COVID-19 팬데믹 상황에서 대학신입생의 회복탄력성: 자원 증진 프로그램의 개발 (Resilience among Undergraduate Freshmen during the COVID-19 Pandemic: The Development of Resource Promotion Program)

  • Undergraduate freshmen are currently encountering numerous difficulties in adapting to college life due to the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic. Thus, several studies have underlined the need to develop interventions focused on undergraduate students' resilience during this situation. We adopted the service design method in identifying the difficulties faced by undergraduate freshmen during this pandemic, and also developed interventions for raising their resilience. The service design method is a person-centered approach which adopts the user's viewpoint in developing solutions, thereby enabling their requirements to be satisfied. Surveys and in-depth interviews revealed that undergraduate freshmen were experiencing psycho-emotional problems which were derived from schoolwork and college life. This is particularly the case with students who are experiencing greater levels of academic difficulty, and were insufficiently equipped with resources such as stress-coping strategies and social support. Four undergraduate freshmen were recruited online to test the effectiveness of a resource promotion program aimed at enhancing their resilience. This program has proved to be helpful in relieving daily/academic stress and in building relationships among freshmen, regarding which the participants showed a high level of satisfaction. The results were discussed by focusing on psycho-emotional difficulties and resources of college freshmen, as well as the effectiveness of the resource promotion program. Further research is required in order to verify the efficiency of the program and to confirm conclusions.

고등학생을 위한 공학 설계 기반 과학 교육 프로그램 개발 및 적용 (The Development and Application of a Science Education Program Based on Engineering Design Process for High School Students)

  • 본 연구는 고등학교 학생을 위한 공학 설계 기반 과학 교육 프로그램을 개발하고, 이를 적용하여 고등학생의 과학 관련 태도와 공학 설계 능력에 미치는 효과를 알아보고자 하였다. 본 연구에서 개발한 공학 설계 기반 과학 교육 프로그램은 '바른 자세를 유지할 수 있는 건강 신발 만들기'이며 공학 설계 과정인 문제 정의, 정보 수집, 창안, 구현, 평가 및 반성 등의 과정을 거쳐 학생이 일상생활의 문제를 해결하기 위해 공학 설계 과정을 방법론적으로 사용하여 창의적인 해결방안을 창안할 수 있는 활동으로 구성하였다. 공학 설계 기반 과학 교육프로그램을 적용한 결과, 고등학생의 과학 관련 태도와 공학 설계 능력이 향상되었다. 따라서 본 연구에서 개발한 공학 설계 기반 과학 교육 프로그램은 고등학생의 과학 관련 태도와 공학 설계 능력 향상에 긍정적인 영향을 주고 있으며, 앞으로의 미래 과학 인재 양성을 위한 교수 학습 전략으로서 과학 교육에서 공학 설계 과정을 접목한 활동의 지속적인 운영과 확대가 필요함을 시사한다.

보건학 전공 대학생 대상 금연교육 프로그램 개발 (Development of Smoking Cessation Education Program for University Students Majoring in Health Sciences)

  • Objectives: This study aimed to develop a smoking cessation education program and to provide basic data for evaluating program for university students majoring in health sciences. Methods: The education program was developed based on the instructional system design model(ADDIE), that was based on literature review, brainstorming, and interviews of related experts. Education program was implemented for 2 sessions of 3 hours to the 82 university students majoring in health science. Knowledge, competency, and self-efficacy for performance of smoking cessation were analyzed. One group pre- & post-test design was used for evaluation of this program. Results: In the analysis stage, a total of 5 duties, 16 tasks, and 55 task elements were derived. In the design and development stage, based on job analysis, education program contents were composed of understanding tobacco, planning and implementation of smoking cessation program, smoking cessation counseling and drug treatment. After this education program, students achieved remarkable improvement in increasing knowledge, competency, and self-efficacy for smoking cessation counselling and program. Conclusions: It is needed to be included the smoking cessation education in department related to health science regular course.

향류형 냉각탑의 기본설계 프로그램 개발 (Program Development for Design of Counter-flow Cooling Tower)

  • This paper is to develop the program for sizing of a counter-flow cooling tower. Air flow, air exit tmperature, fan power are calculated from design coditions of cooling tower by using this program. The basic equations and solutions of the heat transfer and pressure drop of cooling tower are descrived and the algorithm development for design of cooling tower is performed. The variation of fan power of cooling tower in acoording to variation of cell area and fill height is performed by using this program. This result shows that the optimal design for install and running cost of cooling tower can be performed by using this program.

  • KAERI is in the process of carrying out the Nuclear Hydrogen Development and Demonstration (NHDD) Program. The indirect cycle gas cooled reactors that produce heat at temperatures in the order of $950^{\circ}C$ are being considered in the NHDD program. For the indirect gas cooled reactors, the intermediate hear exchanger (IHX) and hot gas duct (HGD) are the main components. For the NHDD program we are in the process of establishing a conceptual design of the IHX and HGD. The pre-conceptual design activities in this study dealt with a preliminary design of the IHX and the HGD including strength and thermal expansion evaluation of the main components.

자전형 로터를 갖는 복합 자이로플레인 개념설계 기법과 프로그램 개발에 관한 연구 (Conceptual Design Method and Program Development Study on Compound Gyroplane with Rotor and Wing)

  • A design study has been performed to obtain configuration and weight of a compound gyroplane. A study of research trends and characteristics was performed to develop the compound gyroplane sizing program. Based on these results, the sizing program has been developed and its suitability has been validated using existing compound gyroplane data. The subject air vehicles was a Challis Heliplane UAV, Carter Coptet, FB-1 Gyrodyne, and Jet Gyrodyne. As results, the program was suitable to size a compound gyroplane at conceptual design phase, because the greatest error rate was less than 10% and the conceptual design allowance error rate is less than 15%.

  • In order to build a transient simulation program for a high thrust liquid rocket engine(LRE), a static performance simulation program for components were made. The components were the thrust chamber (combustion chamber and supersonic nozzle), centrifugal pump (impeller and volute casing), impulse turbine, and flow control devices (control valve and orifice). Simplified mathematical models based on classical thermodynamic and inviscid theories were used to remove complexity and enhance the utility of the program. We examined the results of each program qualitatively for validate each component modeling.

공학설계와 지역사회봉사활동을 통합한 서비스러닝 교육프로그램 운영 사례 및 효과 (A case study on the effect of service learning education program integrating engineering design and community service activities)

  • The purpose of this study is to develop a service learning education program for engineers and to investigate its educational effects. This study reviewed the concept and characteristics of service learning and examined the service learning education programs operated in higher education environments. The Service Learning Education Program was developed by integrating engineering design and community service activities. This program has been applied to the engineering education from 2014 to 2016. As a result of the study, the learners' satisfaction with service learning activities, empathy ability, and engineering design ability were improved. Based on the research results, practical implications are suggested to the instructors who want to develop the service learning education program for engineering students.

  • Recently, the artificial intelligence(AI) is used in various environments in life, and research on this is being actively conducted in education. In this paper, we designed a Design-Based Research(DBR)-based AI programming education program and analyzed the application of the program for the improvement of understanding of AI in elementary school. In the artificial intelligence education program in elementary school, we should considerthat itshould be used in conjunction with software education through programming activities, rather than creating interest through simple AI experiences. The designed education program reflects the collaborative problem-solving procedures following the DBR process of analysis - design - execution - redesign, allowing the real-world problem-solving activities using AI experiences and block-type programming language. This paper also examined the examples of education programs to improve understanding of AI by using Machine Learning for Kids and to draw implications for developing and operating such a program.

3D 프린팅을 이용한 소형 무인기 설계·제작 교육 프로그램을 위한 수업자료 개발과 적용 (Development of Instructional Materials for Micro-UAV Design and Production Program using 3D Printers and Its Application)

  • This study introduces the development and application of instructional materials for a micro-UAV (unmanned aerial vehicle) design and manufacturing program in university education for freshman/sophomore students. The ADDIE methodology was applied to the development of educational materials, which consist of 15 lessons including the aircraft design theory, 3D CAD modeling, 3D printing production, and UAV flight control. The validity of the program was evaluated with 8 expert panels. A total of 82 participants from engineering and social science grouped the 16 teams for the creative UAV wing design and cooperative interactions. The results of overall program satisfaction survey was measured highly as the average 4.54 (out of 5), so that the students were content with the professional engineering knowledge, 3D digital tools, and the opportunity to design and manufacture airplanes on their own. In conclusion, it can be confirmed that the developed program is effective for UAV education for junior level college student.
