  • Bullying prevention and intervention programs often include empathy training. This study investigated how the cognitive empathy and affective empathy are related to bullying involvement. For this purpose, a questionnaire composed of Korean version of Participant Role Questionnaire scale (bullying, defending, and outsider behavior), and Korean version of Basic Empathy Scale (cognitive empathy, and affective empathy) were administered to 598 middle school students from 7 different middle schools in Gyeongnam province of Korea. The results, based on Structural equation modeling, showed that adolescents' cognitive empathy were indirectly linked to bullying behavior of adolescents' through defending behavior and outsider behavior. Adolescents' affective empathy were directly linked to bullying behavior. These findings could guide the development and implementation of prevention programs for adolescents' bulling. Implications and future research are discussed.

  • This study implemented self-management technique to improve supervisory behaviors at a construction site. Self-management in the current study consisted of goal setting, self-monitoring and providing reward for two supervisory behaviors; (1) conducting safety observations of workers safety behavior and (2) providing safe related feedback. Two supervisors severed as participants. An AB within-group design was adopted. After baseline(A), self-management technique was implemented(B). Results suggested that self-management was effective in increasing the two supervisory behaviors. Moreover, the increased supervisory behaviors were associated with improvement in workers' safety performance.

  • This article describes and illustrates cases the treatment of primary and secondary encopresis using a changing conditions and criterion design with two subjects. The dependent variables measured were increase in appropriate toileting behavior and decrease in inappropriate toileting behavior. After 12 and 13 weeks of treatment encopresis was completely eliminated. In a two-month follow-up and one year follow-up inappropriate toileting behavior was not reported. Appropriate toileting behavior was also reported generalized to settings outside the home.

  • This study examined the influence of safety leadership of manager and safety climate of the organization on the workers' safety behavior. Especially, this study examined a mediating effect of safety climate on the relationship between safety leadership and safety behaviors. 219 workers were asked to respond to the questionnaires that measured various demographic variables, safety climate, safety leadership and safety behaviors. A hierarchical regression was conducted to identify variables that had significant relationships with safety behaviors and to examine the mediating effect of safety climate. Results indicated that the safety leadership significantly predicted both safety compliance and participation behavior. It was found that the safety climate was also a significant predictor for both safety compliance and participation behavior. In addition, safety climate had a mediating effect on the relationship between safety leadership and safety compliance and participation behavior. Based on these results, the implications of this study and suggestions for future research were discussed.

  • The purpose of this study was to determine the mediating effect of negative feedback-seeking behavior in the relationship between the effect of coaching leadership on performance appraisal effectiveness and coaching leadership's performance appraisal effectiveness, and the moderating effect of psychological safety in the effect of coaching leadership on negative feedback-seeking behavior. is to reveal For this purpose, data from 300 office workers in various domestic companies were collected through an online survey, and the data were analyzed using SPSS 25.0 and Macro. The results of this study are as follows. First, the mediating effect of negative feedback seeking behavior was confirmed in the relationship between coaching leadership and performance appraisal effectiveness. Second, it was verified that psychological safety had a moderating effect in the relationship between coaching leadership and negative feedback-seeking behavior. Third, the moderated mediating effect was found to be insignificant. Finally, in this study, the academic significance, implications, limitations, and suggestions for future research were discussed.

  • The purpose of this study is to understand the relationship between emotional labor, job burnout, and life satisfaction for art psychology counselors. The subjects were 225 art psychology counselors in ◯◯ City. As for the methods used, frequency analysis, reliability analysis, and correlation analysis were applied using SPSS 22.0, and multiple regression analysis was applied to causal relationships between variables. As a result of examining the effect on life satisfaction of emotional labor by art psychology counselors, surface behavior had a significant negative effect, while inner behavior also had a negative effect. Emotional exhaustion and a self-achievement decrease, which are sub-factors of job burnout for art psychology counselors, had a negative (-) effect on life satisfaction. This means that the lower the surface behavior of emotional labor by an art psychology counselor, the higher the inner behavior, and the lower the emotional exhaustion of job burnout and the lower the factor of self-achievement, the higher the life satisfaction. This study is considered to be basic data for the preparation of measures to reduce psychological burnout in art psychology counselors and can improve resilience in adaptation to the teaching profession.

  • The purpose of the present study was to investigate the age difference in driving behavior(more specifically, left-turn). The participants were instructed to report whether they can turn left their car in the T-shape road(road and other vehicles' behavior relating to driver's tasks were recorded in advance and projected the simulation screen) after the leading vehicle passed them(i.e., before the target vehicle arrived). The participants' judgment accuracy and response bias were analyzed by using signal detection theory. The results showed that the old group tended to be less sensitive but more confident in their judgement of turning left their car. In particular, both age groups appeared to more depend on the distance from observation location to approaching vehicle rather than arrival times or driving speeds of the approaching vehicle.

  • Utilization of small robots in psychology and biology provides a new breakthrough in understanding the neurobiological mechanisms of various animal behavior. The expansion of robot use in animal research is partly due to increased availability of economically plausible mobile robots and also due to the current shift in animal research toward more ecologically valid experiments. Ground-breaking experimental findings are expected when the behavioral variables are manipulated in more natural situations. In addition, the results from laboratory could be generalized more easily with added ecological validity. The current paper attempts to review a wide range of applications of animal robots used to study animal behavior and to highlight major advantages and limitations. In particular, this review focuses more on the psychological impact of animal robots than engineering details about their structure and operation. Finally, this review will provide some practical considerations when employing robots in animal experiments.
