We identified the intake pattern and consumption propensity of milk and sought improvements to promote consumption of milk. We targeted 362 preschool children aged 5~7 years old who attended nursery school in the Bucheon area. Questionnaires were distributed and 328 questionnaires were collected. Approximately 36.2% of boys and 31.2% of gorls drank milk six times per week. A total of 32.9% of the preschool children drank more than 2 cups of milk/day. Approximately 72.9% of them currently drink white milk, and 46.0% preferred milk to processed milk. The reasons why they drink milk included 'want to be tall'(66.5%) and 'good health'(52.4%). Mothers(54.6%)and preschool children(39.3%) were the purchasers with the greatest impact on product purchases. Consumer propensity to buy milk was shown in the order of expiration date(4.80 points), and nutrition facts(4.01 points). (4.88 points) and enhanced nutrients(4.59 points) should be promoted for milk consumption. Therefore, it is thought that continuous nutrition education should be made together in order to increase consumption of milk of children and education targeting teachers and school parents should be conducted as well. And in order for children to drink milk without repulsion, the development of various products satisfying both symbolic aspects and nutritional aspects should continue to be made.
This research was conducted over one month from May 1st to May 30th, 2015. Data were collected after confirming purpose of current study with eating house manager from the restaurant consumers. This study investigated the impact of nostalgia tendency on the propensity to revisit the eating house. This study analyzed the effect of individualism-collectivism propensity and social capital on participation activity as well as the effect of participation activity on fashion brands relationship orientation of social network service users. Also, this study investigated the difference in participation activity and fashion brands relationship orientation by participation level of social network service. A survey was conducted from October 1 to November 31, 2015, and 476 responses were used in the analysis. As results, the individualism-collectivism propensity was composed of vertical-horizontal individualism and vertical-horizontal collectivism. The social capital was composed of trust, norm, and network. Also, the participation activity was composed of personal interaction, consumer rights, information pursuit, interest pursuit, and economic pursuit. Vertical individualism positively affected information pursuit and economic pursuit, and horizontal individualism positively affected personal interaction, consumer rights, and information pursuit; in addition, vertical collectivism positively affected personal interaction, consumer rights, and interest pursuit. Horizontal collectivism positively affected information pursuit, but it negatively affected consumer rights. Consumer rights, information pursuit, interest pursuit, and economic pursuit of participation activity positively affected fashion brands relationship orientation. Also, there were significant differences in the participation activity and fashion brands relationship orientation by participation level. The study results provide useful information to the marketing strategies using social network service of fashion brands.
Background: Previous studies showed differences in healthcare utilization among insurance types. This study aimed to analyze the difference in healthcare utilization for percutaneous transluminal coronary angioplasty inpatients by insurance types after controlling factors affecting healthcare utilization using propensity score matching (PSM). Methods: The 2011 national inpatient sample based on health insurance claims data was used for analysis. PSM was used to control factors influencing healthcare utilization except insurance types. Length of stay and total charges were used as healthcare utilization variables. Patients were divided into National Health Insurance (NHI) and Medical Aid (MA) patients. Factors representing inpatients (gender, age, admission sources, and Elixhauser comorbidity index) and hospitals (number of doctors, number of beds, and location of hospitals) were used as covariates in PSM. Results: Tertiary hospitals didn't show significant difference in length of stay and total charges after PSM between two insurance types. However, MA patients showed significantly longer length of stay than that of NHI patients after PSM in general hospitals. Multivariate regression analysis provided that admission sources, Elixhauser comorbidity index, insurance types, number of doctors, and location of hospitals (province) had significant influences on the length of stay in general hospitals. Conclusion: Study results provided evidences that healthcare utilization was differed by insurance types in general hospitals. Health policy makers will need to prepare interventions to influence the healthcare utilization differences between insurance types.
The achievements of genome-wide association studies have suggested ways to predict diseases, such as type 2 diabetes (T2D), using single-nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs). Most T2D risk prediction models have used SNPs in combination with demographic variables. However, it is difficult to evaluate the pure additive contribution of genetic variants to classically used demographic models. Since prediction models include some heritable traits, such as body mass index, the contribution of SNPs using unmatched case-control samples may be underestimated. In this article, we propose a method that uses propensity score matching to avoid underestimation by matching case and control samples, thereby determining the pure additive contribution of SNPs. To illustrate the proposed propensity score matching method, we used SNP data from the Korea Association Resources project and reported SNPs from the genome-wide association study catalog. We selected various SNP sets via stepwise logistic regression (SLR), least absolute shrinkage and selection operator (LASSO), and the elastic-net (EN) algorithm. Using these SNP sets, we made predictions using SLR, LASSO, and EN as logistic regression modeling techniques. The accuracy of the predictions was compared in terms of area under the receiver operating characteristic curve (AUC). The contribution of SNPs to T2D was evaluated by the difference in the AUC between models using only demographic variables and models that included the SNPs. The largest difference among our models showed that the AUC of the model using genetic variants with demographic variables could be 0.107 higher than that of the corresponding model using only demographic variables.
The purpose of this study is to investigate consumer perception and importance of food tourism properties and performance of the properties in Sangju province of Gyeongsangbuk-do. The study has found that persons who have food tourism experiences (75 persons, 50.7%) had slightly more than not experience persons (72 persons, 48.6%). Additionally, most of the respondents were usually satisfied with the local foods. Also, it was found that food tourism had been taken 1-2 times per 6 months (48 persons, 64.0%) on average, and 135 persons (91.2%) had intention of experiencing food tourism. According to the result of Importance-Performance Analysis (IPA) on consumers' food tourism properties, high importance was on 'There are attractive landscapes.' ($4.52\;{\pm}\;0.56$), 'Accommodations with reasonable price.' ($4.18\;{\pm}\;0.80$), and 'The food of the area is famous.' ($4.15\;{\pm}\;0.73$); and the properties such as 'There are local specialty shops or markets selling local produce.' ($3.03\;{\pm}\;0.83$), 'The climate is temperate.' ($3.03\;{\pm}\;0.87$), and 'There are attractive landscapes.' ($3.02\;{\pm}\;0.98$) showed average performance. A factor analysis about consumers' importances to the food tourism properties shows that the factors were divided into four kinds and each of the factors were named as 'convenience-stable propensity', 'valued-oriented propensity', 'adventurous-aggressive propensity' and 'traditional-active propensity'. Variance ratios of each factor were 22.319%, 10.286%, 8.723% and 6.239%, respectively. According to the result of a reliability analysis, Cronbach's alpha value was 0.8621, implying that reliability of each item was very high. Therefore, it is considered that development of food tourism products and promotion strategies therefore should be designed based on the importance of food tourism properties hereafter.

This study evaluated the performance of bedding fabrics consisting of warp (150d/144f, polyester) and weft (polyester, Tencel and cotton MVS blended spun yarn) with blend ratio of weft. We measured electrostatic propensity, moisture properties, pilling properties and mechanical properties of the fabrics for this study. F-P fabric showed outstanding moisture properties and pilling properties. However, tensile properties and electrostatic propensity were relatively inferior to other characteristic values. Significant static electricity may make F-P fabric uncomfortable. F-P7C3 fabric showed outstanding moisture properties and pilling properties. Static electricity may make F-P7C3 fabric uncomfortable; in addition, F-P5C5 fabric showed outstanding moisture properties and pilling properties. Rough and stiff hand feel were expected to increase because tensile properties decreased and surface properties increased. F-C fabric showed outstanding pilling properties and electrostatic propensity. However, it showed inferior moisture control properties. F-P5T4C1 fabric showed outstanding moisture properties, pilling properties and electrostatic propensity. Several properties are outstanding; however, the hand feels are very rough and stiff from bending. The water evaporation and static electricity increased with increasing polyester content. As the content of cotton increased, tensile properties were improved. However, water evaporation and static electricity decreased. The addition of Tencel increased the thickness and compression energy so that it exhibited a soft characteristic upon compression and an excellent moisture control properties, but the surface became somewhat coarse.
The purpose of this study is to identify the structural relationship between family leisure activities, family leisure satisfaction and leisure benefit of women's college students according to leisure consumption propensity. Data was analyzed with reliability analysis, cross tabulation analysis, confirmatory factor analysis, structural equation modeling analysis with SPSS 18.0 and AMOS 18.0. The results were summarized as follows: family leisure activities had significant effect on family leisure satisfaction and significant moderation effect according to leisure consumption propensity. Family leisure satisfaction had a positive effect on the leisure benefit, while family leisure activities didn't have influence on the leisure benefit.
Unlike randomized trial, statistical strategies for inferring the unbiased causal relationship are required in the observational studies. Recently, new methods for the causal inference in the observational studies have been proposed such as the matching with the propensity score or the inverse probability treatment weighting. They have focused on how to control the confounders and how to evaluate the effect of the treatment on the result variable. However, these conventional methods are valid only when the treatment variable is categorical and both of the treatment and the result variables are directly observable. Research on the causal inference can be challenging in part because it may not be possible to directly observe the treatment and/or the result variable. To address this difficulty, we propose a method for estimating the average causal effect when both of the treatment and the result variables are latent. The latent class analysis has been applied to calculate the propensity score for the latent treatment variable in order to estimate the causal effect on the latent result variable. In this work, we investigate the causal effect of adolescents delinquency on their substance use using data from the 'National Longitudinal Study of Adolescent Health'.

Propensity score adjustment(PSA) has been suggested as approach to adjustment for volunteer internet survey. PSA attempts to decrease the biases arising from noncoverage and nonprobability sampling in volunteer panel internet surveys. Although PSA is an appealing method, its application for internet survey regarding Korea presidential election and its effectiveness is not well investigated. In this study, we compare the Ni Korea internet survey with the telephone survey conducted by MBMR and KBS for 2007 Korean presidential election. The result of study show that the accuracy of internet survey can be improved by using PSA. And it is critical to include covariates that highly related to the voting tendency and the role of nondemographic variables seems important to improving PSA for Korea presidential election prediction.
