  • It has been little known when an Artinian point quotient has the strong Lefschetz property. In this paper, we find the Artinian point star configuration quotient having the strong Lefschetz property. We prove that if ${\mathbb{X}}$ is a star configuration in ${\mathbb{P}}^2$ of type s defined by forms (a-quadratic forms and (s - a)-linear forms) and ${\mathbb{Y}}$ is a star configuration in ${\mathbb{P}}^2$ of type t defined by forms (b-quadratic forms and (t - b)-linear forms) for $b=deg({\mathbb{X}})$ or $deg({\mathbb{X}})-1$, then the Artinian ring $R/(I{\mathbb_{X}}+I{\mathbb_{Y}})$ has the strong Lefschetz property. We also show that if ${\mathbb{X}}$ is a set of (n+ 1)-general points in ${\mathbb{P}}^n$, then the Artinian quotient A of a coordinate ring of ${\mathbb{X}}$ has the strong Lefschetz property.

  • In this paper we deal with some shadowing properties of discrete dynamical systems on a compact metric space via the density of subdynamical systems. Let $f:X{\rightarrow}X$ be a continuous map of a compact metric space X and A be an f-invariant dense subspace of X. We show that if $f{\mid}_A:A{\rightarrow}A$ has the periodic shadowing property, then f has the periodic shadowing property. Also, we show that f has the finite average shadowing property if and only if $f{\mid}_A$ has the finite average shadowing property.

  • Let (X, d) be a compact metric space with metric d and let f : $X{\rightarrow}X$ be a continuous map. In this paper, we consider that for a subset ${\Lambda}$, a map f has the eventual shadowing property if and only if f has the eventual shadowing property on ${\Lambda}$. Moreover, a map f has the eventual shadowing property if and only if f has the eventual shadowing property in ${\Lambda}$.

  • Let X be a normed linear space, M a subspace of X, and V a subspace of the dual space $X^*$. In [3], we studied the Hahn-Banach extension property in V. Here we give the definition and a characterization of the Hahn-Banach extension property in V.

  • In 1983 Harmand and Lima [5] proved that if X is a Banach space for which K(X), the space of compact linear operators on X, is an M-ideal in L(X), the space of bounded linear operators on X, then it has the metric compact approximation property. A strong converse of the above result holds if X is a closed subspace of either $\elll_p(1 < p < \infty) or c_0 [2,15]$. In 1979 J. Johnson [7] actually proved that if X is a Banach space with the metric compact approximation property, then the annihilator K(X)^\bot$ of K(X) in $L(X)^*$ is the kernel of a norm-one projection in $L(X)^*$, which is the case if K(X) is an M-ideal in L(X).

  • In 1986, R. Huff [3] showed that a Dunford integrable function is Pettis integrable if and only if T : $X^*{\rightarrow}L_1(\mu)$ is weakly compact operator and {$T(K(F,\varepsilon))|F{\subset}X$, F : finite and ${\varepsilon}$ > 0} = {0}. In this paper, we introduce the notion of Bourgain property of real valued functions formulated by J. Bourgain [2]. We show that the class of pettis integrable functions is linear space and if lis bounded function with Bourgain property, then T : $X^{**}{\rightarrow}L_1(\mu)$ by $T(x^{**})=x^{**}f$ is $weak^*$ - to - weak linear operator. Also, if operator T : $L_1(\mu){\rightarrow}X^*$ with Bourgain property, then we show that f is Pettis representable.

  • It has been little known when an Artinian (point) quotient has the strong Lefschetz property. In this paper, we find the Artinian complete intersection quotient having the SLP. More precisely, we prove that if ${\mathbb{X}}$ is a complete intersection in ${\mathbb{P}}^2$ of type (2, 2) and ${\mathbb{Y}}$ is a finite set of points in ${\mathbb{P}}^2$ such that ${\mathbb{X}}{\cup}{\mathbb{Y}}$ is a basic configuration of type (2, a) with $a{\geq}3$ or (3, a) with a = 3, 4, 5, 6, then $R/(I_{\mathbb{X}}+I_{\mathbb{Y}})$ has the SLP. We also show that if ${\mathbb{X}}$ is a complete intersection in ${\mathbb{P}}^2$ of type (3, 2) and ${\mathbb{Y}}$ is a finite set of points in ${\mathbb{P}}^2$ such that ${\mathbb{X}}{\cup}{\mathbb{Y}}$ is a basic configuration of type (3, 3) or (3, 4), then $R/(I_{\mathbb{X}}+I_{\mathbb{Y}})$ has the SLP.

  • It is well-known that if char𝕜 = 0, then an Artinian monomial complete intersection quotient 𝕜[x1, …, xn]/(x1a1, …, xnan) has the strong Lefschetz property in the narrow sense, and it is decomposed by the direct sum of irreducible 𝖘𝖑2-modules. For an Artinian ring A = 𝕜[x1, x2, x3]/(x16, x26, x36), by the Schur-Weyl duality theorem, there exist 56 trivial representations, 70 standard representations, and 20 sign representations inside A. In this paper we find an explicit basis for A, which is compatible with the S3-module structure.

  • Let X and Y be independent identically distributed nondegenerate random variables with common absolutely continuous probability distribution function F(x) and the corresponding probability density function f(x) and $E(X^2)$<${\infty}$. Put Z = max(X, Y) and W = min(X, Y). In this paper, it is proved that Z - W and Z + W or$(X-Y)^2$ and X + Y are independent if and only if X and Y have normal distribution.

  • It is well known that if P(x,D) is an elliptic differential operator, with real analytic coefficients, and P(x,D)u = 0 in an open, connected subset .ohm..mem.R$^{n}$ , then u is real analytic in .ohm. Hence, if there exists x$_{0}$ .mem..ohm. such that u vanishes of .inf. order at x$_{0}$ , u must be identically 0. If a differential operator P(x, D) has the above property, we say that p(x,D) has the strong unique continuation property (s.u.c.p.). If, on the other hand, P(x,D)u = 0 in .ohm., and u = 0 in .ohm.', an open subset of .ohm., implies that u = 0 in .ohm. we say that P(x,D)u = 0 in .ohm., and suppu .contnd. K .contnd. .ohm implies that u = 0 in .ohm. we sat that P(x,D) has the weak unique continuation property (m.u.c.p.).
