Generating a project network of a specific construction project is very time consuming and difficult task in the field. To effectiviely automate and support the planning process, we design a case-based project planning expert system inspired by the fact a human expert project planner uses previous cases for planning a new project. A construction project case consist of its specific characteristics and the corresponding project network (i.e. project plan). Using frame based representation. we represent the project features affecting the progress network and the entities composing the project plan such as the buildings, construction methods, WBS (work breakdown structure), activities, and resources. The project planning process runs through most similar case retrieval, case adaptation, and user requirement satisfaction. We represent the construction domain knowledge for each procedure using constraints and rules. We develop the methodology for constraint-based case adaption. Case adaptation process mainly consist of activity generation/deletion and predecence constraint satisfaction, for which we develop the dynamic constraint generation method and connect user-level requirement representation the system-level network modification knowledge. The methodology is being applied to the prototype for apartment construction project planning.

A project manager is required to have systematic knowledge in the project management in fashion and apparel industry. The Network Technique is a modern project management technique and applies to almost all industry sectors, including fashion and apparel industry. Through the Network Technique, we can save project time and cost. The purpose of present study are - to introduce the Network Technique into fashion and apparel industry management area, and - to make an practical application of he Network Technique to fashion and apparel industry. For these purpose, fist we define the Network Technique, and then we apply it to fashion show as an example. Only time component is considered in this study. Cost component can be dealt with later on in the project planning area.

Although project management for new product development is a very important issue, only a few approach from project scheduling has been made. The traditional project scheduling research has focused on the project network with certainty, but the new product development project has some uncertainties in network; Some activities may not need to be peformed, and/or some precedent relationships between activities may not need to be kept. In this paper, a simulation model is introduced in order to reflect uncertainties in project network for new product development. This simulation model can be used as a project scheduling technique for product development. By repeating the simulation, the degree of the risk and the feasibility of the project can be assessed.

Software project planning is usually represented by a project activity network that is composed of stages of tasks to be done and precedence restrictions among them. The project network is very complex and its construction requires a vast amount of field knowledge and experience. So this study proposes a case-based reasoning approach that can generate the project network automatically based on the past cases and modification knowledge. For the case indexing, we have adopted 17 factors, each with a few alternative values. A special structure of this problem is that the modification effort can be identified by each factor independently. Thus it is manageable to identify 85 primitive modification actions(add and delete activities) and estimate its modification efforts in advance. A specific case requires a combination of primitive modifications. Based on the modification effort knowledge, we have adopted the Least Modification approach as a metric of similarity between a new project and past cases. Using the Least Modification approach and modification knowledge base, we can automatically generate the project network. To validate the performance of Least Modification approach, we have compared its performance with an ordinary minimal distance approach for 21 test cases. The experiment showed that the Least Modification approach could reduce the modification effort significantly.

PERT/CPM type scheduling systems use a network to graphically portray the interrelationship among the activities of a project. This network representation of the project schedule shows all the precedence relationship regarding the order in which tasks must be performed. In this paper an algorithm is presented that changes the network configurations without violating precedence relationship of the original network.

In the IT(Information Technology) service, which supply the solutions related to business management and IT, network construction and application trends, the related service business are increasing according to the enlargement of project scope and the diversity of project types as the need of service customers. In this paper, I propose the significant effect factors on the network management of IT service firms. The key findings are from the analysis result about 94 IT service firms as follows. For implementation the high performance of network management in the IT service firms, the strategic elements in the process of network construction are more conceived highly than the basic element in them. Also the perspective of project objectives are considered than the nominal perspectives in the partner selection process. The competency of partner firms', the cooperation process between the partner firms', network relation operation management and network relation structure management are the significant effect factors of network management.

In this study, the network analysis of researchers, institutions, and research principal agent was conducted to understand structure characteristics of international cooperation research project implemented from 1997 to 2018. The network of researchers and institutions were decentralized structure. On the other hands, the network of research principal agent was centralized structure. The Soul National University is the leading organization of international cooperation research project. In terms of research principal agent, corporation is the leading principal agent. In additions, the results of the network centroid analysis of the researchers and institutions were correlated with the research funds. As a result, it was confirmed that the network centroid of research organization was linearly related to research funds.

Most companies have been increasing temporary work projects to maximize the usage of their resources. They also have been developing the effective techniques for analyzing and managing the state of the projects. In order to monitor the state of a project in real-time and predict the project's future state more accurately, this paper suggests the Bayesian Network (BN) as a tool for discovering the causes of project risk and presenting the failure probability of the project. The proposed BN modeling method with consideration of the Earned Value Management (EVM) method shows how to induce the predictive and conditional probability of the risk occurrence in the future. The advantages of the suggested model are (1) that the cause of a project risk can be easily figured out via the BN, (2) that the future value of the project can be sufficiently increased by updating relevant components of the project, and (3) that more credible prediction can be made in the similar and future situation by using the data obtained in current analysis. A numerical example is also given.

The purpose of this study is to analyze the issues related to urban regeneration project at the present time through surveys and interviews of participants in the urban regeneration leading project of Suncheon city. Most of the comments were related to business fragmentation and things that should be improved in the future. The text network technique is applied to the subject analysis using unstructured text data. As a result of the frequency of appearance and analysis of page rank centrality between words, words of 'parking', 'need', 'lack', 'region' and 'resident' appeared at the top, and the result of analyzing the mediation centrality of key words showed 'culture', 'Need', 'region', 'inflow' and 'lack' appeared at the top. In the network analysis, the most central words appeared, and many words appeared in the important position in the sentence. Text network analysis has provided timely results in terms of sustainability after completion of the Suncheon City Regeneration Leading Project..

In this talk, we will give an overview of the small telescope network project in Korea. The small telescope network is a project in planning that would gather 0.4m-1.0m telescopes in Korea together for a common use in research and education, and the project is being led by the Optical/IR Astronomy Division of KAS. Even in the era of giant telescopes, small telescopes are still competitive for various research topics that require rapid response or long-term, steady monitoring. There are quite a few small telescopes in Korea, but the research use of these telescope has been very limited. By organizing these telescopes together, the small telescope network hopes to bring these telescopes in full operation and offer Korean astronomers competitive observational resources. In this talk, we will outline the project, describe potential resources, and several science cases such as multi-messenger astronomy, supernovae, and AGN. We will also introduce how this project might be run, with the expected operation of the small network starting at 2020.
