Psychotherapeutic Approach to the Effects of Insecure Attachment and Projective Identification on Infidelity (불안형 애착과 투사적 동일시가 외도에 미치는 영향에 대한 심리치료적 접근)

  • The purpose of this study is to deeply analyze the psychological influence of anxious attachment and projective identification on extramarital behavior. By systematically collecting and analyzing literature reviews, we explored how anxious attachment and projective identification are connected to extramarital behavior, strengthened the theoretical background, and suggested the possibility of application in counseling and treatment processes. We analyzed the possibility and pattern of extramarital behavior according to anxious attachment types (anxious, avoidant, and mixed types), and investigated whether projective identification plays an important role in justifying extramarital behavior and worsening relationships. The anxious attachment type tends to find stability in oneself through extramarital behavior due to the fear of being abandoned by the partner, while the avoidant attachment type tends to avoid emotional intimacy and maintain independence, and tends to distance oneself from the relationship through extramarital behavior. Mixed attachment is a state of mixed anxiety and avoidance, and tends to relieve extreme emotional changes through extramarital behavior. In addition, projective identification functions as a psychological mechanism that projects one's negative emotions and anxiety onto the other person and shifts responsibility for extramarital behavior to the other person. Through this, infidelity became a means to protect or justify oneself, which resulted in worsening the relationship. This study shows that anxious attachment and projective identification are important psychological backgrounds of infidelity, and it provides important implications for the development of counseling and treatment programs. It can be used as basic data for promoting individual psychological health and forming healthy relationships.

Real-time geometry identification of moving ships by computer vision techniques in bridge area

  • As part of a structural health monitoring system, the relative geometric relationship between a ship and bridge has been recognized as important for bridge authorities and ship owners to avoid ship-bridge collision. This study proposes a novel computer vision method for the real-time geometric parameter identification of moving ships based on a single shot multibox detector (SSD) by using transfer learning techniques and monocular vision. The identification framework consists of ship detection (coarse scale) and geometric parameter calculation (fine scale) modules. For the ship detection, the SSD, which is a deep learning algorithm, was employed and fine-tuned by ship image samples downloaded from the Internet to obtain the rectangle regions of interest in the coarse scale. Subsequently, for the geometric parameter calculation, an accurate ship contour is created using morphological operations within the saturation channel in hue, saturation, and value color space. Furthermore, a local coordinate system was constructed using projective geometry transformation to calculate the geometric parameters of ships, such as width, length, height, localization, and velocity. The application of the proposed method to in situ video images, obtained from cameras set on the girder of the Wuhan Yangtze River Bridge above the shipping channel, confirmed the efficiency, accuracy, and effectiveness of the proposed method.

Indirect Anthropometry on Cast Model of Cleft Lip Nose: Comparison with Direct Anthropometry (구순열비 석고모형에서 간접인체계측법: 직접인체계측법과의 비교)

  • Purpose: Anthropometry can be divided into two methods, direct anthropometry and indirect anthropometry. The most ideal and accurate method is a direct anthropometry. However, it is difficult to measure in the case of children because of poor cooperation, and it lacks re-productivity. Cast model has advantages of three dimensional featuring, inexpensive and easy fabrication. This study is conducted to find out an accuracy of indirect anthropometry on cast model by comparing it with direct anthropometry. Methods: Total 48 cleft lip nasal deformity patients (unilateral, 40; bilateral, 8) were included in this study. Cast models were made before surgery under general anesthesia with alginate impression material and model plaster. Eleven linear measurements among 7 landmarks were taken as direct anthropometry before surgery with Castroviejo spreading caliper. At the same time, indirect anthropometry on cast model was done at the same linear distances as well. Results: Of the total 11 linear measurements, both ala lengths, both columella lengths, nose width, projective distance between facial insertion points of the ala, projective distance between the alar base points, right nostril floor width, and columella width were statistically correlated between indirect anthropometry on cast model and direct anthropometry. However, the nasal tip protrusion and the left nostril floor width were not statistically correlated. Conclusion: Accuracy of indirect anthropometry on cast model can be influenced by cast model fabrication techniques and correct identification of landmarks. Nasal tip protrusion could be reduced by compression of the nasal tip in the process of cast model fabrication and nostril floor width can be varied by muscle relaxation of anesthetics and incorrect identification of subalare in cleft lip nasal deformity. If sufficient care is taken to make cast model and to define landmarks exactly, indirect anthropometry on cast model can be a reliable method as direct anthropometry.

  • In recent years, there has been increased interest in characterizing and extracting 3D information from 2D images for human tracking and identification. In this paper, we propose a single view-based framework for robust estimation of height and position. In the proposed method, 2D features of target object is back-projected into the 3D scene space where its coordinate system is given by a rectangular marker. Then the position and the height are estimated in the 3D space. In addition, geometric error caused by inaccurate projective mapping is corrected by using geometric constraints provided by the marker. The accuracy and the robustness of our technique are verified on the experimental results of several real video sequences from outdoor environments.

  • Author reviewed psychodynamics and psychoanalytic treatment of obesity. A variety of psychodynamics and unconscious conflicts have been described in obese patients : eating as a defense against depression, eating as a substitute for maternal love, obese body as a larger penis, and eating as a self-soothing. There was a gross neglect of certain normal parenting roles in obese family. The parenatal superego structure was not as perfectionistic. As with children and other patients with preoedipal pathology, in obese patients the analyst in addition to being transference object is a new and different object who promote healthy maturation. Because of obese parients, in there projective identification, can provoke intense countertransference, the analyst have to consider it. On the other hand, many analysts' countertransferences to superobese patients is that huge person recalls one's own childhood relationship with adults and bring forth a feeling of helplessness.
