In this study, 50 ABE-type hard hats were procured from five certified commercial manufacturers, and shock absorption tests were conducted in accordance with Protective Equipment Safety Certification Notice No. 2020-35. The tests were performed under both high- and low-temperature conditions, adhering to safety helmet testing standards. The highest shock transmission ranges were recorded in the tests, with an average energy range of 2,600-4,108 N at high temperatures and 2,316-3,991 N at low temperatures. All five hard hat models demonstrated a maximum transmitted impact force below 4,450 N, without any loss of cap and attachment functionality, confirming their compliance with performance standards. Furthermore, we evaluated the side impact performance of the safety helmets of each company, with an average range of 4,722-5,267 N. Company A exhibited the lowest measurement at 4,722 N. Comparing these results with international safety standards and the national shock absorption test criteria, it was observed that the maximum transmitted shock value using government-specified impact weight falls within the range of 4,450-5,000 N. However, it was noted that developed countries have established specific standards for the side impact forces on safety helmets, which are legally mandated. Consequently, it is imperative for South Korea to enhance its safety helmet side impact performance test methodology to align with domestic standards in the future.

Purpose : This study aims to identify key factors for predicting dropout risk at the university level and to provide a foundation for policy development aimed at dropout prevention. This study explores the optimal machine learning algorithm by comparing the performance of various algorithms using data on college students' dropout risks. Methods : We collected data on factors influencing dropout risk and propensity were collected from N University. The collected data were applied to several machine learning algorithms, including random forest, decision tree, artificial neural network, logistic regression, support vector machine (SVM), k-nearest neighbor (k-NN) classification, and Naive Bayes. The performance of these models was compared and evaluated, with a focus on predictive validity and the identification of significant dropout factors through the information gain index of machine learning. Results : The binary logistic regression analysis showed that the year of the program, department, grades, and year of entry had a statistically significant effect on the dropout risk. The performance of each machine learning algorithm showed that random forest performed the best. The results showed that the relative importance of the predictor variables was highest for department, age, grade, and residence, in the order of whether or not they matched the school location. Conclusion : Machine learning-based prediction of dropout risk focuses on the early identification of students at risk. The types and causes of dropout crises vary significantly among students. It is important to identify the types and causes of dropout crises so that appropriate actions and support can be taken to remove risk factors and increase protective factors. The relative importance of the factors affecting dropout risk found in this study will help guide educational prescriptions for preventing college student dropout.

Due to its high theoretical capacity, Silicon (Si) has shown great potential as an anode material for lithium-ion batteries (LIBs). However, the large volume change of Si during cycling leads to poor cycling stability and low Coulombic efficiency. In this study, we synthesized Si/Carbon C45:Graphene composites using a ball-milling method with a fixed Si content (20%) and investigated the influence of the C45/Gr ratio on the electrochemical performance of the composites. The results showed that carbon C45 networks can provide good conductivity, but tend to break at Si locations, resulting in poor conductivity. However, the addition of graphene helps to reconnect the broken C45 networks, improving the conductivity of the composite. Moreover, the C45 can also act as a protective coating around Si particles, reducing the volume expansion of Si during charging/discharging cycles. The Si/C45:Gr (70:10 wt%) composite exhibits improved electrochemical performance with high capacity (~1660 mAh g-1 at 0.1 C) and cycling stability (~1370 mAh g-1 after 100 cycles). This work highlights the effective role of carbon C45 and graphene in Si/C composites for enhancing the performance of Si-based anode materials for LIBs.
This study evaluates the convergence radiation protection performance by measuring the PSNR(peak signal-to-noise ratio) values of the image J in the image evaluation program based on increased relative to this exposure of radiation workers.The aim of this study was to evaluate radiation protection performance of apron for design of it's basic information. Method was used to PSNR of Image J program and good condition apron was more than 27dB, the PSNR value of poor condition apron appeared to be less than 24dB. The result is the normality were satisfied distribution and T-test values were statistically significant with p<0.001. Results of evaluation of the performance protective apron through the more easily accessible experimental conditions and methods in the clinical was confirmed distinctly different. in order to reduce the radiation exposure we need to evaluate convergence protection performance and to be having a good performance apron.

This study was conducted to investigate nursing students' safety-climate: perception and performance of standard precautions for healthcare-associated infection control. We also identified actors influencing performance of standard precautions. Data were collected from 246 junior and senior nursing students at nine colleges in D city from July to September, 2016. The mean score of performance was significantly lower than that of perception in all areas of standard precautions. The biggest difference between perception and performance was in the usage of personal protective equipment and safe injection practices. We also detected significant positive correlations among safety-climate, perception, and performance of standard precautions. In the regression analysis, performance of standard precautions was influenced by safety-climate and grade accounting for 10.7% of variance. To improve healthcare-associated infection control among nursing students, safer and more supportive practical environments need to be provided, and new training strategies such as simulation education need to be expanded.
Due to change in circumstances in the 2000s such as severe birthrate decline and shortened military service period, the armed forces of the Republic of Korea is currently turning to technologies and equipments from manpower, developing it to become high-tech, high-speed, and complex, resulting in an environment in which a single mistake could cause a mass mortality crisis.It is also evident that, considering aspects such as safety training curriculums and achievements of advanced countries and private education, hands-on training is a must in preventing suicides and accidents in the military, and establishing safety training centers is crucial for systematic and effective hands-on training.Soldiers who are joining the army as of now have experienced the Internet ever since they were born and easily use both virtual and augmented reality, and the current level of science and technology has developed to the point where most of the public safety experience centers are able to be replaced by virtual and augmented reality (VR/AR). Therefore, considering the aspects such as installation space, construction costs, maintenance costs, user characteristics, and education effects, other than for those trainings where real models and objects are more effective such as first aid training, it is with a strong recommendation that establishing military safety training facilities with VR/AR (Virtual and augmented reality) is a must in the coming future. We have derived the need for hands-on training by considering the development of virtual and augmented reality (VR/AR), analysis of operation status of the public safety experience centers, characteristics of military units, installation and maintenance costs, and proposed plan to establish safety training centers where effective training performance can be achieved at a lower cost than the public safety experience center. In addition, we suggested the scale of the required safety training center and the composition of the experience rooms considering the number of trainees and the environment of each military units. Given this analysis it will contribute to the prevention of military safety and suicide by building a safety training center in the future.

This study attempted to develop the technology by gaseous ozone for decontaminating building affected by a model of biological weapon agent(Bacillus subtilis spores) instead of Bacillus anthracis spore. The use of ozone is attractive method from a practical point of view of decontamination procedure since it has strong oxidation power but no residue after application. We examined the disinfection efficiency of gaseous ozone to Bacillus subtilis spores which suspension was sprayed on different material surfaces and dried. Three different types of gaseous ozone was applied : dry ozone, dry ozone with humidified air, and water bubbled wet ozone. Dry ozone(1500ppm) failed to achieve any significant inactivation for 2hrs. However, six log reduction of B. subtilis spore was achieved within 30min by 1500ppm of water bubbled wet ozone. This result shows the noticeable inactivation efficiency by gaseous ozone compared with previous studies. Good performance by wet ozone was also found for military material surface.(i.e. : gas mask hood, protective garments, army peinted metal surface).

A Tesla coil is an electrical resonant transformer circuit invented by Nikola Tesla in 1891. It is used to produce high-voltage, low-current, high frequency alternating-current electricity. Tesla coil can generate a long streamer with several million volts of electricity as a high voltage device. It is basically consists of a voltage transformer, high voltage capacitor, spark gap, primary coil, secondary coil and toroid. It is difficult to appear in the output size of the streamer is controlled by the spark gap. The general decision method of the length of streamer is to display the electric output in accordance with the design specifications in initial development plan. Design specifications and the electric output is determined by the application of facilities. In this paper the spark gap is replaced with periodic switching semiconductor device to control output voltage easily in order to apply overvoltage protective circuit due to a secondary coil and a performance test. In these days, their main use is for entertainment and educational displays of the museum, although small coils are still used as leak detectors for high vacuum systems.

In this paper, we propose a distance relaying algorithm using a Discrete Fourier Transform (DFT)-based modified phasor estimation method to eliminate the adverse influence of exponentially decaying DC offsets. Most distance relays are based on estimating phasors of the voltage and current signals. A DFT is generally used to calculate the phasor of the fundamental frequency component in digital protective relays. However, the output of the DFT contains an error due to exponentially decaying DC offsets. For this reason, distance relays have a tendency to over-reach or under-reach in the presence of DC offset components in a fault current. Therefore, the decaying DC components should be taken into consideration when calculating the phasor of the fundamental frequency component of a relaying signal. The error due to DC offsets in a DFT is calculated and eliminated using the outputs of an even-sample-set DFT and an odd-sample-set DFT, so that the phasor of the fundamental component can be accurately estimated. The performance of the proposed algorithm is evaluated for a-phase to ground faults on a 345 kV, 50 km, simple overhead transmission line. The Electromagnetic Transient Program (EMTP) is used to generate fault signals. The evaluation results indicate that adopting the proposed algorithm in distance relays can effectively suppress the adverse influence of DC offsets.
