  • As the use of Information Technology is increasing, various kinds of IT service vendor proliferate. And most executives are trying to expand their field to online world. As the emphasis on Information Technology is inevitable, executives want to evaluate the service level they receive from IT service vendor. But. there's not yet the proper evaluation system for IT service. The evaluation systems like CMM, SPICE are process-focused. They don't give a look on the final product delivered to customer. On the other hand, the one that evaluate the customer satisfaction like ACSI, NCSI are too over-focused that they can't express the specific characteristics on the subjects that are deemed to evaluate. The focus is blurred. To overcome these limitations of existing framework, and to increase the value of evaluation, this study presents the evaluation system of IT service (afterwards, named as 'The new evaluation system') that derives process factors from IT service CMM, and evaluate customer satisfaction of IT service. Finally, the model was applied to the actual case to examine the practicality of the framework.

  • The core value of the college of Interdisciplinary & Creative Studies is rely on the supporting system which can develop the learners' practical 'performing' competency. For aiming this, educational process of university constitutes the competencies which can be expected at the local field and develop the competency-oriented extracurricular & its operating system. Defining the creative convergent talent, as 'collaborative creative convergent one, bricoleur' and categorizes core competency named as TX competency. T competency contains humanities and the professionals of each major field needed. X competency consists of creative problem solving, convergent thinking ability, self-oriented learning ability and cooperative leadership. Developing extracurriculum & its operating system learners can be exposured the systemic learning and managing process. They can develop their potential abilities and can accumulate a proper mileage at their learning achievement. This research can be expected as a model of competency-based extracurriculum and its operating system which can develop learners' multiple competency overcoming the limit scope of curriculum.

  • In this paper, the real-time facility of the operating system for a VOD(Video On Demand) server have been analyzed and implemented. The requirements of the real-time scheduling have been gathered by analyzing the model of the video-data-transfer-path. Particularly, the influence of the bottleneck subsystem have been analyzed. Thus, we have implemented the real-time scheduler and primitives which is proper for processing the digital video. In performance measurements, the degree of the guarantee of the real-time scheduler have been experimented. The measured data show that the most time constraints of the process is satisfied. But, the network protocol processing by the interrupt is a major obstacle of the real-time scheduling. We also have compared the difference between the real-time scheduler and the non-real-time scheduler by measuring the inter-execution time. According to the measured results, the real-time scheduler should be used for efficient video service because the processor time allocated to the process can't be estimated when the non-real-time scheduler is used.

  • The XP, the representative methodology of Agile software development, maximizes the effectiveness of the development by focusing on development itself and using primitive and basic process definition that can be easily implemented in the fields. However, the most of XP's practices came from those of engineering and the manogement practices of work product tend to be overlooked. The research on the implementation of those manogement practices has not been performed enough. Because of deficiency of processes that guide the change control over major baselines of work product and that describe proper continuous integration and refactoring in XP, the integrity of those work products is difficult to be guaranteed. To fulfill this work product integrity, CM(configuration manogement) should be hired and CMMI(Capability Maturity Model Integration) is considered to be the best references for that purpose, CMMI defines the required practices of CM and leave implementation details to the organization so that it could customize those practices based on the characteristics of its development methods. The CM process implementation guidelines based on CMMI could provides work product integrity with a way of keeping XP's agility that includes continuous integration, refactoring and small release. In this research, we selected CM process factors applicable to XP among CMMI's CM practices and based on them we developed the CM implementation guidelines.

Development of the Approximate Cost Estimating Model for PSC Box Girder Bridge based on the Breakdown of Standard Work (대표공종 기반의 PSC Box 교량 상부공사 개략공사비 산정모델에 관한 연구)

  • Needs for developing a better way of cost estimating process for public construction projects have been widely recognized. Those needs are mainly from the early phases of the project through the construction life cycle due to the its importance to the control process. In contrast to the traditional estimating method based on unit-price references, this research utilized this following process. The first step is analyzing the real cost data from actual cost activities (2000~2010) about the statement of P.S.C(Prestressed Concrete) Box Girder Bridge. The collected data was broken into four categories based on technical construction methods such as I.L.M(Incremental Launching Method), M.S.S(Movable Scaffolding System), F.S.M(Full Staging Method), and F.C.M(Free Cantilever Method). The second, actual design documents including the actual cost estimating documents, drawings and specifications were carefully reviewed to cluster the cost itemized statement from four categories. It was also attempted to seek the proper breakdown of standard works that are responsible for more than 95 percentage in each categories in terms of its cost. The third, this research comes up the index for standard unit materials and unit price of standard work and develops the approximate estimating model applying for the specification(length and breadth of bridges) per square area that the user takes as well as suggests the practical application plan within the original time alloted.

  • When most drivers take to the freeway, they don't necessarily pay attention to the geometric design. They expect proper design by depending on their own senses and recognition. When they evaluate the features of traveling on the freeway, they can think differently than engineers. The design needs to predict the exact speed of the driver to satisfy the driver's expectation, safety, pleasure and so on. This study categorized the factors influencing the speed of six freeways considering geometric and operational features to make a prediction model of speed. The model used multiple regression with these factors and produced statically appropriate results. This study utilized the principle component analysis and the quantification II analysis based on the image data of the satisfaction of the traveling environment collected through individual interviews. As a result, this study found the factors of satisfaction in a traveling environment. It made a satisfaction model of the traveling environment on freeways considering the change of driver's actual recognition and societal recognition using structural equations and the quantification II theory. Through the model made in this study, This model can present not only qualitative factors like satisfaction of traveling environment on freeways, but also the quantitative elements like speed. What is important is the evaluation of features of traveling on freeways reflected in the recognition and traffic environment felt by drivers.

  • In this paper, we deal with a real time implementation of the integrated image-based navigation parameter extraction system using the TMS320C80 MVP(multimedia video processor). Our system consists of relative position estimation and absolute position compensation, which is further divided into high-resolution aerial image matching, DEM(Digital elevation model) matching, and IRS (Indian remote sensing) satellite image matching. Those algorithms are implemented in real time using the MVP. To achieve a real-time operation, an attempt is made to partition the aerial image and process the partitioned images in parallel using the four parallel processors in the MVP. We also examine the performance of the implemented integrated system in terms of the estimation accuracy, confirming a proper operation of the our system.

The Eye and the Gaze in John Hejduk's Architecture (존 헤이덕 건축에서의 시선과 응시)

  • This paper is an attempt to find/make an entrance to John Hejduk's architecture. Based explicitly on both Karl Popper's model of knowledge production called 'conjecture and refutation' and Harold Bloom's theory of poetry called 'revisionism', this paper, in order to produce a new problem, mainly deals with an existing knowledge as an object to refute, that is, Michael Hays' interpretation of Wall House by Jacques Lacan's notion of the gaze, Hejduk's a pivotal architectural finding. The arguments underlying this paper are two: First, Hejduk, just like this paper, follows Popper's model and Bloom's theory in conducting his own architectural research. Secondly, he takes what might be called artist's attitude when absorbing previous knowledge and producing new one. These two arguments are made in the first part and then served as a basic propositions for further arguments. In the process of criticizing the way in which Hays explicates Hejduk's Wall House, this paper reaches two main arguments. First, Lacan's notion of the gaze is not proper specifically for the explication of it. However, it may be useful and even promising when dealing with other works such as Subject/Object and House of the Inhabitant Who Refused to Participate. Secondly, Freud's notion of 'uncanny', arguably Hejduk's strong architectural orientation, may serve much better as a main gate among possibly many ones in trying to open his architecture. It is considered that this might also serve as an important clue to solving mysticism remaining yet untouched in his architecture.

A Study on Improvement of Demand Estimation in Urban Railway through Segmentations of Station Influence Areas (역세권 세분화를 통한 도시철도 수요예측 개선에 관한 연구)

  • Accurate demand estimating process in the construction of urban railway is very important, and precise validation is required. Existing model formula in the 4 phase model is limited in the estimation of the demand the administrative boundary-based zone system reflects no spatial railway demand characteristics around railway stations. The purpose of this study is improving the accuracy of urban rail demand estimation through segmentations of station influence areas and modal split characteristics within the areas. According to the case analysis, it is possible to set up the ststion influence area with a radius of 500m in the urban region and 1,000m in the suburban. And eastablishing proper segmentations of the ststion influence area shows more accurate results to the real demand of railway stations.

  • Companies are facing challenges to have high competitiveness because of continuous oil price rising and CO2 emissions regulations. Thus, companies are trying hard to construct effective logistics and operation system to achieve high customer service quality and saving cost. Also the ec-friendly idustrial complex is needed. Busan is in process to construct GILC(Global Industry Logistics City) in west Busan province to achieve high competitiveness and support lack of industrial complex. To construct this kind of logistics industrial complex, it needs logistics system through proper policy and freight transportation co-operation. Especially, efficient management through logistics hierarchy construction in industrial complex is very important for low cost and eco-friendly point of view. Therefore, this paper aims to analyze logistics system and suggest operation model to present logistics complex construction base data.
