  • There are various types of PLM(product liability management) according to corporation management level. It is necessary to develop diagnostic methods and application systems for PLM as well as to establish an efficient PLM system. This paper aims to propose a PLM system which can be applied to product with high-reliability and high-safety, and diagnostic methods for PLM based on AHP, and also show an empirical application of the proposed PL management system for Auto Test Robot System of the Mobile Phone (EVT 4320).

  • In July 2002, law of product liability will be established in Korea. Therefore, prevention for product liability(PL) will be immediately needed for many companies. So, in this paper, following topics will be discussed: 1) what are product liability and product safety, 2) why they are needed, 3) why important, 4) what's the difference between considering PL and not considering PL for companies, 5 ) what are risk management methods and risk evaluation system, 6) what is SASA(Systematic Approach to Accident Scenario Analysis) method for applying PL, 7) providing a final conclusion and discussion for future PL law.

  • PL (Product Liability) refers to the legal responsibility of a manufacturer or seller for bodily injuries or property losses caused by product defects. Therefore, it is important for companies to construct a product liability response system that strategically manage and effectively adapt to product liability. A PL response system refers to companywide operations of PL prevention (PLP) measures, product safety (PS) measures, and PL defense (PLD) measures appropriate for a company's scale and environment. To establish an enterprise product liability response system, each essential component of corporations should be systematically operated and maintained considering the scale and characteristics of the corporations. Essential components of PL response system is Strategy, Organization, Training, Technology, Investment, and Awareness. Role of essential components is that companies need specific strategies to secure product safety and protect customers from product defects, and appropriate organizations must be composed for effective operation of such strategies. The objective of this paper seeks to examine the relationships among the essential components of the product liability response system and PL performance. PL performance consists of positive performance and negative performance. In particular, positive performance include increased efforts in product or process innovation such as strengthening research and development (R&D) to produce safer products without defects. In order to carry out this research we obtained 98 questionnaire of manufacturing company. A summary of the analyses is as follows: First, the awareness and technology among essential components affect significantly to the positive performance. Second, the awareness and strategy among essential components negative affect to the negative performance.

  • 2002년 제조물책임법이 시행된 이후 정부에서는 종합시책을 확정하고, 업종별 PL센터를 설립하여 소비자 상담과 분쟁에 적극 대응하고 있다. 그러나 아직 많은 기업들이 제품고유의 안전성 확보를 위한 철학과 기술을 가지고 있지 못하여 제조물책임법에 대한 대응체계가 미흡한 것이 사실이다. 본 연구의 목적은 제조물책임 관련 안전사고와 리콜실태, 소비자 위해실태, Pl보험사고 소송사례 등을 실증적 사례중심으로 검토 분석하여 이를 토대로 제조물책임이 기업가치에 어떠한 영향을 미치는지 상호관계를 연구하고, 기업의 제조물책임 대응전략을 제시하는데 그 의미가 있다.

강원도 중소기업의 제조물책임법 대책에 대한 연구 (A Case Study on PL Management in Small and Medium-Sized Firms of Gangwon-Do Province)

  • Product liability(PL) is the producer's compensation to customers for damage incurred by product defects. This paper studies on the organizational culture, promotion process, system construction, system level, product safety review, product safety assurance, system operation, and its effectiveness and necessity of recognition for the PL system of small and medium-sized firms in Gangwon-Do province. The results show that the firms have product safety regulations, but the number of firms which its employees understand the regulations is less than the number of firms which do not understand. Also the number of firms which is preparing PL prevention and insurance, and counterplan for accidents seems to be not in large numbers.

  • Product liability as a process has developed significantly in the United Kingdom and the United States of America. The safety of the product becomes one of the most important elements in modern corporate management. The rapid introduction of product liability has recently been a prevalent phenomenon, as global changes arising from rapid development in science and the economy have resulted in a highly interconnected world economy. This thesis was established, based on current literature and business consulting cases in the position of companies, and is one of the operating subjects in a system for legal responsibility in manufactured products.

  • 세계적인 소비자 보호의 추세확산에 따라 선진국은 제조물 책임법을 이미 시행하고 있고, 우리나라는 2002년 7월 시행하게 되었다. 대부분 제조물에 초점을 이루고 있지만 특히, 식품의 경우 많은 소송이 제기될 수 있을 뿐만 아니라 엄청난 피해와 기업의 손실도 막대할 것이다. 따라서 경제력 제고 및 소비자의 안정성 확보를 위한 가이드라인을 제시하고자 한다. 1. 제품정보와 품질안전을 쉽게 이해하기 위한 각종 수단을 강구한다. 2. 모든 PL대응 활동을 문서화하라. 3. 소비자의 피해에 초동 대응하라. 4. 평소에 안전기업 이미지를 구축한다. 5. 품질경영 시스템 수립 및 표준화의 유효한 수단이 ISO9000과 HACCP, PLMS를 시행한다. 6. 협력업체의 PL대응도 지원하라. 7. 업계 공동의 PL대응책을 모색하라.

  • The purpose of this study is to explore the correspondence level to product Liability in the enterprises. The results of this study are to offer basic information for a planned manufacturing system for safety products. Especially important things are build up the foundation of system and abide by it for safety products. The producer and supplier(distributors) of the products should satisfy the increasing consumer safety needs. This survey show us that manufacturing the safety products is important factors for korean enterprise management. But, in the reverse, neglect to take appropriate measures promptly.
