  • Software and hardware for cochlear implant system have been developed to create a speech signal processing system which, in real-time, extracts model parameter including formants, pitch, amplitude information. The system is based on the Texas Instruments TMS320 family. In hardware, computer interface has been desisted and implemented that allows presentation of biphasic pulse stimuli to patients with the hearing handicapped. The host computer sends a stream of bytes to the parallel port. Upon receipt of the data the interface generates the appropriate burst sequence that is delivered to the patient's external transmitter coil. The coded information is interpreted by the Nucleus-22 internal receiver that delivers the pulse to the specified electrodes at the specified amplitude and pulse width.

  • An IGBT driver for serially connected pulse switching IGBTS was contructed and tested. The IGBT driver has ten output pulses with 1 ${\mu}ysec$ pulse width Its pulse repetition-rate can adjusted from 0 to 20 kHz. The output pulses was insulated from 10 kV high voltage by a pulse transformer. Their voltage amplitude are 18 V, voltage rising time 250 nsec., and voltage falling time 200 nsec when IGBT gates with 12 nF input capacitance are connected.

  • Unsteady components of the second-order axial velocity and temperature within a tapered pulse tube were obtained by using a novel hybrid method of solution which combines an analytical solution with a numerical solution. The effects of operating frequency, taper angle and cold eng temperature on the unsteady components of the second-order axial velocity and temperature were shown. The unsteady component of the second-order mass flux had the amplitude of the same order as the steady component when the velocities at the ends of the pulse tube have only first-order components.

  • This paper presents resarch results on the use of a corona detector and a pulse counter in order to diagnose for oil transformers. Using these experimental apparatus, tests were carried out on a typical transformer oil containing different carbonized paper and various moisture contents to measure the picocoulomb val-ues and pulse count. Through the result of this study it was found that the picocoulomb values and pulse count of corona were depended on the getting stained in transformer oil. The amplitude of the partial discharge amount and the number of pulse were decreased up to 70 [。c] and then was increased as the oil temperature goes up. It was concluded that the determinati-on level for diagnosis of oil transform-er was taken into account the temperatu-er of transformer oil, The use of pulse counter method, which have been taken the same property of voltage and temperature variation for the corona measurement mothod, considera-bly increase insulator avilability.

  • The techniques of pulse and cyclic voltammetry were applied to the determination of (E$_{1}$2)$_2$-(E$_{1}$2)$_1$ for two-step electrochemical charge transfers. In addition, a simple amplitude was derived far the dependence of the differential pulse response on (E$_{l}$ 2/)$_1$ and (E$_{1}$2/)$_2$. and the use of peak to peak separation in cyclic voltammetry and differential pulse methods was evaluated. A comparison of the comproportionation constants(Ke) from differential pulse and cyclic voltammetry methods exhibited a good agreement within 5%.

  • The results of the Crab pulsar observations with the photometrical MANIA (Multichannel Analysis of Nanosecond Intensity Alterations) complex at the 6-m telescope are presented. More than 12 millions photons in UBVR-bands simultaneously with time resolution of $10^{-7}s$ were detected. Using the original software for search for optical pulsar period, we obtained the light curves of the object with time resolution of about 3.3 ${\mu}s$. Their detailed analysis gives the spectral change during pulse and subpulse, the shape of the pulse peaks, which are plateaus (with the duration of about 50${\mu}s$ for the main pulse), limits for an amplitude of fine temporal (stochastic and regular) structure of pulse and sub pulse and the interpulse space intensity. The results of CCD-spectroscopy of the Crab pulsar show that its summarized spectrum is flat. There are no lines, neither emission nor absorbtion ones. Upper limit for line intensity or depth is $3.5\%$ with the confidence probability of $95\%$.

DS-UWB를 위한 고차 미분 가우시안 펄스 생성기의 소형화와 구현 (Implementation and miniaturization of High Order Derivative Gaussian Pulse Generator for DS-UWB)

  • 본 논문에서는 FCC 규격을 만족하는 DS-UWB 통신을 위한 고차미분 가우시안 펄스 생성기를 제안하고, 이를 실험적으로 구현하였다. 100Mbps의 구형파를 가우시안 펄스로 변환하기 위해 두개의 SRB만을 이용한 가우시안 펄스 발생기를 제작하였다. 출력된 펄스는 330 psec의 펄스폭과 920 mV의 크기를 가진다. 또한 WLAN 대역을 제거하기 위해 마이크로스트립 라인과 병렬 스터브를 이용한 고차미분의 특성을 가지는 이중 대역통과 필터를 설계 및 제작하였다. 최종적으로 WLAN 대역을 -25dB 이상 억제를 하고, 시간축 상에서 1 nsec의 펄스폭과 25 mV의 크기를 가지는 13차 가우시안 펄스를 출력하였다.

안정대륙권역의 중규모지진에 의한 근단층지반운동의 모델링 (Modeling of Near Fault Ground Motion due to Moderate Magnitude Earthquakes in Stable Continental Regions)

  • 이 논문에서는 안정대륙권역(Stable Continental Regions, SCRs)에서의 중규모 지진에 의한 근단층지반운동(Near Fault Ground Motion, NFGM) 모델을 처음으로 제시한다. 근단층지반운동은 큰 진폭의 장주기 속도 펄스를 갖는 특징을 가지고 있다. 이 속도 펄스를 모델링하기 위해서는 그 주기와 진폭을 지진의 규모와 단층거리의 함수로 표현할 수 있어야 한다. 그런데 안정대륙권역에서는 관측 자료가 빈약하여 지진데이터로부터 이 관계식을 직접 유도하는 것은 어렵기 때문에 이 연구에서는 간접적인 접근법을 채택하였다. 속도 펄스의 주기와 진폭은 단층파열의 상승시간과 파열속도의 함수임이 알려져 있고 활성구조권역(Active Tectonic Regions, ATRs)에 속하는 미국 서부지역에서는 실험적 공식이 확립되어 있다. 안정대륙권역에서의 상승시간과 단층파열속도의 지진규모에 대한 함수관계는 WUS와 CEUS에서의 자료를 비교하여 도출하였다. 이 관계식들로부터 안정대륙권역에서의 NFGM의 속도 펄스의 주기와 진폭을 지진규모 및 단층 거리에 대한 관계식으로 유도하였다. 안정대륙권역에서의 NFGM의 가속도 시간이력은 추계학적으로 생성된 원역지진지반가속도에 새로운 관계식에 의한 속도 펄스를 중첩하여 얻어진다. 적용 예제로서 탄소성 단자유도 시스템의 근단층지반운동에 대한 응답을 분석하였다.

전극의 용량성분을 이용한 공진이득 증폭형 유전가열장치에 관한 연구 (A study on a dielectric heating system for amplifying the resonant gain using the capacitance of electrodes)

  • 본 논문에서는 300kHz 이상의 주파수를 사용하는 고전압펄스의 출력이득을 증폭시키는 방법에 대하여 고찰하였다. 종래의 파워스테이지의 전압을 상승시켜 펄스진폭(Pulse-amplitude)을 증폭하는 방식 대신에, 부하의 용량성분과 회로의 기생성분간의 공진을 이용하여 출력이득을 증폭하는 방식으로 연구가 진행되었다. 특히 브릿지형 대신에 Flyback Topology를 적용을 통하여 회로구성을 간소화하고, 출력펄스파형에 출력전극의 용량성분을 부여함에 따라 부하에 가해지는 출력전압의 이득을 증폭시킴으로써, 하드스위칭을 통한 출력회로 내에서의 과부하 및 발열에 따른 손상을 막을 수 있는 장점이 있다. 해당연구는 의료 및 산업용가열분야에 적용되는 유전가열 방식의 접촉형 가열기기의 공간적, 전기적 효율을 제고할 수 있는 한 방법을 제시한다.

Signal Processing Algorithm to Reduce RWR Electro-Magnetic Interference with Tail Rotor Blade of Helicopter

  • In the environment where various and complicated threat signals exist, RWR (Radar Warning Receiver), which can warn pilot of the existence of threats, has long been a necessary electronic warfare (EW) system to improve survivability of aircraft. The angle of arrival (AOA) information, the most reliable sorting parameter in the RWR, is measured by means of four-quadrant amplitude comparison direction finding (DF) technique. Each of four antennas (usually spiral antenna) of DF unit covers one of four quadrant zones, with 90 degrees apart with nearby antenna. According to the location of antenna installed in helicopter, RWR is subject to signal loss and interference by helicopter body and structures including tail bumper, rotor blade, and so on, causing a difficulty of detecting hostile emitters. In this paper, the performance degradation caused by signal interference by tail rotor blades has been estimated by measuring amplitude video signals into which RWR converts RF signals in case a part of antenna is screened by real tail rotor blade in anechoic chamber. The results show that corruption of pulse amplitude (PA) is main cause of DF error. We have proposed two algorithms for resolving the interference by tail rotor blades as below: First, expand the AOA group range for pulse grouping at the first signal analysis phase. Second, merge each of pulse trains with the other, that signal parameter except PRI and AOA is similar, after the first signal analysis phase. The presented method makes it possible to use RWR by reducing interference caused by blade screening in case antenna is screened by tail rotor blades.
