  • Die Factory follows typical order adaptive manufacturing, and delaying delivery affects directly product development of customer, Manufacturing Management System is tried to comply with the appointed date of delivery. It acquires running signal from NC milling, calculates manufacturing results, and offers the basic data to manage the operation ratio. Thus it offers Production data necessary to accomplish the objective of progress improvement for Unmanned Manufacturing. Manufacturing Management System runs on Web Environment, and is composed of electronic work order, operation ratio data acquisition and totaling module.

  • In this paper we present a 3-DOF manipulator of which task is to unload the product from a micro factory. The micro factory developed by KITECH presses sheet metal to produce a micro valve that is used for micro pump. Our research is focused on the development of a small-sized unloading manipulator which works in the narrow workspace between the dies. We have implemented pick-and-place task with vacuum pressure and 3-DOF motion with stepping motors. We present the design procedures and analysis required in each module.

An Interface Module for Dehumidify Dryer in a Injection Molding Smart Factory System

  • When the injection molding system molds some plastic products, defective product rate will be increased if plastic materials have some excessive moisture content. Therefore, it is very important to control the dehumidification and drying of plastic material. Since the moisture content of the plastic material may change from time to time depending on the material and the molding process, it is necessary to observe the change in real time and maintain a constant moisture content. To solve these problems, I proposed a smart factory system model for plastic molding in this paper. In addition, I designed the interface module to be installed in the dehumidifying dryer which is the core of this process. In addition to this, performance tests were conducted to check the effectiveness and the results were verified as valid.

An Autonomous Operational Service System for Machine Vision-based Inspection towards Smart Factory of Manufacturing Multi-wire Harnesses

  • In this study, we propose a technological system designed to provide machine vision-based automatic inspection and autonomous operation services for an entire process related to product inspection in wire harness manufacturing. The smart factory paradigm is a valuable and necessary goal, small companies may encounter steep barriers to entry. Therefore, the best approach is to develop towards this approach gradually in stages starting with the relatively simple improvement to manufacturing processes, such as replacing manual quality assurance stages with machine vision-based inspection. In this study, we consider design issues of a system based on the proposed technology and describe an experimental implementation. In addition, we evaluated the implementation of the proposed technology. The test results show that the adoption of the proposed machine vision-based automatic inspection and operation service system for multi-wire harness production may be considered justified, and the effectiveness of the proposed technology was verified.

VLBI 상관서브시스템의 현장설치 및 시험결과 고찰 (INSTALLATION AND PERFORMANCE VERIFICATION OF VLBI CORRELATION SUBSYSTEM)

  • In this paper, we describe the installation of VLBI Correlation Subsystem (VCS) main product and its performance at the Korea-Japan Correlation Center (KJCC). The VCS main product was installed at KJCC in August 2009. For the overall performance evaluation of VCS, playbacks, Raw VLBI Data Buffer (RVDB) system, and Data Archive (DA) system were installed together. The VCS main product was connected between RVDB and DA, and the correlation results were put into the DA to confirm the normal operation of VCS 16 station mode configuration. The evaluation test was first performed with 4 station mode, same as the factory test of VCS main product. Based on the results of 4 station mode, the same evaluation test was conducted for 16 station mode of VCS. We found that the correlation results of VCS were almost similarly compared to those of the Mitaka FX Correlator. Through the test results, we confirmed that the problems such as spectrum errors, delay parameter processing module and field programmable gate array errors in antenna unit, which were generated at the factory test of VCS main product, were clearly solved. And we verified the performance and connectivity of VCS by obtaining the expected correlation results and we also confirmed that the performance of VCS was sufficient for real VLBI observation data in both 4 and 16 station modes.

  • 전자부품 조립사업은 제품불량이 발생했을 때, 입고된 원자재불량 또는 작업불량을 추적하는 것이 중요하며, 결과에 따라 납품업체 또는 작업현장 개선이 중요하다. 스마트팩토리의 핵심 과제는 데이터 통합허브를 구축하여 저장·관리·분석을 실시간으로 처리하고 클러스터공정, 에너지, 환경, 안전을 통합관리 하는 것이다. 전자부품 관련 중소기업에 생산현장관리를 실시간 모니터링하여 생산데이터의 정확한 분석과 수집으로 신뢰도를 향상시키기 위해서는 스마트팩토리 구축이 필수적이다. 본 논문은 스마트팩토리를 도입하고자 하는 전자 부품관련 중소기업의 특성을 고려해 시스템 구성방법, 스마트팩토리 관련기술 과 적용사례 등을 정의하여 구축에 활용토록 개발되었다.

토치 회전식 자동용접 시스템의 용접공정변수 최적선정 (Optimum-selection in the Welding Process Variable for Torch-rotation Method of Automation Welding-machine System)

  • The purpose of this welding process of the exclusive welding-machine using welding torch-rotation type is to develop a mechanism which can solve the problem of twisting of welding wires and cables. The technique was developed by revising the torch position and smooth controlling of both the normal and reverse rotation. Some of the advantages of using the torch-rotation type apply to the work-rotation technique are the practical uses of increased work space and link work with the factory automation system. Do apply the welding process, I designed and made a special unit so called torch part in order to solve the problems of kinematical. And I made a control panel which can manipulate the progress of the entire process at the work shop. Even if it will be applied to another kind of axle casing's welding work, this process can be utilized if other sizes of the fixed pin and work part is produced and changed. The development of this exclusive welding-machine could reduce the manpower of skilled welding labor and increase productivity and better quality product in comparison to the handmade product.

이산 제조 공정에서의 수율 향상을 위한 분석 프레임워크의 개발에 관한 연구 (A Study on analysis framework development for yield improvement in discrete manufacturing)

  • Purpose It is a major goal to improve the product yields during production operations in the manufacturing industry. Therefore, factory is trying to keep the good quality materials and proper production resources, also find the proper condition of facilities and manufacturing environment for yields improvement. Design/methodology/approach We propose the hybrid framework to analyze to dataset extracted from MES. Those data is about the alarm information generated from equipment, both measurement and equipment process value from production and cycle/pitch time measured from production data these covered products during production. We adapt a data warehousing techniques for organizing dataset, a logistic regression for finding out the significant factors, and a association analysis for drawing the rules which affect the product yields. And then we validate the framework by applying the real data generated from the discrete process in secondary cell battery manufacturing. Findings This paper deals with challenges to apply the full potential of modeling and simulation within CPPS(Cyber-Physical Production System) and Smart Factory implementation. The framework is being applied in one of the most advanced and complex industrial sectors like semiconductor, display, and automotive industry.
