Stabilization splint therapy Precedes orthodontic intervention to enable the operator to find a 'true' centric(which is stable and comfortable), to test the patient's response to a change in the occlusion, prior to embarking upon a complex course of occlusal therapy : and finally, to see if the centric relation position can be stabilized. For this study, 47 malocclusion Patients enrolled for orthodontic treatment at the Department of Orthodontics, College of Dentistry, Chosun University comprised the malocclusion group, little variation of growth factor by the second molar eruption. They had Cr-Co discrepancy beyond normal range. For each patients the stabilization splint with mutually protected type of occlusal scheme was applied for 3 months. Condylar positions in CR and CO were measured using Penadent articulators, Panadent condylar position indicator(CPI), and transcranial projection before & after stabilization splint therapy. On the basis of this study, the results of this study were as follows 1. In all samples using CPI, there were statistical significances in CR-CO discrepancy(p<0.001) both before 8t after stabilization splint therapy. 2. In Rt and Lt+Rt/2 of superior joint space using transcranial projection, there were statistical significances in CR-CO discrepancy({<0.05) before & after stabilization splint therapy. 3. In supero-inferior components using CPI, there were statistical significances in CR-CO discrepancy(p<0.01) before & after stabilization splint therapy. 4. In all components except Rt using transcranial projection, there were no statistical significances in CR-CO discrepancy(p>0.05) before & after stabilization splint therapy. To sum up, CPI might be more effective than transcranial projection to reveal the changes between CR-CO discrepancies and stabilization splint might be more useful appliance for displaying the vertical changes, than the antero-posterior changes, of condylar position.
Given operators X and Y acting on a Hilbert space $\mathcal{H}$, an interpolating operator is a bounded operator A such that AX = Y. In this paper, we showed the following : Let $\mathcal{L}$ be a subspace lattice acting on a Hilbert space $\mathcal{H}$ and let $X_i$ and $Y_i$ be operators in B($\mathcal{H}$) for i = 1, 2, ${\cdots}$. Let $P_i$ be the projection onto $\overline{rangeX_i}$ for all i = 1, 2, ${\cdots}$. If $P_kE$ = $EP_k$ for some k in $\mathbb{N}$ and all E in $\mathcal{L}$, then the following are equivalent: (1) $sup\;\{{\frac{{\parallel}E^{\perp}({\sum}^n_{i=1}Y_if_i){\parallel}}{{\parallel}E^{\perp}({\sum}^n_{i=1}Y_if_i){\parallel}}:f{\in}H,n{\in}{\mathbb{N}},E{\in}\mathcal{L}}\}$ < ${\infty}$ range $\overline{rangeY_k}\;=\;\overline{rangeX_k}\;=\;\mathcal{H}$, and < $X_kf,\;X_kg$ >=< $Y_kf,\;Y_kg$ > for some k in $\mathbb{N}$ and for all f and g in $\mathcal{H}$. (2) There exists an operator A in Alg$\mathcal{L}$ such that $AX_i$ = $Y_i$ for i = 1, 2, ${\cdots}$ and AA$^*$ = I = A$^*$A.
A simplified pole-placement design method is developed by analysing dynamic characteristics of the switching dynamics. Unlike the design procedure of conventional pole-placement, in the proposed method, overall state-space is directly decomposed into two invariant subspaces by the projection operator which is defined in the equivalent system, and then the closed-loop poles are assigned to each subspace independently. Hence, computations for state-feedback gain matrix are easy and simple.
For on-line ARMA spectral estimation, the fast transversal filter algorithm of extended least squares method(ETS FTF) is presented. The projection operator, a key tool for geometric approach, is used in the derivation of the algorithm. ELS FTF is a fast time update recursion which is based on the fact that the correlation matrix of ARMA model satisfies the shift invariance property in each block, and thus it takes 10N+31 MADPR.
Let M be a real hypersurface in a complex space form Mn(c), c ≠ 0. In this paper, we prove that if (∇Xϕ)Y + (∇Yϕ)X = 0 holds on M, then M is a Hopf hypersurface, where ϕ is the tangential projection of the complex structure of Mn(c). We characterize such Hopf hypersurfaces of Mn(c).
The computer program (EPR-NMR program version 6.2) employed here sets up the spin Hamiltonian matrices and determines their eigenvalues using exact diagonalization. We study the electron spin resonance for $Mn^{2+}$ in ferroelectric $LiNbO_3$ single crystals. The self-energy is obtained using the projection operator method developed by Argyres and Sigel. The self-energy is calculated to be axially symmetric about the by the spin Hamiltonian. The line-widths decreased as the temperature increased; we assume that the hyperfine structure transition is a more dominant scattering than the other transitions. We conclude that the calculation process presented in this study is useful for quantum optical transitions.
In order to obtain desired arc welding performance, we already developed an arc welding robot system that enabled coordinated motions of dual arm robots. In this system one robot arm holds a welding target as a positioning device, and the other robot moves the welding torch. Concerning to such a dual arm robot system, the positioning accuracy of robots is one important problem, since nowadays conventional industrial robots unfortunately don't have enough absolute accuracy in position. In order to cope with this problem, our robot system employed teaching playback method, where absolute error are compensated by the operator's visual feedback. Due to this system, an ideal arc welding considering the posture of the welding target and the directions of the gravity has become possible. Another problem still remains, while we developed an original teaching method of the dual arm robots with coordinated motions. The problem is that manual teaching tasks are still tedious since they need fine movements with intensive attentions. Therefore, we developed a 3-dimensional vision guided robot control method for our welding robot system with coordinated motions. In this paper we show our 3-dimensional vision sensor to guide our arc welding robot system with coordinated motions. A sensing device is compactly designed and is mounted on the tip of the arc welding robot. The sensor detects the 3-dimensional shape of groove on the target work which needs to be weld. And the welding robot is controlled to trace the grooves with accuracy. The principle of the 3-dimensional measurement is depend on the slit-ray projection method. In order to realize a slit-ray projection method, two laser slit-ray projectors and one CCD TV camera are compactly mounted. Tactful image processing enabled 3-dimensional data processing without suffering from disturbance lights. The 3-dimensional information of the target groove is combined with the rough teaching data they are given by the operator in advance. Therefore, the teaching tasks are simplified
This paper addresses an efficient loop filter algorithm to improve visual quality by simultaneously reducing blocking and ringing artifacts in H.26L video coder. H.26L video coding standard using the different coding mechanism to existing video coding standards has different distribution of blocking and ringing artifacts that is dependent on coding type, quantization step size, and motion vector. Therefore, the information is used to define the filter type and the filter coefficients. and a projection operator is defined to avoid the over-smoothness. In addition, in order to avoid over-smoothing coming from filtering processing, a constraint projection operator is defined. Since the above information is available both in encoder and in the decoder, a loop filter is used, and the algorithm is simplified to reduce the computational cost. Experimental results show the capability of the proposed algorithm.
In this paper. Ive propose a postprocessing technique based on the theory of projection on convex sets(POCS) to reduce the blocking artifacts in HDTV decoded images. In BDCT of HDTV. the image is divided into a grid of non-overlapped 8 ${\times}$ 8 blocks. and then each block is coded separately. A block which is located one pixel apart from the grid of BDCT will include the boundary of the original 8 ${\times}$ 8 block. If the blocking artifact is Introduced alone the block boundary. this block will have different frequency characteristic from that of the original block. Thus, a comparison of frequency characteristics of these two overlapping blocks can detect the undesired high-frequency components mainly caused by the blocking artifact. By eliminating these undesired high-frequency components adaptively, robust smoothing projection operator can be obtained. Simulation results with real image sequences indicate that the proposed method performs better than conventional algorithms.

In this paper, we propose a new post-processing method, based on the theory of the projection onto convex sets (POCS) to reduce the blocking artifacts in decoded images. We propose a few smoothness constraint set (SCS) and its projection operator in the wavelet transform (WT) domain to remove unnecessary high-frequency components caused by blocking artifacts. We also propose a new method to find and preserve the original high frequency components of the image edge. Experimental results show that the proposed method can not only achieve a significantly enhanced subjective quality, but also have the PSNR improvement in the output image.
