  • Due to the decreasing of Korean Construction market situation, recently a lot of medium & small size contractors, engineering firms and consulting firms are extending their business area to overseas market. To compare with 80${\sim}$90's situation at that time only Contractor provide service to overseas but in recent, there are number of Design, CM/PM and other consulting services which provide service to overseas. With this figures, the number of nation also increased from middle east and South east asian area to central asia and african nations and among them Kazakhstan has became as new market for the construction industry based on it oil money and up stream of real estimate market. Based on this fact, we will explain one of our recent project case for PM service in Almaty, Kazakhstan to show others who have interest to do business in their.

  • Project management is a tool for smooth operation during a full cycle from the design to normal operation including the schedule, document, and budget management, and document management is an important work for big projects such as the JRTR (Jordan Research and Training Reactor). To manage the various large documents for a research reactor, a project management system was resolved, a project procedure manual was prepared, and a document control system was established. The ANSIM (Advanced Nuclear Safety Information Management) system consists of a document management folder, document container folder, project management folder, organization management folder, and EPC (Engineering, Procurement and Construction) document folder. First, the system composition is a computerized version of the Inter-office Correspondence (IOC), the Document Distribution for Agreement (DDA), Design Documents, and Project Manager Memorandum (PM Memo) works prepared for the research reactor design. Second, it reviews, distributes, and approves design documents in the system and approves those documents to register and supply them to the research reactor user. Third, it integrates the information of the document system-using organization and its members, as well as users' rights regarding the ANSIM document system. Throughout these functions, the ANSIM system has been contributing to the vitalization of united research. Not only did the ANSIM system realize a design document input, data load, and search system and manage KAERI's long-period experience and knowledge information properties using a management strategy, but in doing so, it also contributed to research activation and will actively help in the construction of other nuclear facilities and exports abroad.

  • Muan Enterprise City is a mega-project that has an investment worth up to $3 billion only in the construction of infrastructure. The project's success will largely depend on the success of its construction management. This study sets out to establish a construction management plan for Muan Enterprise City by defining the core objectives and organizational structure and its supporting system. Project outline and core objectives were analyzed, and necessity of construction management and processes evaluated. Based on this analysis, implementation strategy for the achievement of project goals was defined and developed, and organizational structure and its support system to execute established. This study strives to support the project's construction management being carried out under proper planning and possibly set an example for construct ion management of mega-structures in the future. • Recently, knowledge transfer has been recognized as one of the major factors for success of IT projects but little investigated in Information Systems research. IT project, which needs collaboration between organization's IT project team and external partner, is an critical source for a firm to acquire external knowledge and to achieve its competitive advantage. Based on this recognition on knowledge transfer under IT project, we investigate a mediation role of knowledge transfer to IT project performance after identifying its antecedents such as project team capabilities and partner capabilities. The research model is tested by analyzing 161 sample data gathered from firms' employees who have participated IT projects within last two years. The results reveal that knowledge transfer has full-mediation effect between its antecedents and IT project performance. Moreover, project team capabilities have more impacts on knowledge transfer than partner capabilities do.

  • Integrated Railroad Information System(IRIS) Construction Project is one of the super projects in Korea required to invest over 100 billion won and 10,000 engaged manpower until Dec 30, 2004. Composition of this paper is as follows; firstly, examined individual contents and aspects of IRIS, and studied formality and contents that have been based to project methodology for successful propulsion of project in overall situation of SI project progress until present. Secondly, presented for construction background of IRIS as well as Project Management and Project Development Methodologies. Thirdly, described each characteristic and development substance for individual systems after present whole contents and system image of the system. Finally, presented successful propulsion result of this project and development directions. We presented development example laying stress on IRIS's Project contents and propulsion circumstances. Evaluation about operation results should be analyzed and studied in detail operating system from now on.

  • This study is to find out how to improve the efficiency of game development by analyzing the effects of the characteristics of game development organization on game development performance. The characteristics of the game development organization were set as independent variables, consisting of game project management characteristics, PM characteristics, game development team characteristics, and organizational culture. Game performance is divided into game project performance and game development final performance. As a result, the characteristics of the four game development organizations were found to be a significant factors in the game project performance and game development final performance. This study suggests that the environment that can focus on game development and appropriate management education for managers are needed to enhance the competence of members in game development team.

  • To develop large-scale complex systems, many organizations have attempted to improve the processes specified in systems engineering (SE) and project management (PM) by adopting CMMI (Capability Maturity Model Integration). On the other hand, most domestic organizations that already acquired CMMI level 3 have focused on SE&PM practices while providing less investment in building up the environment for institutionalizing those processes. In such organizations, the process maturity without advancing to institutionalization can be neither enhanced nor maintained. To resolve the problem, the following remedies can be suggested. A standard process should first be defined to meet the business mission of the organization and to carry out the process successfully, the people should be properly trained and the appropriate tools be provided. In this study, a maturity model to accomplish institutionalization was examined based on the aforementioned P-P-T (Process-People-Tool) concept. The model proposed would be useful in developing strategies and plans for process institutionalization when the organizations are in the preparation stages for a CMMI certificate or have already acquired one.
