With the mounting concerns over environmental issues, green construction is gaining a place in the global construction industry. However, rare research has been conducted to analyze green construction projects, especially in the aspect of project schedule performance. As a result, this study aims to investigate the degree of project delay in green building construction, analyze the factors affecting schedule delay of green building projects, and finally provide recommendations to improve schedule performance of green building project. To achieve the objectives, a comprehensive literature review was carried out, followed by a survey conducted with 30 companies that provided data from 220 traditional and 96 green building projects. The analysis of the responses identified that 15.9% of the traditional building projects were delayed while 32.3% of the green building projects were completed behind schedule. Furthermore, the amount of the delays in green building projects was an average of 4.8% of their planned schedule. The top 5 critical factors that can cause delay in green building projects were identified as: (1) speed of decision-making by clients; (2) speed of decision-making involving all project teams; (3) communication/coordination between key parties; (4) level of experience of consultants; and (5) difficulties in contractors' project financing. Lastly, a list of recommendations was introduced, aiming to reduce schedule delay in green building construction projects based on the observations. This study will serve as s a base for further research on the enhancement of green building project schedule performance.

This paper proposes an R&D project selection methodology for green technology centered on developing country-oriented technology commercialization. Eight selection criteria are derived from the R&BD logic model : technology needs of developing countries, effectiveness of green technology, technological potentials, domestic technological capability, commercialization feasibility, economic benefits, business feasibility, and spillover effects of developing countries. 21 qualitative and quantitative indicators are then defined for each criterion. The analytic hierarchy process is conducted to produce relative importance of evaluation indicators and to set final priority scores of R&D project candidates. The working of the proposed methodology is provided with the help of a case study example of Green Technology Center. The proposed methodology is expected to be effectively utilized for policy practices of R&D project selection in the field of green technology.

The purpose of this study is to review all phases of the pilot project through the implementation of the Green Remodeling process. The Green Remodeling process was developed to facilitate anyone's ease of use. The Green Remodeling process consists of five phases : project, plan, design, construction, operation and maintenance. Each stage simulation was performed and the energy saving was predicted. Architects can easily obtain energy information of a building. In this study, we propose a green remodeling proposal plan through pilot project. Ultimately, the spread of green remodeling will greatly contribute to achieving the goal of reducing greenhouse gas emissions.

The purpose of this study was to develop an evaluation standard by which teachers in charge of environment and green growth education could conduct a project activity and examine its applicability. The results were as follows; First, 26 evaluation items were developed through interviews with teachers and expert meetings. These categories were base on 'Theme', 'Planning', 'Result' and 'Presentation', and 'Evaluation' of the project. Second, a reliability test showed that internal consistency of the items was currently high(Cronbach's alpha .8709). To examine the content validity, the project activity was evaluated by 5 different teachers, and the result showed that the evaluation standard developed in this study was a very effective tool for the teachers to do project learning. Third, from the 2011 revised national curriculum, the subject 'Environment' in middle schools would be renamed as 'Environment and Green Growth'. Also, environment project activity would be introduced in the middle school. Therefore, this study had a significant importance in the fact that it provided teachers and students with a practical evaluation standard for the environment and green growth project activity.

내 공공건축물은 총 17만 7천여 동으로 이중 15년 이상 경과하여 노후화가 진행 중인 건물이 전체 건물 수의 약 74% 달한다. 노후화된 건물로 인하여 에너지 손실이 심각한 실정이다. 노후화 건축물의 에너지 효율을 개선하여 에너지 소비량을 줄이기 위해서 정부 및 지자체에서 기존 건축물의 리모델링 수선 및 설비 교체를 통한 에너지 효율화 사업을 진행 중이다. 최근에 개정된 녹색건축물 조성지원법에서는 그린리모델링을 기존 공공건축물에 적용 활성화하고자 한다. 하지만 그린리모델링 사업에 대한 업무의 범위, 재원 마련 방안 및 발주 방식에 대한 기준이 뚜렷하지 않다. 따라서 본 연구를 통하여 그린리모델링을 활성화 할 수 있는 방안을 마련하고자 한다. 기존 건축생산 과정을 바탕으로 한 프로젝트 라이프사이클 과정에서 발생하는 업무를 기준으로 그린 리모델링 업무를 정의하였으며, 건축주 및 사업자가 재원을 마련 할 수 있는 방안 및 그린리모델링 업무 구분에 따른 발주 패키지를 도출하여 낙찰자 결정 방식 및 대가지급 방식 등을 제안하였다.

The purpose of this study was to provide information on how to expend participation in and raise awareness of the Green Parking Project. A survey was conducted for this study among two groups. One group consisted of 38 residents of the Green Parking Zone in Nam-gu, Ulsan, and the other group consised 129 residents with no experience with the Green Parking Project. For analysis, the frequency and means were calculated, and t-test, analysis of variance, and chi-square test were performed. The results showed, first, that general residents tended to think that parking on the street in front of one's house is a divine right, while residents living the Green Parking Zone thought that the street is a public space. Second, general residents regarded fences as means of security to protect their private property, while people living in the Green Parking Zone tended to think of their yards as semi-private spaces and allowed access to neighbors. Third, general residents had concerns about maintenance and administration fees, noise and dust, security of houses, and privacy. However, residents of the Green Parking Zone evaluated those conditions positively. Fourth, people who were well-informed about the Green Parking Project had low anxiety about security and invasion of privacy, results from the project. Therefore, effective public relations are very important for expanding participation and raising awareness.

In recent years, the demand for green buildings is growing fast due to legislative and social pressures. Construction organizations, which play an important role in promoting building industry growth, are facing with challenges on how to adapt themselves to enhance sustainability of the buildings. In this paper, the green value chain and system frameworks, an extend application of Porter's value chain and system models, are introduced. Based on deep analysis of the green value chain and system frameworks, a revolution model for construction organizations towards green building is created. Management factors critical for a successful green building project, at the firm and project organization level, are extracted. Furthermore, external critical relationships are also identified. Fully understanding of these management factors and the model can help and enable practitioner to know what new capabilities should be deployed and developed in the long run for maximizing sustainability.

As demands and interests in visiting rural village increases, government authorities are promoting eco and green tour village development project through plural functions of rural village. The purpose of this study is to understand infrastructure improvement direction by researching the case study of general rural villages' changing to eco and green tourism villages. As for the research method, the character of each village was verified, then the case studies of improvement by life infrastructure using the identity of villages were analyzed. Finally, it was found that infrastructure through public facilities improvement and environment improvement project was expanded and relaxative and experiential space was offered by creating tour infrastructure using the identity of villages. Also, it was shown that farming infrastructure creating project was executed to promote the income base of locals.

본 연구는 2010년 청주시에서 시작된 초록마을사업의 지난 10년간 성과를 검토하고, 로컬거버넌스의 형성과 제도화 가능성을 확인하는 데 목적이 있다. 환경운동단체 주도로 처음 시작된 거버넌스형 사업이 10년간 지속적이고 안정적으로 추진되고 있으며, 청주시 등 다른 참여주체들에 의해 당연히 추진해야 할 사업으로 인식되고 있다는 것은 매우 의미 있는 성과이다. 분석 결과, 초록마을사업을 추진하는 거버넌스 참여 주체들은 사업 참여가 자신들에게 이익이 된다는 합리적 선택의 판단에 근거하여 참여하고 있다. 그리고 참여 주체들은 초록마을사업이 정당성을 갖춘 사업으로 인식하고 있으며, 거버넌스 참여 과정에서 서로에 대한 신뢰를 축적하고 있고, 지속적으로 성공 경험을 하고 있음을 확인하였다. 결론적으로 초록마을사업의 지속성과 안정성이 강화되는 것을 확인할 수 있었으며, 초록마을사업 추진의 거버넌스가 제도화될 가능성이 더 높아졌음을 확인하였다.

Green Construction is the construction activities that conserved energy, land, water and material to reduce the negative effect to the environment while assuring essential demand on quality and safety during project construction. This paper critically examine the contribution of awareness and understanding, green construction practices and green construction innovation with the green construction benefits. A measurement model based on the theoretical framework and exploratory factor analysis was developed and tested using structural equation modelling technique. This study employs a survey research methodology involving a total of 346 respondents among construction contractors, developers, clients and consultants in the construction industry. The findings indicate that the awareness and understanding, green construction practices and green construction innovation are significant predictors of the green construction benefits. From the practical perspective, the findings should alert the construction participants on the need of awareness and understanding, green construction practices and green construction innovation towards the green construction benefits. In addition, the findings can be used as diagnostic tool for continuous improvements in the Malaysian construction industry.
