In this paper, we investigate and analyze the security ethics awareness and education situation of college students majoring in information security, and examine the security ethics education method for human resource development with personality and qualities. As the information society becomes more widespread, the ethics and occupational consciousness of the university students who are majoring in information security are recognized as lack of awareness and education about security ethics, As a solution to solve these problems, it is expected that it will be possible to nurture security experts who are aware of their vocation through the educational plan to enhance the security ethics of the information security major college students. • Engineering Ethics is a fundamental and essential subject and the understanding of ethics is of great importance for students in engineering courses and professional engineers. Most courses would consist of ethical tests, decision making opportunities, case studies, case methods, and group discussion. It is important to consider each case carefully, so we offer a number of hypothetical short stories to students as case methods that they cover in detail. We check the behavior decisions of students as they read the hypothetical short stories. In this study, the short story was about 200 words in length. This paper shows how, with the addition of minor changes to the text, some students changed their behavioral decisions. For example, with the addition of "if you take financial liability for the losses," some thought that they would not want to carry the debt. Other cases showed how some students disliked the majority rule. The paper shows that this arranged hypothetical short story method can often guide student's decision-making process, and can result in decreased undesirable decisions.

  • The economic depression during the last decade of the 20th century caused various drastic changes in the social structure, including employment and educational systems. Japanese universities have devoted much effort to research activity and the development of teaching methodology for engineering education was not a major effort for professors. Decrease of 18 years old population, however, forced universities to change this attitude. University education is no more for only elite but is becoming very popular among young people. Another impact came from the 'globalization'of industrial societies such as establishment of WTO and APEC. Japan Accreditation Board for Engineering Education (JABEE) was established to cope with both domestic and international problems in 1999, and JABEE was admitted as a full signatory member of the Washington Accord in 2005. The Professional Engineer Law was amended linked with JABEE. The importance of engineering ethics has been recognized with these social structure changes. Japanese Society for Engineering Education (JSEE) is contributing for reformation of Japanese engineering education through its activities including supporting JABEE. This paper describes the problems now Japanese engineering education is facing and the role of JSEE in order to reorganize the engineering education in Japan.

  • Purpose. Professional nursing ethics is a living, dynamic set of standards for nurses' professional moral behavior. Furthermore, in daily clinical nursing training, nursing students are constantly confronted with decision-making that is moral in nature. The aim of this study was to identify the perceived ethical attitudes in the clinical training process of senior nursing students using Q-methodology to offer basic strategies for nursing ethics education and thereby improve patients' care. Methods. Q-methodology provides a scientific method for identifying perception structures that exist within certain individuals or groups. Thirty-seven participants in a university rated 38 selected Q-statements on a scale of 1-9. The collected data were analyzed using pc-QUNAL software. Results. Principal component analysis identified 3 types of ethical attitudes in nursing students in Korea. The categories were labeled Sacred-life, Science-realistic and Humane-life. Sacred-life individuals think that a life belongs to an absolute power (God), not a man, and a human life is a high and noble thing. Science-realistic individuals disagreed that allowing an induced abortion or embryo (human) duplication is unethical behavior that provokes a trend, which takes the value of a life lightly; most of them took a utilitarian position with respect to ethical decisions. Humane-life individuals exhibit a tendency toward human-centered thought with respect to ethical attitudes. Conclusion. This study will be of interest to educators of students of nursing and hospital nursing administrators. Also, the findings may provide the basis for the development of more appropriate strategies to improve nursing ethics education programs.
