Objective: The researchers aimed to explore the 'what' and the 'how' of childcare consulting. This study was focused on finding out how child care teachers perceived the process of implementing childcare consulting and their thoughts about the transformation of childcare consulting based on their participating experience. Methods: This study was based on the transverse-continuous design using qualitative research methodology. The participants were eight experienced childcare teachers that were childcare consulting in 2015 or 2020. The data were collected through in-depth interviews. Results: The main findings in exploring meanings and implications of childcare consulting were as follows. First, childcare consulting was recognized as a process of learning about changes through mutual relationships. Second, the different ways to practice childcare consulting, the formation of the learning culture of an organization to help experience collective intelligence, the process of finding various solutions through mutual communication, and the improvement of childcare teachers' professional capabilities while reflecting the current times and context were all investigated. Conclusion/Implications: Given the findings of the study, the importance of childcare consulting, and the ways to establish its systems were discussed.
The College of engineering's capstone design is student-team-centred learning based on project-based learning and is one of the most important courses for students aiming to be competent professional engineers capable of solving real industrial problems. Therefore, in order to resolve the capstone problems, various face-to-face contacts such as frequent industrial site visits, multiple meetings with diverse people including team members, and repeated contacts with course-supervising and team-advising professors are prerequisite processes. However, according to the transition to fully online education due to the global pandemic of COVID-19, capstone design courses for 2020 and 2021 were also conducted online. Based on the modified students' evaluations of educational quality (SEEQ) with 3 perspectives such as curriculum, teaching-staff and students themselves, this study compares their evaluations of offline capstone designs from 2013 to 2019 and online capstone designs in 2020 and 2021 in the context of COVID-19. In 3 perspectives, the difference in students' evaluation of the online capstone between the beginning and the end of the course shows a positive effect, which is better than the offline capstone. Also, in various dimensions for each perspective, the online capstone shows a better evaluation than the offline capstone. These findings suggest that the online capstone design curriculum can be expected to have educational effects as well as students' satisfaction with the online curriculum in the future.

This study was conducted to examine the effects of a simulation-based learning method that utilizes the task of making a video for respiratory patients care. A quasi-experimental non-equivalent control group pre-post test design was used. A total of 56 students-28 students in the experimental group and 28 students in the control group were included. The experimental group received the 2 education sessions with 120 minutes in each session. It was implemented in November, 2014. Data were analyzed with paired t-test and unpaired t-test using SPSS/Win 18.0. The experimental group who had the simulation-based learning method utilizing the task of making video. It showed significantly higher learning satisfaction (p=.008 p<.001), and self-efficacy (p=.010) compared with the control group who had a traditional simulation education. Through this study, The educational effects of video-making task are the stimulation of interest in learners, improvement of self-led learning and communication skills. Therefore, a simulation-based learning method utilizing the task of making a video was an effective teaching method for the growth of professional competency for students involved in health related fields.

The COVID-19 pandemic has changed everything, even education. Last year when distance learning was introduced, science teachers faced many challenges to overcome. However, teachers adapted quickly, and in this year, it became the 'new normal'. In this situation, teachers are likely to habitually repeat past practices, but the context of the second year of distance learning is changing constantly, and teachers are asked to interpret the problem occurring in a situation and to adjust their practice for solving the problem with their teacher agency. In this study, we explore the emergence of science teacher agency and factors shaping teacher agency in the second year of distance learning and we focus on teachers' agentic practice that did not follow their past practice without reflection. For this purpose, we mainly analyze the semi-constructed interview of three science teachers. In the first year of distance learning, two teachers maintained their practice, not much different to face-to-face learning. However, one teacher reflected upon herself and started to recognize and solve her problems. Reflection for her practice can support this process. Another teacher changed her practice due to external suggestions, but it evolved her practice to fit the situation better, and her experience of last year helped her to adapt to the change. The other teacher who modified her practice to persist her professional purpose last year was consistently practicing in the second year and collaboration and autonomy can support her. This study shows the teachers' dynamic change of agency and the emergence for the relational interaction between teacher and context.
Because of the need of actual performance of education, this study aims to understand how the factors of educational content and organizational characteristics affect organizational commitment and work performance, which are organizational effects, through learning transfer. As a result, task value, job relevance, and organizational compensation had a significant effect on learning transfer, learning transfer had a significant effect on organizational commitment and work performance, and organizational commitment had a significant effect on work performance. In order to increase the learning transfer of education, when specifying the connection with the actual job and strengthening the compensation system of the members, the learning transfer can be increased and eventually connected to performance. Since limited variables are considered, a more representative sample or professional group should be extracted through future research. In future studies, it will be possible to closely grasp the relationship between learning transfer and organizational effectiveness by setting representative samples and specifying variables.

The purpose of this research is to share the experience of reflective practice of a Home Economics teacher professional learning community(PLC) operator and to share better suggestions through reflection on PLC operation. All conversation in the 18 sessions of the PLC totally from May 31st 2013 to May 19th 2014 was recorded and transcribed. All materials of PLC activity were qualitatively analysed. Its themes were grounded on its coding and categorization scheme. Findings and conclusions of this study are as followings. The experience of learning the PLC for a year has found that it is the power to keep the PLC alive: courage and anxiety to face anxiety and anxiety about new challenges, the importance of theme selection, a teacher with a reckless challenge, shares of becoming a leader. Through reflection, I learned that concerns require attention to other teachers and the need for a 'New Round' for ongoing meetings. I, as a operator, did not fully consider participant's different interest as well as a program for a new round due to the lack of management experience. It led to the low participations in latter sessions of PLC. Suggestions are put as solutions to improve these problems; (1) grouping participants by school levels when collecting participants, (2) setting operation period and program applying participants' opinions, and (3) operating short-term PLC with certain themes to immerse reaching goal and satisfaction in short time.
What are the identification criteria elementary school teachers prefer? What are the characteristics of students that teachers consider when nominating them to gifted programs? Will those criteria of identification/nomination differ as to teacher experiences related to gifted education or teacher involvement in the professional development? This study aims to find the answer to these questions. For this purpose, a total of 511 elementary school teachers with a varying degree of experiences with gifted education were recruited from 23 schools in 11 school districts in Seoul. The results show that teachers generally preferred task commitment, creativity, curiosity, and domain specific talents as criteria for identifying gifted students, while perceiving achievement records, total grades, leadership, and general intelligence as less important. Teachers experienced in gifted education or having been involved in professional development perceived curiosity, task commitment, and creativity as more important than teachers without such experiences. The importance-performance analysis of identification criteria indicates that teachers reported high importance on task commitment, curiosity, and creativity, but those factors were less considered in actual nomination. On the contrary, teachers reported low importance on quick learning and achievement(total grades, subject grades), but those were highly considered in nomination. A similar pattern was found in both experienced and nonexperienced teachers although the importance-performance gap was higher for the latter. Implications for teacher nominations and professional development were discussed.
Objective: The purpose of this study is to provide basic data on physical activity management plans for different developmental levels in infants. This study analyses the difference between support requests and the professional practical of evaluations, content selection, and physical activity management plans displayed by teachers of one and two-year-old infants. Methods: The subjects of the study were 221 teachers from child care centers throughout J-do to whom a questionnaire containing 51 questions was distributed. Collected data was verified with a chi-squared test and an independent samples t-test. Results: First, among variables of professional practical of physical activities, some factors including class size, class planners and leaders, the number of outdoor classes per week and requisite time, parts of related education plans, parts of content selection for physical activities, and parts of the evaluation of physical activities showed significant differences depending on the class. Second, among variables of support requests when implementing physical activities, some factors including methods of preparing physical activity plans, teaching -learning methods, evaluation methods, body expression activity programs, and parts of physical exercise in the standardized child care curriculum of refresher and extension courses showed significant differences depending on the class. Conclusion/Implications: This study discusses the effective management of refresher and extension courses as a way to improve physical activity management plans and teachers' support requests for infants aged 1 to 2.

Research-based professional development is essential for in-service and pre-service science teachers across the nation. The purpose of this study was to examine in-service science teachers' and pre-service teachers' perception of the training program for professional development using advanced science laboratory equipment and experiments. Science teachers (N= 43) in science high schools and pre-service science teachers (N=189) were selected as research subjects. As a result of this study, in-service teachers and pre-service teachers recognized that they lacked understanding and experience in advanced science laboratory equipment, although they perceived the importance of its use. They wanted to attend training programs during vacation if they would have the opportunity. Both groups felt that they needed to improve their ability to operate the advanced science lab equipment, preferring to practice these instruments in the training programs. In-service teachers preferred the development of teaching and learning programs for use of the advanced science laboratory equipment. However, pre-service teachers preferred using the advanced science laboratory equipment. The study gives implications for teachers' professional development.

In this paper, we present a new model of web-based reading education system. The existing web-based reading education system was effective to reinforce interactions of the learners and elevate their reading interests, but the usability of web-based system was extremely unsatisfied during the process of reading required for a long time because it placed importance on the guidance as a result of reading. This paper has divided reading education activities depending upon the times: before reading, during reading and after reading, etc. Web-based reading strategies, which can be actively used at each stage, have been developed to do interaction actively among teachers, students and their parents. Furthermore, application methods of the strategies have been presented depending upon teaching-learning type of Korean language subject, such as professional's cooperative learning and problem solving learning, etc to revitalize reading guidance of regular Korean language class time.
