A Content Analysis of Webtoon Advertising: Focused on Narrative and Expressive Characteristics (웹툰 광고 내용분석 : 내러티브와 표현 속성을 중심으로)

  • This study collects 112 webtoon advertisements by Google extended search to reveal the narratives of webtoon in persuasive communication context. The results of content analysis are as follows. First, product categories are found relatively more in number such as content and game, cosmetics, public service announcement than other products. Second, the number of webtoon advertisements has increased these seven years; rather drastic increase is found in 2013. Third, as for the origin, brand webtoon is the largest number of all types. Fourth, there is a significant difference between public interest products and commercial products in absurdity advertising number. Commercial products use a variety of genres such as romance, drama, everyday life, including absurdity, while public interest products focus mainly on everyday life.

  • This study investigates the contents of twitters serviced by metropolitans and citizens' questions to propose improvements. Using content analysis as a research method, this study recorded and analyzed all the tweets of six metropolitans (Seoul, Busan, Daegu, Incheon, Daejeon, Gwangju) for three months. As the results, the frequency analysis of tweets revealed that Busan posted more tweets than other cities, and Seoul posted the highest number of tweet using URL link. The results of content analysis showed that the most frequently provided information from tweeters was about convenience of citizens living. Tweets using URL link were focused on information about citizen living, prize contest, and service announcement. Citizens had a request for information about their life and traffic. For public information service using tweeter in the future, this study provided several important suggestions.

Mediating Effects of Self-Regulatory System between Ad Liking and Emotional Engagement in Public Service Announcements (공익광고캠페인의 호감도와 몰입의 관계에서 자기조절체계의 매개효과)

  • The current study investigated mediating effects of self-regulatory system in the context of public service announcements (PSAs). We conducted a survey to collect participants' orientation of self-regulatory systems, emotional response and evaluation of PSAs. A total of 70 undergraduate students with mean age of 22.49 (SD = 3.22). Results showed that emotional engagement to the PSAs is affected by ad liking and, in turn, directly influences intention to act as a campaign outcome. Furthermore, our findings suggested that promotion-oriented individuals are more likely to commit PSA messages than do the prevention-oriented individuals. Therefore, messages of the PSA campaign should include hope and aspiration, indicating the connection of accomplishment and advancement.

  • The purpose of this paper is to investigate the effects of anti-smoking advertising on attitude toward anti-smoking and behavioral intention to quit smoking in terms of audience's involvement with anti-smoking and knowledge on smoking. For this, a total of 10 hypothesis were established and statistically tested. According to the results, all but hypothesis 1-1(attitude toward anti-smoking is more favorable in the high involvement condition than in the low involvement condition) were unfortunately rejected. These results can be justified by theoretical explanations such as Hierarchy Effects Model or Elaboration Likelihood Model. In addition, some methodological reasons were provided as well.

  • Recently, the conference is increase continuously, and the public relations and administration are increasing. Therefore, the many expense of small academic society and official overhead are generated for supporting the service of conference registration and announcement. Accordingly, in this paper, the building tool designs and implements for the registration and public relations of a small-scale conference on Internet. This tool supports an automatic building of a conference homepage and easily operation of the conference. And, the building tool provides the paper submission function, the pre-registration function and the email sending function using the conference homepage on Internet.

Looking Back over a Decade "Final Decision Call after the Accidents of the Fukushima Nuclear Power Plant"

  • The author Nakajima was involved in the field of disaster communications and emergency medical care as guest research scientist at the Fukushima Nuclear Accident Independent Investigation Commission established by the National Diet of Japan and reviewer of the Commission's report, and Kurokawa was the chairman of this Commission. Looking back over a decade, we are on the liability issue of bureaucrats and telecom operators, so it's becoming clear what was hidden at the time. The battery of NTT DoCoMo's mobile phone repeaters had a capacity of only about 24 hours, and communication failures increased after one day. The Government also failed to issue an announcement of "Vent from reactor" under the Telecommunications Act Article No. 129. This mistake lost the opportunity to use the third-party telecommunications (e.g. taxi radios). Furthermore, as a result of LASCOM (telecommunications satellite network for local governments via GEO) and a variety of unexpected communication failures, the evacuation order "Escape!" could not be notified to the general public well. As a result, the general public was exposed to unnecessary radiation exposure. Such bureaucratic slow action in emergencies is common in the response to the 2020 coronavirus.

A Method of Information Management for BIM Based Building Permission (BIM기반 건축물 인허가 신청을 위한 정보 관리방안)

  • Around the world, BIM application has been mandated. In Korea, an announcement was made in 2016 that BIM application will be required for all public constructions ordered by the Public Procurement Service. However, BIM cannot be used for building permits as Seumter, a building permit system, doesn't support BIM, even if it was used for building design. To utilize BIM for permit application, this study introduces a method of management for BIM-used permit application information. It was done by analyzing the data entered for new building permit application in Seumter. For the analysis, the permit application information is classified as internal BIM information and external BIM information and the required information is defined. To easily create and utilize the data types at the design stage, this study introduces a method of creating and utilizing a permit template. Also, this study developed a tool for combining the area information to add up all the related information such as gross floor area and floor area ratio. This study is significant in that it analyzes the required information for new building permit application among all the permit application types in Korea.

The Influence of Knowledge, Beliefs and Attitudes on Anti-Smoking Public Service Announcement Message Types and Audience Characteristics (수용자특성 및 금연광고 메시지가 지식․신념․태도에 미치는 영향)

  • Objectives: In this study, the most executed social norm and advertisement about health consequences status were examined. The direction of effective anti-smoking advertisement is suggested in this study by figuring out the primary factors which affect smoking attitudes. Methods: The survey period of this study was from Nov $5^{th}$ to Nov $16^{th}$, 2012. 423 complete questionnaires were used for final analysis. The collected data were analyzed by SPSS Ver. 14.0, and reliability analysis, factor analysis, frequency analysis, F/t qualification, t-test, and multiple regression analysis, were performed. Results: This study is worth as a diagnosis of current status by using advertisement about social norm(51.4%) and health result(34.3%), which covers total of 85% in appeal types of anti-smoking advertisement that has been practically used in Korea. As a result, the health result type showed better result on belief and attitude. Conclusions: When establishing message strategy for anti-smoking advertisement, this study can help future direction for effective anti-smoking advertisement by figuring out effect of factors on smoking attitude.

  • In the Republic From the national interest in the recent hiring scandals in the public institutions such as the Financial Supervisory Service, Gangwon Land, and so on, people were outraged by the fact that the competition opportunities were not secured although they should be equally secured to compete with anyone with their capabilities in the fair process. Hence, the government made the public institutions blind hiring to be mandatory, which eliminated writing the academic background, GPA, and English score in the application form and selected the new employees only with job competencies in the public institutions in 2017. In 2018, the prosecution did their best for the investigation on hiring scandal with the strong will to cut the scandal upon announcement of 5-year anti-corruption master plan. Amid this controversy, this study tries to suggest the further direction in the hiring military human resources upon introduction of blind hiring system, reviewing the needs to introduce blind hiring system in the military, the governmental guideline according to the mandatory blind hiring in the public institutions, and the application status of modified blind hiring in the military.

Developing Measurements of University Satisfaction using Public Customer Satisfaction Index (공공기관 고객만족지수를 이용한 대학의 고객만족 측정도구 개발)

  • With the higher competition of university environment, universities has been adapted Customer Satisfaction Index (CSI). However, the problem of CSI focuses on score and ranking announcement. In public sectors, PCSI model is used because of increasing its strategic utilization by providing diagnosis of the phenomenon and direction for future improvement through causal model analysis. The purpose of this research is to develop a measurements of university satisfaction using PCSI. This research demonstrates validity and reliability of PCSI using test-retest method using multi-group confirmatory factor analysis. The results of this research indicate that the reliability and validity of the PCSI model is verified. Service product quality, service delivery quality, environment quality and social quality have positive effects on customer satisfaction. In turn, customer satisfaction have positve effects on university performance and social performance. In conclusion, service quality, PCSI, and service performance are clarified to be appropriate components of the satisfaction survey. These results can be used to measure the satisfaction level of education at actual universities. It is expected that practical basic data can be obtained to improve the quality of university education.
