  • Net outflow flux and unit load of pollutants were investigated at a paddy fields area(Soro-ri) with large-scaled plots on loam soil during irrigation seasons of $2001\~2003$. Water samples were collected, and inflow and outflow were .measured at $5\~10$ day intervals during non-storm periods and at $2\~6$ hours intervals during storm events. The average concentration of TP in percolated water was much smaller than that in irrigation and surface outflow water likely due to phosphorus absorption capacity of paddy soils. Net outflow flux in study area was significantly correlated with rainfall and surface outflow discharge. Nutrient flux from Paddy fields can be abated by reduction in outflow surface discharge.

  • Packing tower has been used in the chemical industry and the protection of environment for a long time. In the view of environmental protection purification of exhaust gas can be performance effective by gas absorption in counter-current packing tower. In this study characteristics of hydraulic and mass transfer were investigated in D. $0.3m {\times} H. 1.4m$ packing tower with 50mn plastic Hiflow-ring. This study was carried out "Test systems were experimented in conditions of Air, $Air/H_2O. NH_3-Air/H_2O, NH_3-Air/H_2O-H_2SO_4$ and $SO_2-Air/H_2O-NaOH$ under steady state" The extent of test included dry and wetting pressure drop physical law separation efficiency and hold-up as function of gas and liquid load.quid load.

  • We investigated net outflow load and unit load of pollutants from a paddy fields area in dry year 2001. Amount of irrigation water in 2001 was about 61-63% of that in previous years 1999 and 2000 due to drought. The net outflow load and unit load of pollutants in 2001 were negative, showing that paddy fields acts as sink of pollutants due to function of water quality purification. The relationship between unit load of pollutants and net surface outflow (= surface outflow - irrigation water) showed positive correlation. The results showed that abatement of surface outflow by appropriate water management contribute to reduce surface outflow load from paddy fields.

  • A spiral wound nanofiltration (NF) membrane (GE Osmonics, DK 4040F) was used to remove pesticides from water. Several solutions of single pesticides and their mixtures were prepared. The pesticides initial concentration ranged from ca. 50 ng/L (single pesticide) to ca. 700 ng/L (as sum of 14 pesticides) and progressively increased with time since the NF experiments were carried out in a concentration mode up to a Volume Concentration Ratio, VCR = 10. Permeate flux and pesticides retention were evaluated as a function of the Volume Concentration Ratio. The permeate flux did not practically change by varying VCR. Pesticide retention was found to be around 97-98% both in the cases of single pesticide solutions and different mixtures of pollutants, and was not affected by the VCR. Pesticides concentration in permeate samples was found to be lower than the maximum concentration level fixed in European directive.

  • The process of biological treatment of organic wastewater is principally associated with those of self-purification in the natural water environment. The treatment system has e intensive function of stabilizing wastewater more effectively than in natural water, which is like natural water concentrated in a small space. Biological treatment of wastewater involves activated sludge and various modified process, trickling filter, rotating disk, oxidation ditch, etc. for aerobic decomposition and anaerobic processes such as anaerobic decomposition and methane fermentation. The basic characteristic of these processes is the use of mixed culture for the conversion of pollutants. This review forcuses on the various kinds of microorganisms related to each treatment processes. Kinetic analysis of the activated sludge process is discussed in order to understand the basis of control and maintenance of the biological treatment process.

  • Wave breaking and breaking wave-induced hydrodynamics are very important subjects in the field of coastal and ocean hydrodynamics and engineering. In the coastal zone, a submerged breakwater has been increasingly popular, since it is one of nature-matching structures with multi- functions such as (1) wave energy dissipation by wave breaking and friction, (2) oxygen supply to sea by wave breaking and breaking wave, (3) water purification by entrained air bubbles, (4) keeping. good seascape. and (5) good habitat for sea livings. Recently, the breaking wave-induced high frequency pressure over a submerged breakwater is said to have a function of gathering sea livings around the structure, which has encouraged the construction of the submerged breakwater in coastal zone. • Recently, fuzzy and neural network techniques have been successfully applied to control of complex and ill-defined system in a wide variety of areas, such as robot, water purification, automatic train operation system and automatic container crane operation system, etc. In this paper, we present a neuro-fuzzy controller which unifies both fuzzy logic and multi-layered feedforward neural networks. Fuzzy logic provides a means for converting linguistic control knowledge into control actions. On the other hand, feedforward neural networks provide salient features, such as learning and parallelism. In the proposed neuro-fuzzy controller, the parameters of membership functions in the antecedent part of fuzzy inference rules are identified by using the error backpropagation algorithm as a learning rule, while the coefficients of the linear combination of input variables in the consequent part are determined by using the least square estimation method. Finally, the effectiveness of the proposed controller is verified through computer simulation of an inverted pendulum system.

  • Polysaccharide fractions were prepared from Albizzia julibrissin by different extraction schedules. The fractions obtained were designated as PS-I and PS-II, respectively. Further purification of PS-I by Sephadex G-200 column chromatography gave two subfractions, Alju A and alju B, Each fraction showed marked antitumor activity against sarcoma 180 solid form but not ascite form. PS-I and PS-II increased delayed hypersensitivity in normal and tumor bearing mice. PS-I treatment led to moderate restoration of the suppressed antibody production in tumor bearing mice.

  • Ghrelin is a unique peptide hormone that releases growth factor and it stimulates appetite. It comes from pre pro-ghrelin by the post translational modification process and its innate functions are known as food up-take and the growth hormone regulation. Therefore, the structural information of ghrelin precursor is of importance in understanding it function. From our results, we found that the solution structure of ghrelin is mostly random coil conformation at neutral pH value and the structural population changes with pH environments. Data from circular dichroism in different TFE concentrations revealed that the secondary structure changes from random coil to a-helix and the isodichroic point is observed at 202nm, implying that two equilibrium states exist between random coil and helical structure.

  • In this paper, to increase the maintenance efficiency of the urban railway train control system and to build a standard data system, we collect as much as possible structured, unstructured, and semi-structured data, and collect data by sensing and monitoring the system status and system status and monitoring. pre-process function data(Identification, purification, integration, transformation) through effective data classification and maintenance activities business classification system was studied. The purpose of this is to define the data matrix model by considering the relationship with the data generated and managed in the O&M stage of the train control system operated by the urban railway together with the WBS model, and to reflect and utilize it in practice.
