  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the mechanical properties of floor slab structures with high-strength and lightweight CFRC panel using fly ash, PAN-derived and Pitch-derived carbon fiber. As a result, the flexural strength of CFRC is remarkably increased by CF contents, but compressive strength of the CFRC is not so increased as flexural strength. The bulk specific gravity is influenced by FA contents more than by CF contents, The compressive strength and the flexural strength are increased by FA contests, but decreased the case of 30% of contents. In order to increasing the flexural-carrying capacity of floor slab structures, it is recommended that the shape of anchor for reinforcement is required type-C and the spacing of anchor is required below 60mm.

  • To use the impact ball as a new standard floor impact source, the objective and subjective properties of the impact bali were investigated. The results showed that not only the objective properties of the impact ball such as the Impact force exposure level, mechanical impedance but also the psychological parameters were more similar to those of the human impact than the bang machine. In addition, most of the subjects chose the impact bail sound as the most similar sound to the human impact sound in the auditory experiment.

  • This study was carried out to develop the core technology for the manufacturing the flat floor panel with the bamboo grown in Damyang region maintaining its indigenous merits. Using capital bamboo(Phyllostachys bambusoides) of Damyang with superior physical and working properties, Authors have standardized the core technologies for the integrated production of flat floor panel using this superior bamboo i.e, washing, splitting, flattening, blasting, and overlaying over plywood. It is expected to increase the income from bamboo forest and to enhance the image of the eco-city, Damyang with this technological development. Additional quality assuring test and economical analysis for the industralization as building material will be performed.

  • A ceramic floor with improved thermal conductivity and efficiency has been developed in this study. The new ceramic floor minimizes the shrinkage rate to below 0.07% and shows almost no cleavage. There is no need to repaire the ceramic floor because its bottom surface is flat. It especially shows an excellent perfomance in the test of a compressive strength ($300kg/cm^2$ based on 28 days), a flexural strength ($64kg/cm^2$ based on 28 days), and a convenient pressing. It is lighter than the present floor and it is expected to be applicable for a self-leveling ceramic motar in the residences and apartments. It shows an excellent character in the thermal conductivity and other physical properties compare to the present cement mortar.

  • Cold-formed steel (CFS) sections are becoming an increasingly popular solution for constructing floors in residential, healthcare and education buildings. Their reduced weight, however, makes them prone to excessive vibrations, increasing the need for accurate prediction of CFS floor modal properties. By combining experimental modal analysis of a full-scale CFS framed building and its floors and their numerical finite element (FE) modelling this paper demonstrates that the existing methods (based on the best engineering judgement) for predicting CFS floor modal properties are unreliable. They can yield over 40% difference between the predicted and measured natural frequencies for important modes of vibration. This is because the methods were adopted from other floor types (e.g., timber or standard steel-concrete composite floors) and do not take into account specific features of CFS floors. Using the adjusted and then updated FE model, featuring semi-rigid connections led to markedly improved results. The first four measured and calculated CFS floor natural frequencies matched exactly and all relevant modal assurance criterion (MAC) values were above 90%. The introduction of flexible supports and more realistic modelling of the floor boundary conditions, as well as non-structural $fa{\c{c}}ade$ walls, proved to be crucial in the development of the new more successful modelling strategy. The process used to develop 10 identified and experimentally verified FE modelling parameters is based on published information and parameter adjustment resulting from FE model updating. This can be utilised for future design of similar lightweight steel floors in prefabricated buildings when checking their vibration serviceability, likely to be their governing design criterion.

  • In this study, the dynamic properties of a floor impact sound isolation pad expressed in terms of the natural frequency, the dynamic stiffness per unit area and the loss factor are measured by the resonant method. By using the measured dynamic properties, the vibration transmissibility diagram is obtained for each isolation pad, which is compared with the values tested by the impact sound sources at the room in an apartment. From the comparative results, it is found that the noise reduction Performances. of isolation pads are closely connected with the natural frequency and the dynamic stiffness per unit area.

  • Typical floor systems in contemporary tall buildings consist of reinforced concrete or composite metal deck over framing members and account for a majority of the structural weight of the building. The use of high-density materials, such as reinforced concrete and steel, increases the weight of floor systems, reducing the system's overall efficiency. With the introduction of high-performance materials, mainly mass timber products, and fiber-reinforced composites, in the construction industry, designers and engineers have multiple options to choose from when selecting structural materials. This paper discusses the application of mass timber and carbon fiber composites as structural materials in floor systems of tall buildings. The research focused on a comparative analysis of the structural system efficiency for five different design options for tall building floor systems. Finite Element Analysis (FEA) method was adopted to develop a simulation framework, and parametric structural models were simulated to evaluate the structural performance under specific loading conditions. Simulation results revealed the advantages of lightweight structural materials to improve system efficiency and reduce material consumption. The impact of mechanical properties of materials, loading conditions, and issues related to fire engineering and construction were briefly discussed, and future research topics were identified in conclusion.
