국내 석면조사기관의 품질관리 수준에 대한 평가 (Evaluation of Quality Management of Domestic Asbestos Survey and Monitoring Service Providers)

  • Objectives: The aim of this study is to evaluate the quality management systems of domestic asbestos survey and monitoring service providers and the relationships with the number of licenses or designations and sales performances. Methods: Data on quality management systems were collected by assessors who were assigned by the Korea Occupational Safety and Health Agency(KOSHA) during a pilot evaluation program for designated asbestos survey and monitoring service providers in 2016 using evaluation criteria developed by KOSHA. Basic characteristics, evaluated scores, and sales performance were gathered and statistically analyzed. Results: The median and arithmetic mean of the total scores were 0.64 and 0.66. Evaluation fields that scored highly with the highest percentages were sales performance, installation and availability of equipment, compliance with the mandatory minimum number of airborne samples, laboratory independence, and results of proficiency analytical testing, in that order. Evaluation fields that received low marks with the highest percentages were the training of personnel, blank field samples, calibration of flow rates, preliminary check and visual inspection of the work area prior to the clearance test, and review and approval of final reports, in that order. Comparison of normalized scores between service providers registered for asbestos and other tasks and those designated for only asbestos showed significant differences in their evaluated scores. Sales performance did not show a positive correlation with evaluated scores. Conclusions: The quality management systems of domestic asbestos survey and monitoring service providers were poor. High scores were recorded mostly in evaluation fields related to regulatory requirements. Low scores were recorded mostly in evaluation fields related to documentation and recordkeeping. Considering the low influence of quality on sales performance, the government needs to evaluate the quality management of asbestos survey and monitoring service providers and provide the results to public in order to address their low levels of quality management.

치위생학과 학생과 보건의료계열 학생의 교육활동과 교육성과에 대한 비교 (Comparison of educational activities and performance of dental hygiene and other healthcare students)

  • Background: Dental hygienists undergo 3 or 4 years of college education, and dental hygienist education must receive continuous feedback through evaluation. The purpose of this study was to compare the educational performance of students from the Department of Dental Hygiene in 2018 with those from other departments in the healthcare field. Methods: We used data from the National Assessment of Student Engagement in Learning, conducted by the Korean Educational Development Institute in 2018. The survey data of 55 dental hygiene students and 60 healthcare students at K University were provided after excluding all identifying information. An independent t-test was used for comparisons between the Department of Dental Hygiene and other healthcare departments. Results: Regarding class-related activities, dental hygiene students were passive in presentations, discussions, and projects and had significantly lower grades in cooperative learning and challenging learning. Regarding extra-class activities, dental hygiene students had significantly lower global learning and external experiences, domestic experiences, club activities, and interactions with professors. Regarding learning outcomes, students had significantly lower grades in writing, speaking, critical and analytical thinking, data evaluation, understanding of data meaning, problem-solving ability, goal setting and execution, core content extraction, human and material resource utilization, creative convergence thinking, statistical understanding and analysis, information technology use, collaboration, sense of community, stress management, time management, and foreign language proficiency. Conclusions: Dental hygiene education requires innovation in educational methods and efforts of instructors to improve poor learning activities and outcomes.

Putting Images into Second Language: Do They Survive in the Written Drafts?

  • Much has already been learned about what goes on in the minds of second language writers as they compose, yet, oddly enough, until recently little in the L2 research literature has addressed writing and mental imagery together. However, images and imaging (visual thinking) play a crucial role in perception (the basis of mental imagery), in turn, affecting language, thinking, and writing. Many theorists of mental imagery also agree that more than just language accounts for how we think and that imagery is at least as crucial as language. All of these demands, to be sure, are compounded for EFL students, which is why I investigate EFL students' writing process, focusing on the use of mental imagery and its relationship to the writing. First I speculate upon some ways that imagery influences EFL students' composing processes and products. Next, I want to explore how and whether the images in a writer's mind can be shaped effectively into a linear piece of written English in one's writing. I studied two university undergraduate EFL students, L and J. They had fairly advanced levels of English proficiency and exhibited high level of writing ability, as measured by TOEFL iBT Test. Each student wrote two comparison and contrast essays: one written under specified time limitations and the other written without the pressure of time. In order to investigate whether the amount of time in itself causes differences within an individual in imagery ability, the students were placed under strict time constraints for Topic 1. But for Topic 2, they were encouraged to take as much time as necessary to complete this essay. Immediately after completing their essays, I conducted face-to-face retrospective interviews with students to prompt them for information about the role of imagery as they write. Both L and J have spent more time on their second (untimed) essays. Without time constraint, they produced longer texts on untimed essay (149 vs. 170; 186 vs 284 words). However, despite a relatively long period of time spent writing an essay, these students neither described their images nor detailed them in their essays. Although their mental imagery generated an explosion of ideas for their writings, most visual thinking must merely be a means toward an end-pictures that writers spent in purchasing the right words or ideas.

건설사업 입찰 텍스트의 BIM 수행 난이도 추론을 위한 딥러닝 모델 (A Deep Learning Model to Predict BIM Execution Difficulty Based on Bidding Texts in Construction Projects)

  • 일정 규모 이상의 공공 건설 프로젝트에 대한 BIM(Building Information Model) 적용이 의무화됨에 따라 입찰단계에서부터 BIM 요구사항에 대한 관련 절차 및 기술에 대한 폭넓은 이해가 요구되고 있다. 그러나 대부분의 중소 시공 및 엔지니어링 기업은 BIM 수행역량이 낮고 관련 기존 업무 프로세스의 BIM 적용에 대한 이해 높지 않아, 입찰 요구사항에 대한 인지가 어렵고 입찰단계의 합리적인 의사결정이 쉽지 않다. 따라서 본 연구는 BIM 입찰문서 용어를 포함한 형태소 분석기를 딥러닝 모델에 결합하여 입찰문서의 BIM 요구사항의 난이도 판별 방법을 제시한다. 제안된 딥러닝 모델의 매개변수 영향이 조사되었으며 예측 결과의 타당성이 검토되었다. 그 결과, 제안된 모델이 시험 데이터에 대해 F1-score 0.83의 성능을 가지며, 모델의 판별 결과 또한 실제 BIM 수행 난이도를 타당하게 반영하고 있음을 보였다.

BIM 운용 전문가 시험을 통한 ChatGPT의 BIM 분야 전문 지식 수준 평가 (Evaluating ChatGPT's Competency in BIM Related Knowledge via the Korean BIM Expertise Exam)

  • ChatGPT, a chatbot based on GPT large language models, has gained immense popularity among the general public as well as domain professionals. To assess its proficiency in specialized fields, ChatGPT was tested on mainstream exams like the bar exam and medical licensing tests. This study evaluated ChatGPT's ability to answer questions related to Building Information Modeling (BIM) by testing it on Korea's BIM expertise exam, focusing primarily on multiple-choice problems. Both GPT-3.5 and GPT-4 were tested by prompting them to provide the correct answers to three years' worth of exams, totaling 150 questions. The results showed that both versions passed the test with average scores of 68 and 85, respectively. GPT-4 performed particularly well in categories related to 'BIM software' and 'Smart Construction technology'. However, it did not fare well in 'BIM applications'. Both versions were more proficient with short-answer choices than with sentence-length answers. Additionally, GPT-4 struggled with questions related to BIM policies and regulations specific to the Korean industry. Such limitations might be addressed by using tools like LangChain, which allow for feeding domain-specific documents to customize ChatGPT's responses. These advancements are anticipated to enhance ChatGPT's utility as a virtual assistant for BIM education and modeling automation.

The Effects of Authenticity Perception on Used Trading App Service Satisfaction

  • As the used trading market grows centered on online platforms, it is evolving from practical consumption to pursuing various forms of consumption value. Consumers purchase rare products, enjoy the transaction itself with consumers with the same preference, and investment or eco-friendly value consumption is also increasing. In this regard, the transaction of the second-hand transaction app service must have sincerity in order to respond to various consumption values. In addition, it is necessary to study what components the second-hand trading app service should aim for to secure authenticity and how the usefulness and ease of second-hand trading apps affect the relationship. The research used a questionnaire method to test hypotheses and surveyed 215 consumers in their 20s, 30s, and 40s who had purchased used clothing online within a year. Among them, 200 responses, excluding outliers, were statistically analyzed using SPSS 21.0 and AMOS 22.0 as confirmatory factor analysis and structural equation models. This study aims to determine the effect of the authenticity of the online used trading app service on the satisfaction of the used trading app service. To this end, based on the previous research results, the following research hypotheses were established and verified statistically. First, the authenticity of the online used trading app service will significantly impact the satisfaction of the used trading app service. Second, the usefulness of the used trading app service will have a moderating effect on the effect of the authenticity of the used trading app service on the satisfaction of the used trading app service. Third, the ease of the used trading app service will have a moderating effect on the authenticity of the used trading app service on the satisfaction of the used trading app service. As a result of the study, the authenticity of the used trading app service significantly affected the satisfaction of the used trading app service. Appeared to be The results of this study will help understand used transaction app services where consumption of used products occurs from the viewpoint of product circular use behavior and can be used as a strategic plan to promote the use of used transaction apps in the future.

Corpus of Eye Movements in L3 Spanish Reading: A Prediction Model

  • This research centers on the Taiwan Eye-Movement Corpus of Spanish (TECS), a specially created corpus comprising eye-tracking data from Chinese-speaking learners of Spanish as a third language in Taiwan. Its primary purpose is to explore the broad utility of TECS in understanding language learning processes, particularly the initial stages of language learning. Constructing this corpus involves gathering data on eye-tracking, reading comprehension, and language proficiency to develop a machine-learning model that predicts learner behaviors, and subsequently undergoes a predictability test for validation. The focus is on examining attention in input processing and their relationship to language learning outcomes. The TECS eye-tracking data consists of indicators derived from eye movement recordings while reading Spanish sentences with temporal references. These indicators are obtained from eye movement experiments focusing on tense verbal inflections and temporal adverbs. Chinese expresses tense using aspect markers, lexical references, and contextual cues, differing significantly from inflectional languages like Spanish. Chinese-speaking learners of Spanish face particular challenges in learning verbal morphology and tenses. The data from eye movement experiments were structured into feature vectors, with learner behaviors serving as class labels. After categorizing the collected data, we used two types of machine learning methods for classification and regression: Random Forests and the k-nearest neighbors algorithm (KNN). By leveraging these algorithms, we predicted learner behaviors and conducted performance evaluations to enhance our understanding of the nexus between learner behaviors and language learning process. Future research may further enrich TECS by gathering data from subsequent eye-movement experiments, specifically targeting various Spanish tenses and temporal lexical references during text reading. These endeavors promise to broaden and refine the corpus, advancing our understanding of language processing.

아동의 운동기능평가에 대한 Interactive Metronome® LFA의 타당도 연구 (Validity of Long Form Assessment in Interactive Metronome® as a Measure of Children's Praxis)

  • 목적 : 본 연구의 목적은 상호작용식 메트로놈(Interactive $Metronome^{(R)}$: IM)의 평가인 Long Form Assessment(LFA)의 구별타당도와 동시타당도를 알아보고자 하였다. 연구방법 : 연구대상은 경남과 부산지역에 거주하는 만 6세~만11세의 Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder(ADHD) 아동 25명과 일반 아동 25명을 대상으로 하였다. IM의 LFA에 대한 구별타당도를 알아보기 위하여 ADHD 아동과 일반 아동의 LFA 수행의 차이를 비교하였고, 동시타당도를 알아보기 위해 ADHD 아동을 대상으로 LFA와 Bruininks-Oseretsky Test of Motor Proficiency, second edition(BOT-2)와의 상관관계를 알아보았다. 결과 : 일반아동과 ADHD아동에서 IM의 LFA 과제수행을 비교한 결과 총점에서 유의한 차이가 있었다(p<.05). 둘째, ADHD 아동에서 IM의 LFA와 BOT-2의 상관관계를 분석한 결과 LFA의 총점과 BOT-2의 총점에서 비교적 높은 음의 상관관계를 보였다(p<.05). 또한 LFA의 총점과 BOT-2의 손의조절(rs=-.525) 영역에서 높은 상관관계를 보였으며, 미세운동 정확성(rs=-.447), 손의 기민성(rs=-.532)과 균형(rs=-.623) 하위항목에서 높은 음의 상관관계를 보였다(p<.05). 결론 : 연구결과를 통하여 IM의 LFA는 아동의 운동기능을 판별할 수 있는 도구로서 타당도를 확인하였다. IM의 LFA는 총점으로 운동 실행기능을 평가하는 것이 적절하며, 아동의 운동기능 평가를 위해 임상적으로 사용할 수 있으리라 생각된다.

그룹 감각통합치료가 발달장애 아동의 운동기능 및 사회성 증진에 미치는 영향 (The Effect of Group Sensory Integration Therapy on Motor Skill and Social Function of Children With Developmental Disorder)

  • 목적: 본 연구의 목적은 발달장애 아동에게 그룹 감각통합치료를 적용하여 아동의 운동기능 및 사회성 증진에 어떠한 영향을 미치는지 알아보고자 한다. 연구방법: 대전 S 아동연구소 감각통합치료실을 이용하는 아동 중, 발달장애 및 정신지체로 진단받은 아동 10명을 대상으로 하였다. 실험군은 그룹 감각통합치료에 참여하는 아동 5명, 대조군은 개별 감각 통합치료에 참여하는 아동 5명으로 주 1회 90분, 20주 동안 적용하였다. 아동의 운동기능 및 사회성 증진 정도를 측정하기 위한 사전 사후 검사로 운동적합성 검사(Bruininks-Oseretsky test of Motor Proficiency 2), 한국판 적응행동검사(Korean-Scales of Independent Behavior-Revised) 그리고 사회성숙도 검사(Social Maturity Scale)를 사용하였다. 결과: 그룹 감각통합치료 적용 전 후 실험군 대부분의 아동이 손/상지협응(Manual coordination)과 신체협응(Body coordination), 사회성 전반적 영역에서 기능향상을 보였지만, 통계적으로 유의미하지 않았다. 그러나 그룹 감각통합치료 프로그램 전 후 운동기능 및 사회성 향상의 차이는 실험군 아동이 대조군 아동보다 더 크게 나타났으며, 특히 손/상지협응(Manual coordination), 손기민성(Manual dexterity) 하위항목, 사회성숙도 검사의 사회연령, 사회지수에서 통계적으로 유의미하게 나타났다. 결론: 본 연구결과를 통하여 그룹 감각통합치료 프로그램이 발달장애 아동의 운동기능 및 사회성 기능증진에 효과가 있음을 알 수 있었다. 추후 보다 다양한 장애 유형의 아동을 대상으로 그룹 감각통합치료 프로그램을 적용하여 그 효과를 증명하는 연구가 진행되어야 할 것이다.

상호작용식 메트로놈(Interactive Metronome: IM)이 타이밍과 주의력, 운동기능에 미치는 영향: 사례보고 (Effect of Interactive Metronome® Training on Timing, Attention and Motor Function of Children With ADHD : Case Report)

  • 목적 : Interactive Metronome(IM) 훈련프로그램이 ADHD 아동의 타이밍과 주의력 그리고 운동기능에 미치는 영향을 사례보고 하고자 한다. 연구방법 : ADHD진단을 받은 일반초등학교 1학년에 재학 중인 2008년생 남아(사례1)와 일반중학교 2학년에 재학 중인 2001년생 남아(사례2)를 대상으로 2015년 1월 12일부터 2월 6일까지 4주간 IM 훈련프로그램을 적용하였다. 본 연구에서는 IM Pro 9.0을 이용하여 타이밍 향상을 위한 중재로 사용하였다. 총 3주간, 주 5회, 총 15회기, 회기 당 50-60분간 적용하였다. 또한 IM 훈련프로그램의 중재 효과를 알아보기 위해 중재 전후에 타이밍, 주의력, 운동기능을 평가하였는데 평가 도구로는 타이밍 향상을 평가하기 위해 IM의 Long Form Assessment(LFA)를 사용하였다. 주의력을 평가하기 위해 Rhehacom 판별 검사(RehaCom screening module)를 사용하였고, 운동 기능을 평가하기 위해 Bruininks-Oseretsky Test of Motor Proficiency 2판(BOT-2)를 사용하였다. 결과 : LFA의 타이밍 능력의 평가 결과는 사례 아동 모두에서 전체 운동과제의 평균 반응 속도가 감소되어 타이밍 기능이 향상되었음을 알 수 있었다. 주의력은 사례1 아동에서 시각적 분리 주의력(visual attention division), 편측무시(neglect) 그리고 충동 조절(response inhibition) 기능이 향상되었고. 사례2 아동에서는 지속적 주의력(sustained attention) 기능이 향상되었다. 운동기능은 BOT-2 단축폼(short form)의 백분위(%ile Rank)가 사례1 아동은 42%ile에서 96%ile로 향상되었고, 사례2 아동은 21%ile에서 66%ile로 향상되었다. 두 사례 아동 모두 양측 협응(bilateral coordination)항목과 상지 협응(upper-limb coordination)항목의 등가연령이 향상되었다. 결론 : 본 사례보고는 IM 훈련프로그램이 ADHD 아동의 타이밍, 주의력, 운동기능에 긍정적 효과가 있음을 시사한다.
