Of several approaches for future Internet, separating two properties of IP address into locator and identifier, is being considered as a highly likely solution. IETF's LISP (Locator ID Separation Protocol) is proposed for this architecture. In particular, the LISP model easily allows for device mobility through simple update of information at MS (Mapping Server) without a separate protocol. In recent years, some of the models supporting device mobility using such LISP attributes have emerged; however, most of them have the limitation for seamless mobility support due to the frequent MS information updates and the time required for the updates. In this paper, PMIPv6 (Proxy Mobile IPv6) model is applied for mobility support in LISP model. PMIPv6 is a method that can support mobility based on network without the help of device; thus, this we define anew the behavior of functional modules (LMA, MAG and MS) to fit this model to the LISP environment and present specifically procedures of device registration, data transfer, route optimization and handover. In addition, our approach improves the communication performance using three tunnels identified with locators between mobile node and corresponding node and using a route optimized tunnel between MN's MAG and CN's MAG. Finally, it allows for seamless mobility by designing a sophisticated handover procedure.
With the recent growth in smartphone services, the "mobile" environment has become a key factor to consider in the design of the future Internet. In this paper, we propose Mobile-Oriented Future Internet (MOFI), which is a new architecture for the future Internet for mobile-oriented environments. The MOFI architecture is designed with three functional features: global identifier and local locator in the identifier-locator separation, query-first data delivery for route optimization, and distributed control of identifier-locator mapping. The proposed architecture and functional operations are implemented and tested using the Linux platform. From the experiment results, we see that the MOFI architecture performs better than the existing identifier-locator separation schemes, such as Proxy Mobile IP and Host Identity Protocol, in terms of data throughout, mapping control overhead, and handover delay.

In this paper, we propose the virtual interface management scheme on the multi-mode mobile node for supporting multiple connections to various access networks in fixed mobile convergence (FMC) networks. The proposed scheme supports the virtualization of multiple physical network interfaces by presenting only the virtual interface to beyond IP layers and hiding physical network interfaces from them. In the proposed scheme, only one IP address is allocated to virtual interface without any IP allocations to physical network interfaces. Therefore, the proposed scheme does not change its IP address and keep it during the vertical handover, so that it can support the seamless handover of real-time multimedia services among heterogeneous access networks. The proposed scheme is implemented on the multi-mode mobile node with multiple network interfaces by using NDIS (Network Driver Interface Specifications) libraries. Through the mobility test-bed and the test application of virtual interface, we evaluate and analyze the performance of the proposed scheme.

MIP), HMIP(Hierarchical MIP) 그리고 PMIP(Proxy MIP)까지 제안되었다.

The existing mobility management schemes do not fully support the next generation network, which is composed of IP-based core network and various access networks. Currently, ETRI has been developing the AIMS (Access Independent Mobility Service) system which satisfies the ITU-T requirements of mobility management in the next generation network. The AIMS system is designed to provide a mobile host with a fast and reliable mobility service among heterogeneous access networks. Recently, many user devices have multiple communication interfaces, e.g., 3G and WLAN, and thus they can make two or more network connections at the same time. In this paper, we design a scheme of flow mobility, i.e., the movement of selected data flows from one access technology to another, to be applied in the AIMS system, and verify the proposed scheme through the NS-3 simulation study. From the simulation results, we can know that the proposed flow mobility scheme can utilize the network resource efficiently in the heterogeneous mobile networks.

The Internet is becoming increasingly diverse and complex, the needs of user's convenience is also various and increased. The task forces have been working on how to design the future Internet in satisfaction of user's require and mobility management is one of the key issues to be considered. mobility management in the future Internet is still being designed in an "all-in-one" way where all management functions are tightly kept at a single location and this results in cost inefficiency that can be an obstruction to constructing flexible systems. In this paper, we propose a cost-effective function-distributed mobility management scheme that can enable more flexible future Internet construction. Furthermore, we show the effectiveness of our proposed system via a cost analysis and computer simulation with a random walk mobility model.
This paper proposes a new agent based mechanism called a Multicast Handoff Agent (MHA) to reduce handoff latency for IP multicast. The MHA acts as a proxy for an Internet Group Management Protocol (IGMP) of Mobile Nodes (MNs) at each Base Station (BS) and keeps information for members of multicast groups in a cell. When an MN moves to a next cell, the MHA immediately sends unsolicited reports without waiting for the IGMP query. The mechanism was evaluated through simulation and analysis and compared with the IGMPv2 for micro-mobility and the IGMP traffic. Simulation results show that handoff latency for micro-mobility can be largely reduced and the IGMP control traffic on the wireless links during the duration of membership can be eliminated. Thus, this mechanism is superior to the existing mechanism in both micro-mobility and battery duration, as the need not to reply to a query conserves battery power.

With the rapid development of heterogeneous emerging wireless technologies and numerous types of mobile devices, the need to support robust mobile video streaming based on the seamless handover in Future Internet is growing. To support the seamless handover, several IP-based mobility management protocols such as Mobile IPv6 (MIPv6), fast handover for the MIPv6 (FMIPv6), Hierarchical MIPv6 (HMIPv6) and Proxy Mobile IPv6 (PMIPv6) were developed. However, MIPv6 depreciates the Quality-of-Service (QoS) and FMIPv6 is not robust for the video services in heterogeneous emerging wireless networks when the Mobile Node (MN) may move to another visited network in contrast with its anticipation. In Future Internet, the possibility of mobile video service failure is more increased because mobile users consisting of multiple wireless network interfaces (WNICs) can frequently change the access networks according to their mobility in heterogeneous wireless access networks such as 3Generation (3G), Wireless Fidelity (Wi-Fi), Worldwide Interoperability for Microwave Access (WiMax) and Bluetooth co-existed. And in this environment, seamless mobility is coupled according to user preferences, enabling mobile users to be "Always Best Connected" (ABC) so that Quality of Experience is optimised and maintained. Even though HMIPv6 and PMIPv6 are proposed for the location management, handover latency enhancement, they still have limit of local mobility region. In this paper, we propose a robust mobile video streaming in Heterogeneous Emerging Wireless Systems. In the proposed scheme, the MN selects the best-according to an appropriate metric-wireless technology for a robust video streaming service among all wireless technologies by reducing the handover latency and initiation time when handover may fail. Through performance evaluation, we show that our scheme provides more robust mechanism than other schemes.

In Distributed Mobility Management (DMM) protocol, the mobility functions are distributed to network edge closer to mobile users. DMM protocol has some advantages of low-cost traffic delivery, optimized routing path, high scalability. However, it needs many mobile anchors to exchange signaling messages and it results in a high signaling cost. Thus, previous works suggested the hybrid DMM protocol to reduce the high signaling cost for long-live sessions and this paper extends a hybrid scheme to the NEMO environment. The mobile routers are installed at vehicles and can move together with several mobile devices. So we can define the high-mobility property for mobile routers and suggest the hybrid scheme using this property. According to the high-mobility property of mobile routers, we can distribute the mobile anchors or allocate a centralized mobile anchor. In this paper, we mathematically analyze the performance of the proposed NEMO-enabled hybrid DMM protocol and show superior performance.
