전기 인버터 구동 수압 피스톤 펌프 시스템의 효율 성능에 관한 실험적 연구 (An Experimental Study on the Efficiency of the Water Hydraulic Piston Pump System driven by an Electric Inverter)

  • A water hydraulic pump is likely to have serious problems of high leakage, friction and low energy efficiency. A water hydraulic pump has commonly a fixed displacement type and its outlet flow is adjusted by controlling rotation speed of the pump, which can be implemented by using an electric inverter. This study aims to investigate energy efficiency of the water hydraulic pump system which is driven by an electric inverter. The study is based on the experimental results. The pump which is used in the study shows relatively good efficiency and low leakage, low friction as well. The reasons for the good performance of pump is also investigated.

  • The torque efficiency of oil hydraulic pump is an important factor for it's performance characteristics. A study on the performance test method of oil hydraulic pump is based on test standard, but there is to be desired an study for double or tandem type oil hydraulic piston pump. So in this study present a test method on the tandem pump for torque efficiency and analysis method of the results.

  • 펌프는 산업 및 건설현장에 급수, 냉난방 및 산업공정에서 다양하게 사용되고 있으며, 전체 국가 전력의 약 20%를 소비하고 있다. 하지만 에너지 낭비요소에 대한 관리는 거의 이루어지지 않고 있는 실정이다. 따라서 만일 효율이 저하된 상태로 펌프가 운전된다면 그의 에너지 낭비는 대단히 크게 된다. 펌프의 경우 초기 구입비용에 비해 사용하면서 발생하는 전력비용이 대단히 크기 때문에 이러한 낭비를 줄이기 위해서는 펌프의 효율을 정기적으로 측정하여 펌프의 운전 상태를 진단함으로써 펌프의 최적운전상태 및 교환주기 등을 제시할 수 있을 것이다. 본 연구에서는 펌프의 효율측정을 위해 열역학적 방법과 수력학적 방법(전통적인 방법)의 두 가지 방법으로 측정할 수 있는 장비에 대해서 소개하고 실제 펌프의 효율을 계산하여 그 유효성을 확인하였다.

파이프형 원심펌프의 성능특성에 관한 실험적 연구 (Performance Characteristic of a Pipe Type Centrifugal Pump)

  • The positive displacement pump and the regenerative pump are widely used in the range of low specific speed, $n_s{\leq}100$[rpm, m3/min, m]. The positive displacement pump is not suitable for miniaturization and operation in high rotational speed. The regenerative pump has a problem with large leakage flow and low efficiency. While the centrifugal pump has advantages of high efficiency, miniaturization and high rotational speed, efficiency drops sharply with decrease in specific speed. Therefore the purpose of this study is to design a new type of centrifugal pump that has advantages of centrifugal pumps in operation in low specific speed. The name of this new type of pump was called 'Pipe type centrifugal pump', since the flow path through the impeller is simple circular pipe. Due to the simple shape of impeller, the manufacturing process is simple and cost is low. There is strong jet flow at the outlet of the impeller. This jet induces flow path loss, meridional dynamic pressure loss and mixing loss. Large disk friction makes the efficiency be limitted in the range of low specific speed. Even though the loss and the low efficiency, 'Pipe type centrifugal pump' represents stable performance, affordable pressure ratio and efficiency better than that of other low specific speed pumps.

공기열원 히트펌프의 에너지 효율 비율에 관한 실험적 연구 (An Experimental Study on the Energy Efficiency Ratio of Heat Pump for Air Source)

  • In this paper, an experimental study was conducted on the energy efficiency ratio of performance for air source heat pump. The energy efficiency ratio presents the operating efficiency of heat pump performance. In order to improve reliability in the energy efficiency ratio test of air source heat pump, the measurement uncertainty of the instrument was estimated. Measurement uncertainty refers to the uncertainty of a measurement, estimates the range in which the expected value of the measurement can be within a certain confidence level, and suggests a range in which the measured representative value is incorrect. The measurement uncertainty for the energy efficiency ratio test of air source heat pump was calculated and the measured results were presented.

Charge Pump Circuits with Low Area and High Power Efficiency for Memory Applications

  • New charge pump circuits with low area and high power efficiency are proposed and verified in this paper. These pump circuits do not suffer the voltage stress higher than $V_{DD}$ across their pumping capacitors. Thus they can use the thin-oxide MOSFETs as the pumping capacitors. Using the thin-oxide capacitors can reduce the area of charge pumps greatly while keeping their driving capability. Comparing the new pump (NCP-2) with the conventional pump circuit using the thick-oxide capacitors shows that the power efficiency of NCP-2 is the same with the conventional one but the area efficiency of NCP-2 is improved as much as 71.8% over the conventional one, when the $V_{PP}/V_{DD}$ ratio is 3.5 and $V_{DD}$=1.8V.

A Study of Performance and Internal Flow in a New Type of Sewage Pump

  • Sewage pumps are designed with a wide flow channel by, for example, sacrificing some efficiency and reducing the number of blades, in order to prevent plugging with foreign bodies. However, the behavior of foreign bodies which actually flow into a pump is extremely complex, and there are questions about whether the presumed foreign bodies will actually pass through. This paper proposes a new type of sewage pump impeller designed to further improve pump efficiency and performance in passing foreign bodies. This sewage pump impeller has a structure in which the suction flow channel of a closed type non-clog pump is wound in a helical spiral. The focus of this research was to investigate pump performance and internal flow in this single blade sewage pump impeller. The results clearly indicated the following facts: The developed sewage pump impeller exhibits high efficiency over a wide range of flow rates; internal flow of the pump is very complicated; and the internal flow state varies greatly when the flow rate changes.

논클로그 및 스크류식 원심펌프의 임펠러 형상이 펌프성능에 미치는 영향 (Effects of the Impeller Shapes on the Non-Clogging and the Screw-type Centrifugal Pump Performances)

  • In this study, the effects of the impeller shapes on the pump performances of the non-clogging and the screw-type centrifugal pumps are experimentally studied. The characteristics of total head, efficiency and power of the non-clogging pump increase as the number of vanes increases. The screw-type centrifugal pump with the linear-shape vane shows a little better performance than that of the screw-type centrifugal pump with the curved-shape vane. The differences in the characteristics of total head, efficiency and power are, however, insignificant. Therefore, it is advisable that, considering the convenience of pump manufacturing, the screw-type centrifugal pump with the linear-shape vane should be used. This study also compares the pump characteristics of the non-clogging pump and screw-type centrifugal pump. The characteristics of total head and efficiency of the non-clogging pump are better than those of the screw-type centrifugal pump. The screw-type centrifugal pump requires more shaft power than the non-clogging pump.

Efficiency Increase and Input Power Decrease of Converted Prototype Pump Performance

  • The performance of a prototype pump converted from that of its model pump shows an increase in efficiency brought about by a decrease in friction loss. As the friction force working on impeller blades causes partial peripheral motion on the outlet flow from the impeller, the increase in the prototype's efficiency causes also a decrease in its input power. This paper discusses results of analyses on the behavior of the theoretical head or input power of a prototype pump. The equation of friction-drag coefficient for a flat plate was applied for the analysis of hydraulic loss in impeller blade passages. It was revealed that the friction-drag of a flat plate could be, to a certain degree, substituted for the friction drag of impeller blades, i.e. as a means for analyzing the relationship between a prototype pump's efficiency increase and input power decrease.

  • Pumps are used widely in industry, the commercial sector and ships. A poorly selected pump or a pump that does not run at optimum design duty point is a classic symbol of wasted energy and money. It, therefore, becomes important to evaluate the efficiency of these pumps. This paper analyzes traditional technique and instrument to measure some parameters needed to calculate a pump efficiency. The pump efficiency measuring instrument (PEMI) was made and tested on real pump systems. It has been giver the accurate results compared with performance curve given by pump maker.
