This study reviews the research trends of landscape ecology, geographical information system(GIS) and remote sensing(RS) that have appeared in articles published in the Journal of the Korean Institute of Landscape Architecture over the last 30 years. The aim is to identify the research characteristics in Korea. There were 905 papers published in the journal during this period. There were 35 papers concerning landscape ecology, and 26 papers concerning GIS/RS, which are few compared to other research fields. The papers were classified chronologically, and reviewed in terms of their contents. In the seventies and eighties, papers were contributed from other disciplines, e. g., forestry, and also included translated papers from foreign sources. However, in the nineties, the number of papers grew continuously. During the fist half of nineties, six papers were published. However, 30 papers were published during the last half of nineties, which shows a rapid increase in the number of papers contributed. From 2001 to 2003, there were 17 papers published. Overall, there tends to be an increase in the number of papers contributed and published.
Objectives : This study was conducted to investigate the research trends of herbal medicine prescriptions and herbal medicines with anti-inflammatory effects. Methods : Among the papers published in oriental medicine from 2015 to 2020(1st half), experimental papers to reveal anti-inflammatory effects were collected, and finally 198 papers were selected. The anti-inflammatory effects of each herb were summarized, and were analyzed by year, journal, experimental subjects and experimental types. Results : 1. Of the 198 papers, there were 186 papers proving anti-inflammatory drug efficacy, 6 papers comparing efficacy between drugs, and 6 papers comparing the efficacy of packaging or storage of drugs. 2. The number of anti-inflammatory drug articles published from 2015 to the first half of 2020 was 35(2015), 35(2016), 38(2017), 44(2018), 34(2019), 12(2020). 3. Papers were published in a total of 18 journals, of which 58(29.3%) were published by the Korea Journal of Herbology. 4. There were 101 papers on single herbs(51.0%) and 78(39.4%) papers on combination drugs. 71 types of single herbs were used in a total of 101 papers, of which Cheongyeol was the most common with 28. 5. Of the 198 papers, 87 in vivo papers and 125 in vitro papers were published, and 14 papers were both conducted. In vitro experiments demonstrated the efficacy of anti-inflammatory drugs in various inflammatory indicators such as NO, PGE2, and in vivo experiments demonstrated the efficacy of anti-inflammatory drugs in various inflammatory diseases such as musculoskeletal, digestive, dermal diseases.

We present an analysis of the papers published in the journals Nature and Science in the years from 2006 to 2010. During this period, 7788 papers in total were published in the two journals. This includes 544 astronomy papers that correspond to 7.0% of the papers in 'all' research fields and 18.9% of those in the field of 'physical sciences'. The sub-fields of research of the astronomy papers are distributed, in a descending order of the number of papers, in Solar System, stellar astronomy, galaxies and the universe, the Milky Way Galaxy, and exoplanets. The observational facilities used for the studies are mainly ground-based telescopes (31.1%), spacecrafts (27.0%), and space telescopes (22.8%), while 16.0% of papers did not use any noticeable facilities and 1.7% used other facilities. Korean scientists have published 86 papers (33 in Nature and 53 in Science), which is 1.10% of all the papers (N = 7788) in the two journals. The share of papers by Korean astronomers among the scientific papers by Koreans is 8.14%, slightly higher than the contribution of astronomy papers (7.0%) in both journals.
The Purpose of this study was to develop a data base system for the information on science education research and development. As a part of this study, an analysis of papers on science education included in five selected jounals related science education was done by the use of the authors classification system for the research and development materials of science education. A total of 640 papers from the first issues to the 1991 issues of the journals were classified and analyzed. The selected five journals were Journal of the Korean Association for Research in Science Education (published by The Korean Association for Research in Science Education, 148 papers), Teaching Physics(published by Korean Physical Society, 164papers), Chemical Education (published by The Korean Chemical Socity, 98 papers), The Korean Journal of Biological Education(published by The Korean Society of Biological Education, 148papers), and Journal of Science Education (published by Science Education Center.College of Education, Seoul National University, 82 papers).
One of the biggest change in the history of the Journal of Korean Neurosurgical Society[JKNS] had been introduced in 2005. From January 2005, all manuscripts submitted to JKNS should be written in English. This new regulation was followed by many changes in characteristics of the papers published on JKNS in 2005. The authors present an analysis of papers published on JKNS and compared with those of 2004 and 2003. In total, 184 articles were published in 2005. Since a review article was requested by the editorial office to the authors, 183 articles were peer reviewed. Eighty five clinical articles, 75 case reports, 19 laboratory investigations, two special articles and two technical reports were printed. This distribution was not statistically different from 2004's distribution [p=0.67], even though the ratio of clinical articles was decreased to 46.4% from 54.4%. Due to the change in language specification, English articles were increased with statistical significance [p<0.001]. There were several events related with copyright of the contents of the papers published on JKNS. We think these are some good points came with change in official language to English. General trends of the papers seemed to be in the right way.
Since the authors participated in the editorial committee in October 2001, many dramatic changes have been introduced to the Journal of Korean Neurosurgical Society[JKNS]. The format, the external appearance, the editorial system, and the reviewing process have been transformed with new standpoints to enhance the quality and to raise the level of JKNS. The authors reviewed papers published on JKNS in 2006 with special interest on the changes of JKNS during last five years. In total, 186 articles were published on JKNS in 2006. Because the editorial committee asked two review articles to renowned neurosurgeons, there were 184 peer-reviewed articles. Eighty seven clinical articles, eighty one case reports, seven laboratory investigations, four special articles and five technical reports were published. This distribution changed from the previous year with marginal value of statistical significance [p=0.101]. The ratio of the original articles [laboratory investigations and clinical articles] decreased to 51.1% from 57.5% of 2005 but the difference was not statistically significant [p=0.222]. The number of laboratory investigations significantly decreased to 7 [3.8%] from 19 [10.4%] of 2005 [p=0.014]. Other changes such as number of authors per article, number of institutes which published papers on JKNS have been examined to assess the trend and/or change in characteristics of papers published on JKNS.
As the severity of environmental problems has come to light in recent times environmental protection has garnered more interest and importance. The purpose of this study was to determine the current research trends in ecofriendly fashion in Korea by analyzing the research trends related to eco fashion, provide information necessary for developing eco and eco-friendly fashion in the future, and set the research direction for related research. The study analyzed 1,746 research papers in Journal of Korean Society of Costume, Journal of the Korean Society of Clothing and Textiles, Research Journal of the Costume Culture, and Journal of the Korea Fashion and Costume Design Association from 2010 to 2014, and a total of 55 research papers related to eco fashion were selected. Major conclusions of the study are as follows: First, Journal of the Korean Society of Clothing and Textiles published the most papers on eco fashion, Journal of the Korea Fashion and Costume Design Association published the fewest. Second, the highest number of research papers published in a year was 14 in 2014. Only a small number of papers were published in 2012, but the figure increased in 2014. Third, the most frequently covered topic among the 12 topics was the 'eco-friendly' topic with 13 papers (23.64%), followed by topics on corporate social responsibility (CSR), eco, sustainable, green, ethical, and recycle, respectively. The 7 topics above were covered by 47 of the selected 55 papers (85.45%). Fourth, the following research methods were used: the questionnaire method, literature review, case study, Internet search, costume construction, online survey and interview. The questionnaire method was used in 22 papers (29.33%), making it the most frequently used method. Fifth, fields of research were divided into fashion design(19 papers, 34.55%) and fashion marketing(36 papers, 65.45%). Papers on fashion design was published the most in 2010, and fashion marketing papers peaked in 2014. The use of eco fashion will be expanded in various ways in terms of country, firms and consumers in the future.
The purpose of this study was to develop a data base system for the information on science education research and development. As a part of this study, a data base program was developed on the Macintosh SE using the 4th Dimension from ACI. The data base consisted of two files, dissertation and journal. The information on the 107 theses including the master's theses and the doctoral dissertations from the Department of Scince Education, Seoul National University and on the 640 papers on science education from the first issues to the 1991 issues of five selected science education journals was input into the data base. The selected five Journals were Journal of the Korean Association for Research in Science Education(published by the Korean Association for Research in Science Education, 148 papers), Teaching Physics(published by Korean Physical Society, 164 papers),Chemical Education(published by The Korean Chemical Society, 98 papers), The Korean Journal of Biological Education(published by The Korean Society of Biological Education, 148 papers), and Journal of Science Education(published by Science Education Center, College of Education, Seoul National University,82 papers).
Purpose: This study was aimed to classify the major subjects and theme and to analyze the data collection and analysis method in research papers published in the Korean Parent-Child Health Journal of the Academic Society of Parent-Child Health since 1998. Methods: A total 152 studies published from the first edition to volume 12, number 2 were reviewed using structured analysis criteria developed by researchers; research type, research design, research subjects, research theme, data collection and analysis method. Research theme was founded 4 nursing domains. Data collection and analysis method of papers were limited to quantitative and qualitative researches. Results: One hundred papers conducted quantitative research; 79.0% used survey design. Most of the data collection and analysis method in quantitative research were self-reported questionnaire (69.4%) and parametric statistics respectively. The research subjects of sixty three papers were parent with well or child. The common domain studies was human related concepts such as raring. Conclusion: The findings of this study suggest that published studies have been improved and diversified, however, detailed and clear evaluation tool that assess study process and method should be developed as a way to further improve the quality of published papers in the Korean Parent-Child Health Journal.
Purpose: The purpose of this study was to analyze papers published in the Journal of Korean Academy of Child Health Nursing (JKACHN) to identify the current state of child health nursing research and recommend directions for future research. Methods: Using analysis criteria developed by the researchers, 233 papers published in JKACHN between 2005 and 2009 were reviewed. Results: Both quantity and quality of these papers showed significant improvement compared to before 2005. The number of published papers, the proportion of intervention studies, and studies that involved children directly as participants had increased. However, published papers still leave much to be desired. Quantitative studies were dominant (91.4%) and many of these studies were survey designs (65.7%). Children, especially young children were still less likely to be direct participants. All experimental studies were quasi or pre-experimental studies. There were few qualitative research studies. Conclusion: Findings of this study indicate that strengthening peer review according to review guidelines will improve the quality of published papers and promote JKACHN as an international journal. Instead of proxy accounts from parents or nurses, research involving direct accounts by children is needed. Child-friendly data collection methods need to be developed and used by child health nurse researchers.
