  • This research is to investigate the effect of the improvement of investment environments with investment incentive on Korean national economy by looking into the foreign investment support system in Korea. To this end, first research model was set up based on our literary study and case study was conducted on 150 foreign companies that were located in industrial complex for foreign companies, received the tax benefit and government subsidization. And it was found that even though the foreign companies were contributing to the national economy in general such as in the area of production, export, employment, development of technology, there was no significant contributory difference between the investment incentive beneficiary and non-beneficiary foreign companies. Therefore it deemed reasonable to reconsider the way Korean government supports foreign companies in Korea and to reinforce foreign companies' relevance to national policy agenda with additional incentives to foreign companies located in comparatively less developed areas. As a way to promote foreign investment, promotion of investment infra such as improvement of follow-up services, openness to foreign investment, industrial deregulations in capital area, revitalization of free economic zone, efficient system to promote foreign investment and the reinforcement of public relations were considered necessary, especially the upgrading of economic structure and the integrated management of domestic and foreign investors deemed necessary for the optimal distribution of the industries.

  • Five diffusion models are estimated using three different foreign exchange rates to find an appropriate model for each. Daily spot exchange rates expressed as the prices of 1 euro, 1 British pound and 100 Japanese yen in US dollars, respectively denoted by USD/EUR, USD/GBP, and USD/100JPY, are used. The maximum likelihood estimation method is implemented after deriving an approximate log-transition density function (log-TDF) of the diffusion processes because the true log-TDF is unknown. Of the five models, the most general model is the best fit for the USD/GBP, and USD/100JPY exchange rates, but it is not the case for the case of USD/EUR. Although we could not find any evidence of the mean-reverting property for the USD/EUR exchange rate, the USD/GBP, and USD/100JPY exchange rates show the mean-reversion behavior. Interestingly, the volatility function of the USD/EUR exchange rate is increasing in the exchange rate while the volatility functions of the USD/GBP and USD/100Yen exchange rates have a U-shape. Our results reveal that more care has to be taken when determining a diffusion model for the exchange rate. The results also imply that we may have to use a more general diffusion model than those proposed in the literature when developing economic theories for the behavior of the exchange rate and pricing foreign currency options or derivatives.

  • This study analyzed 1,890 KRF journals to understand the current situation and problems related to copyright management by journal publishers. The results of the study are as follows: 32.6% of journals did not provide any copyright notice, 77.1% of 1,141 journals which gave copyright information with regulation documents did not specify the type of author's property right to be transferred and most of the journals which owned copyright transferred from the author did not specify the permission needed to use their article. This study suggested that journal publishers establish the object and method for distribution of journal articles and then develop and publish their copyright policy suited to their own objective.

  • According to the United Nations Convention on the International Sale of Goods, the Seller must deliver the goods, hand over any documents relating to the them and transfer the property the to the goods as required by the contract, and buyer must pay the price for the goods and take delivery of them as required by the contract. In particular, the seller provides the documents is important. If the documents are discrepancies in credit, the beneficiary may not receive the payment. So It is important to study on conditions of documents in international trade. Documents provided by the seller shall be determined by express terms. If there is no agreement on the express terms, it shall be determined by the implied terms or governing law terms. In practice Seller shall provide the documents are as follows, For example, transport documents, commercial invoice, certificate of origin, insurance policy, packing list, inspection certificate etc. As stated above if it can not be determined by express terms, it is determined by the implied terms. In international trade, leading to the implied terms is incoterms(R) 2010 and UCP 600. Incoterms(R) 2010 define the seller must provide the goods and the commercial in conformity with the sales contract and any other evidence of conformity that may be required by the contract and UCP 600 are rules that apply to documentary credit. This paper, the practical utility between Incoterms(R) 2010 and UCP 600 is studied.

  • We understand the real form with light and it make us to visualize the world. Hence, light have got a great influence on formative arts in many ways from ancient time to now. Invisible and substantial light is described by many representational tools in various way and project the illusion. Projected illusion caused the change in human and general social culture. For such a reason, the representation of light is most important issue without distinction of age, space and genre. Now we are faced with CGI light just same as real light. So we need to study about properties of CGI light representation.

  • The future of appraisal industry looks negative in the reality of change of the property market and over-competition of the field. Unless Constituent members of appraisal industry cope actively with the changing circumstances the profit structure of their company will get worse and they will finally fall behind in the competition. The best policy to survive from the changing circumstances in the limited appraisal market is to provide better service and improve its structure in order to have differential competitiveness. The purpose of this study is to describe the relation between the service factors of appraisal industry and customer satisfaction for providing more effective and high quality appraisal service.

  • In industrial production-distribution systems, production and purchasing rates, associated inventories, and sales are very critical for the profits of each component in the system. The objective of this study is to investigate an effective information control scheme for a production -distribution system by automatic feedback control techniques. In this work, a dynamic control scheme that has an integrated -error with state-feedback and filtering (ISFF) is proposed as a new algorithm for a dynamic controller. Generalized formulations of the dynamic control are proposed in the continuous-time and discrete-time cases. A methodology for an evaluation of ISFF controller gains using the eigen structure property is presented. When an upper-limit is imposed on the production capability by available factory space and capital equipment, supervisory control is provided to avoid integrator-windup and deterioration of system performance.

  • Concurrent competition for finite resources by multiple parts in flexible manufacturing systems(FMS's) and inappropriate initial marking or net structure of Petri net with share resources results in deadlock. This is an important issue to be addressed in the operation of the systems. Deadlock is a system state so that some working processes can never be finished. Deadlock situation is due to a wrong resource allocation policy. In fact, behind a deadlock problem there is a circular wait situation for a set of resources. Deadlock can disable an entire system and make automated operation impossible. Particularly, an unmanned system cannot recover from such a status and a set of jobs waits indefinitely for never-to-be-released resources. In this paper, we proposed a deadlock prevention method using siphon and trap of Petri net. It is based on potential deadlock which are siphon that eventually became empty. This method prevents the deadlock by the control of transition fire and initial marking in the Petri net. An given example of FMS is shown to illustrate our results with deadlock-free.

  • The purpose of this study is to provide a legal and institutional perspective for distributing and reusing GIS data in Korea. Along with the rapid growth of GIS market and demands on GIS service, legal and institutional issues for distributing, reusing and securing GIS data are arising. Each country has its own the law, policy and institution of GIS data that are directly related to intellectual property. After exploring laws and institutions regarding GIS in United States, Canada, Australia, New Zealand and Korea(Act No.6201), this paper presents a guide for distributing and reusing GIS data in Korea.

  • The magnetic field of the extremely low frequency that occurs in the substation facilities was surveyed to present ways to broaden understanding of the magnetic field characteristics. We have investigated the level of the magnetic fields in the substation areas and control rooms of 25 substations in the metropolitan area in accordance with the measurement method of IEC CISPR(IEC/TC106 PT 62110). We propose objective and reliable policy approaches such as the electromagnetic field certification system to more accurately understand the property of magnetic field.
