A Study on Energy Saving Algorithm of Pneumatic Regulator with Modified PWM Driven Method

  • The development of an accurate and energy saving pneumatic regulator that may be applied to a variety of practical pressure control applications is described in this paper. A novel modified pulse width modulation(MPWM) valve pulsing algorithm allows the pneumatic regulator to become energy saving system. A comparison between the system response of conventional PWM algorithm and that of the modified PWM(MPWM) algorithm shows that the control performance is almost the same, but energy saving is greatly improved by adopting this new MPWM algorithm. The effectiveness of the proposed control algorithm is demonstrated through experiments with various reference trajectories.

  • This study deals with a position control of an electro-hydraulic servo system which consist of cylinder and high speed on-off valves operated by microcomputer. The merits of PWM control of hydraulic equipment are the robustness of the high spee on-off valve, its low price and the direct control without D/A converter. In the PWM control of high speed on-off valve, the time lag and switching time existing between the input and output signals of valve are considered as demerit points. To get analytical results, the effects of these demerits have to be clarified in detail. The object of this study is to propose a mathematical model for the behavior of high speed on-off valve and to get analytical results of this system. The dynamic characteristics of this system is examined by digital computer simulation analytically and compared with experimental results to varify the proposed mathematical model.

Study on the Characteristics of Surge Pressure by High Frequency PWM Control in Braking System (제동장치에서 고주파수 PWM 제어에 의한 맥동특성 연구)

  • The solenoid valve of ABS hydraulic modulator is a two directional on-off valve and is controlled by around 100Hz on-off control. When the on-off valve is switched from open state to closed state, there are braking force deterioration, noise and vibration due to surge pressure in the wheel cylinder. In this study, identifies surge pressure in the braking process of ABS, and investigates the way to reduce the phenomenon. To reduce the surge pressure, PWM(Pulse Width Modulation) control with high frequency of 20kHz was attempted. In conclusion, by using the results of this study for the pressure surge prediction, we could expect enhancement of braking performance in ABS.

  • Recently, it is increased to apply sensorless drive for BLDC (Brushless DC) motor to household electrical appliances, especially in the refrigerators and air conditioners, to reduce the cost and the acoustic noise by the operation and to make their functions more comfortable for human beings. In this paper, low-cost sensorless drive for BLDC motor is implemented by random PWM (Pulse Width Modulation). The experimental results show that the electromagnetic noise was reduced and the sound quality was improved by BLDC motor sensorless random PWM Control.

  • In this paper, the boost converter was implemented by digital control in many applications of the step-up. The PWM(pulse width modulation) control module of boost converter was digitized at power converter using the FPGA device and VHDL. The boost converter was designed to output a fixed voltage through the PI control algorithm of the PWM control module even if input voltage and output load are variable. The boost converter was digitized can be simplified by reducing the size of the module and the external control components. Thus, the digital power IC has advantageous for weight reduction and miniaturization of electronic products because it can be controlled remotely by setting the desired output voltage and PWM control module. The boost converter using the digital power IC was confirmed through experiments and the good performances were showed from experiment results.

  • With the advent of power semiconductor switching devices, power electronics relating to high frequency electromagnetic eddy current based induction heating technology have become more suitable and acceptable. This paper presents high-frequency induction heating cooking appliance circuit based on the zero current switching-PWM single ended push-pull(ZCS-PWM SEPP) resonant inverter added AC-DC converter. This inverter uses pulse-width-modulation(PWM) control method with active auxiliary quasi-resonant lossless inductor snubbers and a switched capacitor. To improved the transient performance, the PI controller is applied for this system. For the systematic parameter optimization of the PI controller, the gradient-based optimization algorithm is applied. The performance of optimized parameters is evaluated using simulation and experimental test. These results show that the proposed systematic optimal tuning method improve the transient performances of this system.

  • This paper presents dynamic characteristic of permanent magnet synchronous motor using the space vector PWM(pulse-width modulated) which are drove by offset voltage modulation. It is shown by simulation which has the modeling about PWM inverter and PMSM. The validity of dynamic simulation has been confirmed by the phase back-EMF from FEM(Finite Element Methods) under the equal restrict.

  • 본 논문에서는 영구자석형 기기의 RT(Real Time) 모델을 이용하여 실 제어상태의 PWM 스위칭 전류를 계산하고 철손과 회전자 영구자석의 손실을 현실적으로 해석하는 프로세스가 제시된다. 이러한 계산 프로세스는 전동기 구동 시스템의 실제 제어 환경과 전동기의 모델링을 고려하였다. 전동기 구동시스템의 모델링은 상용 소프트웨어인 MATLAB/Simulik 와 JMAG-RT 모델을 결합하여 구현되었으며, 전류 제어기의 PWM 스위칭 전류를 이용하여 영구자석 전동기의 철손이 계산되었다. 제안된 프로세스는 기 제작된 설계 모델을 대상으로 적용 타당성이 검증되었다.

  • This paper gives a description of the mode'ling and control of a single phase PWM(Pulse Width Modulation) converter for HEMU-400X(High-speed Electric Multiple Unit - 400 km/h experiment). The converter is part of a Auxiliary power unit supplied by the 25[kV], 60[Hz] overhead line. A model of the converter in a synchronously rotating reference frame of coordinates is used to develop a new type of control. The control system has separate controllers for the active and reactive current, permitting the free choice of the power factor. This paper proposes a new control method of PWM converter for Auxiliary power unit.

  • PWM(Pulse Width Modulation) 컨버터에서 공급 전압의 품질은 교류 입력전류 및 직류 출력전압의 품질에 큰 영향을 미친다. 공급전압이 불평형 또는 고조파가 포함된 경우에는 평형 전원전압의 경우보다 입력 전류의고조파 및 역률 특성이 저하된다. 또한 컨버터 입력 측의 사용된 인덕턴스의 용량에 따라 입력전류의 고조파 및 역률 특성이 달라진다. 본 논문에서는 입력측 인덕턴스 값의 변화에 따른 단상 및 삼상 PWM 컨버터의 입력전류 고조파와 역률 관계를 해석하였는데, 특히 입력전압에 고조파를 포함한 경우와 불평형인 상태까지 확장하여 성능을 평가하였다. 이러한 결과를 통해 입력 인덕턴스 설계 값을 선정하는데 기준을 제시하였다.
