This paper primarily intends to explore whether smartphones accelerate the customer education paradox. Smartphone usage is becoming a mainstream habit, and it is changing people's shopping experience and conventional practices, hence presenting new challenges to the market. A smartphone affects customers strongly when they are trying to choose a product/service among a variety of options, and making purchase decisions. With smartphones bringing such changes and challenges to the market, especially to the companies and stores, it is important to understand market trends in order to retain the loyalty of existing customers as well as to attract new buyers. Therefore, companies and stores should offer enhanced and better technical service quality, along with the use of tools such as QR codes. Further, mobile based websites would offer a suitable approach in assisting customers using smartphones to obtain better information of greater value. The results of this study imply that there is an opportunity for organizations to design various methods of imparting customer education by using smartphones, such as loading applications on a smartphone that lead to more information with good quality and present real benefits regarding the products/services.
The "3+3 Process" for safety critical software for nuclear power plants' I&C (Instrumentation and Control system) has been developed in this work. The main idea of the "3+3 Process" is both to simplify the software development and safety analysis in three steps to fulfill the requirements of a software safety plan [1]. The "3-Step" software development process consists of formal modeling and simulation, automated code generation and coverage analysis between the model and the generated source codes. The "3-Step" safety analysis consists of HAZOP (hazard and operability analysis), FTA (fault tree analysis), and DV (design validation). Put together, these steps are called the "3+3 Process". This scheme of development and safety analysis minimizes the V&V work while increasing the safety and reliability of the software product. For assessment of this process, validation has been done through prototyping of the SDS (safety shut-down system) #1 for PHWR (Pressurized Heavy Water Reactor).

Die design of die casting is composed of selection of cast alloy, design of die casting product, runner design and gate design, etc. In reality, however, die design of die casting has been performed by trial and error method, which cause economic and financial loss. Nowadays, several FEM(finite element method) and FDM(finite difference method) codes have been developed to analyze process of die casting, but this is just confined to an offer of limited information for die design of die casting. In this study, die design system for gate of die casting process has been developed to present algorithm for automation of die design, especially runner-gate system. In addition, specific rules for runner-gate system have been presented to avoid too many trials and errors with expensive equipment. It is possible for engineers to make automatic and efficient die design of die casting and it will result in reduction of expense and time to be required.
With the market evaluation of economic globalization exchanges between different cultures, cultural trade has been developing at an accelerated speed, and also playing an important role in East Asian intra-regional trade. In this research the author used gravity trade model to explain the causal relationship between dependent variable trade flows and several independent variables applying with five categories cultural goods which classified in HS codes. Firstly for cultural heritage trade flow, the results indicated that economic masses of bilateral countries have no significant influences on it; GDP per capita of host country and adjacency factor with partner country have significant negative influences on it; Internet coverage ratio has improved cultural heritages exchanges in East Asian regions. Secondly for printed matter cultural goods trade flow, the distance factor has significant negative influence but common language has significant positive influence on it. Thirdly for recorded media cultural goods, only economic masses and GDP per capita of bilateral countries can improved their trade flows. Fourthly for visual arts cultural products trade flows, almost all variables we tested have significant influences on it. Fifthly for cinema photography cultural goods trade flow, the influenced factor are same with cultural heritage products except they have strong positive interaction relationship with economic masses and common language. At last, the paper figured out some important and potential sectors for cultural goods trade in East Asia and gave some suggestions to government and cultural goods product enterprises.
Purpose - This paper's aim is to analyze the technological information in patent databanks as a strategy in prospecting for new technologies. Research design, data, and methodology - We detail the major free electronic database sources for patent information, the patent documents, the patent document structures, INID codes (Internationally Agreed Numbers for the Identification of Data), indexation, references, and classification notions. Additionally, we review and analyze information on the activities of the Center of Dissemination Documentation and Technological Information (CEDIN) from the National Institute of Intellectual Property (INPI) of Brazil for the period 2000 to 2011. Results - The research shows that the technological information contained in the patents could provide a wide range of functionality within companies and universities. Conclusions - In recent years, (CEDIN), a specialist in intellectual property, has been serving internal and external users by providing guidance on the basis of patents and other literature, but the number of users served is still small. In order to familiarize more potential users of such technological information, task forces should be created among INPI, universities, and companies.

Arts gains a new relation as the new academic area that deals with living organisms and through this technology, it affects everything, such as the body, entity, consciousness and unconsciousness to bring an overall change. Based on this premise, arts require a different interpretation from the previous product-focused interpretation or the analysis focusing on the aesthetics. As the result of arts using the scientific methods, I examined the changes of the arts semantics and how it evolved with what kind of contents and characteristics. The net art with the internet base also form a close relationship with the social and cultural codes. In categorizing the social issues and the topical discussions with semantic factors that evolve from the digital biological perspective, it can be divided into four types of complex interaction, positive feedback negative feedback, and amplification of unsettledness. Based on the characteristics of the multimedia and the interactive reaction, the technique and the imagery amplify the message through a spatial and timely meeting in a mutual repletion. In other words, the emotional communication is used to attempt the messages from the products and the expression in various methods.

A low density parity check (LDPC) decoder provides a most powerful error control capability for mobile communication devices and storage systems, due to its performance being close to Shannon's limit. In this paper, we introduce an efficient overlapped LDPC decoding algorithm using a upper dual-diagonal parity check matrix structure. By means of this algorithm, the LDPC decoder can concurrently execute parts of the check node update and variable node update in the sum-product algorithm. In this way, we can reduce the number of clock cycles per iteration as well as reduce the total latency. The proposed decoding structure offers a very simple control and is very flexible in terms of the variable bit length and variable code rate. The experiment results show that the proposed decoder can complete the decoding of codewords within 70% of the number of clock cycles required for a conventional non-overlapped decoder. The proposed design also reduces the power consumption by 33% when compared to the non-overlapped design.

Finite or Galois fields have been used in numerous applications such as error correcting codes, digital signal processing and cryptography. These applications often require exponetiation on GF(2$^{m}$ ) which is a very computationally intensive operation. Most of the existing methods implemented the exponetiation by iterative methods using repeated multiplications, which leads to much computational load, or needed much hardware cost because of their structural complexity in implementing. In this paper, we present an effective VLSI architecture for exponentiation on GF(2$^{m}$ ). This circuit computes the exponentiation by multiplying product terms, each of which corresponds to an exponent bit. Until now use of this type algorithm has been confined to a primitive element but we generalize it to any elements in GF(2$^{m}$ ).
Direct-conversion receivers often suffer from a DC-offset that is a by-product of the direct conversion process to baseband. In general, a basic approach to reduce the DC-offset is to do simple average of the baseband signal and remove the DC by subtracting the average. However, this gives rise to a residual DC offset which degrades the performance when the receiver adopts the coding schemes with high coding rates such as 8-PSK. Therefore, more advanced methods should be additionally required for better performance. While the training sequences are basically designed to have good auto-correlation properties to facilitate the channel estimation, they may be not good for the simultaneous estimation of the channel response and the DC-offset. Also the DC offset compensation under a bad condition does not give good results due to the estimation error. Correspondingly, the proposed scheme employs the two important points. First, the training sequence codes are divided into two groups by MSE(Mean Squared Errors) for estimating the channel taps and then SNR calculated from each group is compared to predefined threshold to do fine DC-offset estimation. Next, ON/OFF module is applied for preventing performance degradation by large estimation error under severe channel conditions. The simulation results of the proposed scheme shows good performances compared to the existing algorithm. As a result, this scheme is surely applicable to the receiver design in many communications systems.

The determination of the shape and rising velocity of gas bubbles in a liquid pool is of great importance in analyzing the radioactive aerosol emissions from nuclear power plant accidents in terms of the fission product release rate and the pool scrubbing efficiency of radioactive aerosols. This article suggests a simple parameterization for the gas bubble rising velocity as a function of the volume-equivalent bubble diameter; this parameterization does not require prior knowledge of bubble shape. This is more convenient than previously suggested parameterizations because it is given as a single explicit formula. It is also shown that a bubble shape diagram, which is very similar to the Grace's diagram, can be easily generated using the parameterization suggested in this article. Furthermore, the boundaries among the three bubble shape regimes in the $E_o-R_e$ plane and the condition for the bypass of the spheroidal regime can be delineated directly from the parameterization formula. Therefore, the parameterization suggested in this article appears to be useful not only in easily determining the bubble rising velocity (e.g., in postulated severe accident analysis codes) but also in understanding the trend of bubble shape change due to bubble growth.
