Most structures of automobile are composed of many substructures connected to one another by various types of mechanical joints. In automotive engineering, it is important to study these connected structures under various dynamic farces for the evaluations of fatigue life and stress concentration exactly. It is rarely obtained the accurate load history of specified positions because of the errors such as modeling, measurement, and etc. In the beginning of design, exact load data are actually necessary for the fatigue strength and life analysis to minimize the cost and time of designing. In this paper, the procedure of practical dynamic load determination is developed by the combination of the principal stresses of F.E. analysis and experiment. Inverse problem and least square pseudo inverse matrix are adopted to obtain an inverse matrix of analyzed stresses matrix. Pseudo-Practical dynamic load was calculated for Lab. Test of sub-structure. GUI program(PLODAS) was developed for whole of above procedure. This proposed method could be extended to any geometric shape of structure.

The error minimization method utilizes the inaccurate measured error and the shifting error that the whole data is stiffed over real data. The least square criterion is adopted to avoid these non. Finally, to verify the proposed procedure, a bus is analyzed. This measurement and prediction technology can be extended to the structural modification of any geometric shape in complex structure.

The capacity of CFS piers has not been used to a practical design, because there is no guide of a seismic design for CFS piers. Therefore, the guide of a seismic design value is derived from tests of CFS piers in order to apply it to a practical seismic design. Steel piers and concrete-filled steel piers are tested with constant axial load using quasi-static cyclic lateral load to check ductile capacity and using the real Kobe ground motion of pseudo-dynamic test to verify seismic performance. The results prove that CFS piers have more satisfactory ductility and strength than steel piers and relatively large hysteretic damping in dynamic behaviors. The seismic performance of steel and CFS piers is quantified on the basis of the test results. These results are evaluated through comparison of both the response modification factor method by elastic response spectrum and the performance-based design method by capacity spectrum and demand spectrum using effective viscous damping. The response modification factor of CFS piers is presented to apply in seismic design on a basis of this evaluation for a seismic performance.

Most structures of vehicle are composed of many substructures connected to one another by various types of mechanical joints. In vehicle engineering, it is important to study these jointed structures under random frequency vibration for the evaluations of fatigue life and stress concentration exactly. It is rarely obtained the accurate load history of specified positions in a jointed structure because of the errors such as modeling, measurement, and etc. In the beginning of design, exact load data are actually necessary for the fatigue strength and life analysis to minimize the cost and time of designing. In this paper, the hybrid method of practical dynamic load determination is developed by the combination of the principal stresses from F. E. Analysis and test of a jointed structure. Least square pseudo inverse matrix is adopted to obtain an inverse matrix of analyzed stresses matrix. The error minimization method utilizes the inaccurate measured error and the shifting error that the whole data is stiffed over real data. The least square criterion is adopted to avoid these errors. Finally, to verify the proposed system, a heavy-duty bus is analyzed. This measurement and prediction technology can be extended to the different jointed structures.
Many experimental and analytical studies have been conducted with beam-column subassemblages composed of a two-span beam to investigate the progressive collapse resistance of RC frames. Most study results reveal a strength-decreased transition phase in the nonlinear static load-deflection curve, which may induce dynamic snap-through response and increase the chord rotation demand for effective catenary action (ECA). In this study, the nonlinear static response is idealized as a piecewise linear curve and analytical pseudo-static response is derived for each linearized region to investigate the rotation demands for the ECA of the two-span RC beams. With analytical parameters determined from several published test results, numerical analysis results indicate that the rotation demand of 0.20 rad recommended in the design guidelines does not always guarantee the ECA. A higher rotation demand may be induced for the two-span beams designed with smaller span-to-depth ratios and it is better to use their peak arch resistance (PAR) as the collapse strength. A tensile reinforcement ratio not greater than 1.0% and a span-to-depth ratio not less than 7.0 are suggested for the two-span RC beams bridging the removed column if the ECA is expected for the collapse resistance. Also, complementary pseudo-static analysis is advised to verify the ECA under realistic dynamic column loss even though the static PAR is recovered in the nonlinear static response. A practical empirical formula is provided to estimate an approximate rotation demand for the ECA.

A recent development, a concrete-filled steel(CFS) pier is an alternative to a reinforced concrete bridge pier in an urban area, because of its fast construction and excellent ductility against earthquakes. Therefore, the guide of a seismic design value is derived from tests of CFS piers in order to apply it to a practical seismic design.
