  • The primary purpose of this research is to develop and test a model that explains the process of how In-store experiences (physical environmental quality, personal interaction, product experience) through perceived risks and brand attitude influence purchase intention. Perceived risks and brand attitude are proposed as mediators that make a significant impact on purchase intention. Through structural equation modeling using 235 consumers who visited the experience store in IT Industry, we find that In-store experiences influence perceived risks, brand attitude and then enhance purchase intention. Thus, IT companies should make every effort to create In-store value for visited consumers. Based on these results, managerial implications for experience store operation and marketing strategy are discussed. Finally, limitation for this research and further research issues are suggested.

While digital customer experience has become more important due to the recent surge in online sales of the home appliance products, customers' experience in online is not differentiated as offline-focused traditional methods are maintained. This study aims to analyze the characteristics and mutual influences of customer experiences at each stage of online purchase journey, and to explore the effects on the product repurchase intention, focusing on online purchasers of home appliance which are high-involvement products. As a result, both cognitive and affective experiences of the research phase directly affect satisfaction, whereas affective experience at the purchasing stage indicated indirect effects through cognitive experience. The experience of the research phase positively affects the next phase, the purchasing experience, and the experience of the purchasing phase leads to the intention to repurchase the product. However, it is also found that, depending on the choice of online channels, the experience of research phase may affect the product repurchase intention than the purchase experience.

  • This study empirically investigates the design factors that could engender positive impacts on consumers' user experiences with respect to trust, attitude, and intent to purchase a product promoted in the virtual reality (VR) e-commerce environment. Guided by previous literature, we specifically test the role of schema congruity due to the design of the space and virtual agent on trust, attitude, and purchase intention in the context of VR e-commerce. To test the effect of the congruency between user's schema and virtual environment design on user intentions, a 2 × 2 mixed ANOVA design experiment was conducted with place creativity (Low vs. High) as a within factor and workplace attire (Casual vs. Formal) as a between factor. The result showed support for the effect of schema congruity on trust, in that interaction of the two factors were found. Significant positive relationship between trust, attitude, and purchase intention was found. Further implications are discussed based on results.

This paper empirically examines the relative influence of Taobao.com on customers' online purchasing decisions. Research design, data, and methodology - We perform structural equation analysis, with a sample of 306 observations. The data comes from consumers' real transaction experiences from a specific website. This gives the results of our study more generalizability than studies using subjects who are not asked to engage in real transactions. Results - The results of this study reveal that perceived security and perceived reputation are critical factors affecting consumer trust and perceived transparency is most closely associated with purchase intention. Conclusions - The findings suggest that perceived transparency plays a significant role in increasing online consumer's purchase intention. The knowledge of the relative impacts of these factors and their roles in the customer transaction experience will be useful in developing customized sales strategies. • This study conducted an exploratory factor analysis to examine how consumers' confidence on the local foods used at tasty farm eateries influence their purchase behaviors. The four factors of perception of local foods used at tasty farm eateries and the factors of consumer confidence and purchase behaviors were extracted for a reliability analysis, correlation analysis of variables, and simple and multiple regression analysis. The following are the findings: first, among the four factors of perception of local foods used at tasty farm eateries, safety, sociality and product value had statistically significant influences on consumer confidence, whereas regional economic value did not. In other words, safety referring to the nutritional value and sanitary safety of food ingredients used for the native foods at the tasty farm eateries, product value referring to the characteristics differentiated from general Korean cuisine, and sociality referring to the various related experiences for the interests in farm culture and local food, leads to consumer confidence, whereas regional economic value referring to farm household income, local job creation, and development of farm tourism does not. Second, consumer confidence had a statistically significant positive impact on consumers' purchase behaviors. Among the five principles of local foods, reliability is the most important factor. When consumers gain confidence on local food items and are satisfied with them, they make additional purchases and revisits. Therefore, confidence is a very important aspect for the loyalty and sustainability of business.
