The cases of identification forgery and counterfeiting are increasing under the current identification system, which was established based on social conditions and administrative environments over 20 years ago. This leads to an increase of various criminal acts including illegal loan using fake ID and a number of damages caused out of good intentions that result in interference with the operations of public organizations. In addition, according to the advancement of information society, privacy protection has emerged as an important issue. However, ID card exposes individuals' personal information, such as names, resident registration numbers, photos, addresses and fingerprints, and thus the incidents associated with illegal use of personal information are increasing continuously. Accordingly, this study aimed at examining the issues of ID card forgery/counterfeiting and privacy protection and at proposing a next-generation identification system to supplement such weaknesses. The top priority has been set as prevention of forgery/counterfeiting and privacy protection in order to ensure the most important function of national identification system, which is user identification.
Bekesy measured the sound transformation system of the middle ear 49 years ago. According to his reports, a ratio between the size of ear drum and the size of oval window is 17 : 1, and the lever function of the ossicles is physiologically 1.3 : 1. Therefore, the hearing might be aggravated to 27.5㏈ in the case of the vanishment of 3 ossicles. In 1952, Wullstein reported 5 types of tympanop-lasty and the fourth type among them was especially named for the sound-protection. The oval window is only exposed by the sound pressure and the round window is not exposed. According to the application by this idea, the post-operative hearing might be improved until 27.5㏈. Mean while, in 1942, Onchi verified through his experiment that the results of Bekesy's measurement was not completely conformed to Onchi result. Bekesy measured the sound pressure on the stapes plate of the oval window, on the other hand, Onchi measured the sound pressure on the surface of the perilymph of the oval window after removing the stapes plate(Fig. 1).(Figure omitted) The difference of their experiment is recognized that the impedance of the stapes plate exists or not (Fig. 1). Both Audiogrums are compared as Fig. 2. The result of IV type of tympanoplasty is success ful in 54% as the Table 1. (Table Omitted) The reason of unsatisfactory is caused by the thick and unmovable window-membrane and by the closing of air passage to the round window. The closing of the air passage to the round window is occurred by the adhesion between the grafting membrane and the surface of promontorium. In order to preserve this adhesion, I produce to transplantate the mucous membrane of the lip to the bone surface of tympanic cavity after removing the granulation tissue of the tympanic cavity and to form a membranous canal for the sake of air passage (Fig. 3). (Figure Omitted) The post-operative hearing by this method is shown as Fig. 4, 5. In other words, the post-operative sound pressure entered into the cochlea directly, by way of the oval window only, not by way of the round window, as a theorie of the sound protection. The automotive industry and academic research have been continuously conducting research on standardization such as AUTOSAR (AUTomotive Open System ARchitecture) and ISO26262 to solve problems such as safety and efficiency caused by the complexity of electric/electronic architecture of automotive. AUTOSAR is an automotive standard software platform that has a layered structure independent of MCU (Micro Controller Unit) hardware, and improves product reliability through software modularity and reusability. And, ISO26262, an international standard for automotive functional safety and suggests a method to minimize errors in automotive ECU (Electronic Control Unit)s by defining the development process and results for the entire life cycle of automotive electrical/electronic systems. These design methods are variously applied in representative automotive safety-critical systems. However, since the functional and safety requirements are different according to the characteristics of the safety-critical system, it is essential to research the AUTOSAR functional safety design method specialized for each application domain. In this paper, a software functional safety mechanism design method using AUTOSAR is proposed, and a new failure management framework is proposed to ensure the high reliability of the product. The AUTOSAR functional safety mechanism consists of memory partitioning protection, timing monitoring protection, and end-to-end protection. The fault management framework is composed of several safety SWCs to maintain the minimum function and performance even if a fault occurs during the operation of a safety-critical system. Finally, the proposed method is applied to the Shift-by-Wire system design to prove the validity of the proposed method.

Background: Protopanaxatriol (PPT) is a secondary intestinal metabolite of ginsenoside in ginseng. Although the effects of PPT have been reported in various diseases including cancer, diabetes and inflammatory diseases, the skin protective effects of PPT are poorly understood. Methods: HaCaT cells were treated with PPT in a dose-dependent manner. mRNA and protein levels which related to skin barrier and hydration were detected compared with retinol. Luciferase assay was performed to explore the relative signaling pathway. Western blot was conducted to confirm these pathways and excavated further signals. Results: PPT enhanced the expression of filaggrin (FLG), transglutaminase (TGM)-1, claudin, occludin and hyaluronic acid synthase (HAS) -1, -2 and -3. The mRNA expression levels of FLG, TGM-1, HAS-1 and HAS-2 were suppressed under NF-κB inhibition. PPT significantly augmented NF-κB-luc activity and upregulated Src/AKT/NF-κB signaling. In addition, PPT also increased phosphorylation of the mitogen-activated protein kinases (MAPKs) ERK, JNK and p38 and upstream MAPK activators (MEK and MKK). Furthermore, transcriptional activity of AP-1 and CREB, which are downstream signaling targets of MAPK, was enhanced by PPT. Conclusion: PPT improves skin barrier function and hydration through Src/AKT/NF-κB and MAPK signaling. Therefore, PPT may be a valuable component for cosmetics or treating skin disorders.

The Protection Profile(PP) is a common security function and detailed statement of assurance requirements in a specific class of Information Technology security products such as firewall and smart card. The parts of TOE security environment in the PP have to be described about assumption, treat and security policy through analyzing purpose of TOE. In this paper, we present a new security policy derivation among TOE security environment parts in the PP. Our survey guides the organizational security policy statements in CC scheme through collected and analyzed hundred of real policy statements from certified and published real PPs and CC Toolbox/PKB that is included security policy statements for DoD. From the result of the survey, we present a new generic organizational policy statements list and propose a organizational security policy derivation method by using the list.
Background: A wide range of environmental factors, such as diseases, nutritional deficiencies, ageing, hormonal imbalances, stress, and ultraviolet (UV) radiation, may affect the structure and function of the skin that covers the entire surface of the human body. In this study, we investigated roles of red ginseng oil (RGO) in enhancing skin functions, including hair growth and skin protection, using mouse models. Methods: For hair growth experiment, shaved dorsal skins of C57BL/6 mice were topically applied with vehicle, RGO, RGO's major compounds, or minoxidil for consecutive 21 days and skin tissues were examined the hair growth promoting capacity. For skin protection experiment, SKH-1 hairless mice were topically applied with vehicle or RGO twice a day for three days prior to exposure to UVC radiation at 20 kJ/cm2. Skin tissues were collected to evaluate skin protective effects of RGO. Results: Topical application of RGO to C57BL/6 mice effectively promoted hair regeneration by inducing early telogen-to-anagen transition and significantly increasing the density and bulb diameter of hair follicles. Major compounds, including linoleic acids and β-sitosterol, contributed to RGO-promoted hair growth. Treatment with RGO as well as its major components upregulated expression of hair growth-related proteins. Furthermore, in SKH-1 hairless mice, RGO had a protective effect against UVC-induced skin damage by inhibiting inflammation and apoptosis, as well as inducing cytoprotective systems. Conclusion: These data suggest that RGO may be a potent agent for improving skin health and thereby preventing and/or treating hair loss and protecting skin against UV radiation.
This article aims to shed light on the wartime labor mobilization of prisoners on a large scale in/across colonial Korea and beyond during the late wartime period. More specifically, this article reveals the logic and mode of mobilization, and sorts out nationwide mobilization cases in colonial Korea. To this end, this article draws on documents and magazines published by the criminal administration of the Japanese Government-General of Korea, as well as the memoirs of prisoners and prison staff including prison administrators and prison chaplains. With the onset of the wartime system, the labor work in prisons centered on the production of military supplies. In 1943, the labor mobilization began to organize the National Protection Corps and dispatch them to remote workplaces. For example, at the requests of the military, prisoners were selected and sent to Hainan Island, while others were sent to military factories and mining fields in the northern part of the country. The authorities specified and adjusted the criteria for imprisonment based on education, physical strength, and other physical and mental conditions. Unconverted ideological offenders were excluded from the mobilization, and instead put under separate control. In preparation for mobilization, the prisoners trained in military drills, received Japanese language education, and underwent assimilation as imperial subjects through the preaching in prison. In order to induce prisoners to volunteer, a legislation system based on the shortening of the prison terms, including the parole system, was also promoted under the wartime system. As a result, prisoners were forced to work harder and faster even under the lowest of wages, poor food and poor housing conditions, and they also filled vacancies in managerial positions by serving as supervisory assistants. The reward system for them, however, did not function properly towards the end of the war, and the number of escapes and infectious outbreaks, as well as mortality rates rapidly increased under the harsh conditions.
This study identified design elements of the functions required for children's ski pants. Data for this study were collected through questionnaire surveys conducted among children's ski instructors and children's sportswear developers. Five functionalities of children's skiwear were evaluated: mobility, stability, comfort, protection, and convenience. A total of 25 functional design elements related to the patterns, design details, and physical characteristics of fabrics for ski garments, were evaluated. The results of this study are as follows. First, children's sportswear developers evaluated that the pattern elements were important. Most of the pattern design elements highly related to mobility. Children's ski instructors' appraisal was that the height of the back waist was the important feature. Second, regarding the design details, children's ski instructors evaluated the size adjustment function and ventilation system as important elements. Many design detail elements were highly related in respect of stability, comfort, protection, and convenience. Third, the physical characteristics of fabric were strongly associated with mobility, comfort, and protection. As regards the physical characteristics of fabric, children's ski instructors valued anti-fouling highly, but children's sportswear developers attached more importance to the weight of the fabric. The results of this study will be useful in designing functional ski pants for children of elementary and intermediate ski levels. Since there may be limitations related to the ski level and age of children wearing ski pants, it is suggested that follow-up studies according to various groups of the ski pant wearers should be done.

In recent years, as LED display systems are actively spread, study on effective control methods for an LED driver for driving the systems has been in progress. The most representative among them is the uniform brightness control method for the LED driver channel. In this paper, we propose an LED driver IC for BLU with current compensation and system protection functions to minimize channel luminance deviation. It is designed for current accuracy within ±3% between channels and a channel current of 150 mA. In order to satisfy the design specifications, the channel amplifier offset was canceled out by a chopping operation using a channel-driving PWM signal. Also, a pre-charge function was implemented to minimize the fast operation speed and luminance deviation between channels. LED error (open, short), switch TR short detection, and operating temperature protection circuits were designed to protect the IC and BLU systems. The proposed IC was fabricated using a Magnachip 0.35-um CMOS process and verified using Cadence and Synopsys' Design Tool. The fabricated LED driver IC has current accuracy within ±1.5% between channels and 150-mA channel output characteristics. The error detection circuits were verified by a test board.

In pressurized heavy water reactors, workers who enter radiation controlled areas must submit their urine samples to health physicists after radiation work; these samples are then used to monitor internal radiation exposure from tritium intake. This procedure assumes that the samples submitted represent tritium concentration inside the body at equilibrium. According to both technical reports from the International Commission on Radiological Protection and experimental results from Canadian nuclear utilities, tritium inside the body generally reaches equilibrium concentration after approximately 2-3 hours of intake. In practice, urine samples can be submitted either before the 2 hours mark or after several hours of radiation work because of the numerous tasks that workers must perform and their frequent entries during nuclear power plant maintenance. In this paper, tritium concentration in workers' urine samples was measured as a function of time submitted after radiation work. Based on the measurement results, changes in the tritium concentration inside the body and its effect on internal dose assessment were then analyzed. As a result, it was found that tritium concentration reaches equilibrium concentration before the 2 hours mark for most workers' urine samples.
