RP시스템을 이용한 원형시제품 제작 시 제품 오차 보정에 관한 연구 (A Study on Correction of CIRCLE Product Error by Prototype using Rapid Prototyping System)

  • RP system which is widely used to reduce the time of product development is to resolve the problem of cutting work. It is a method using laminated thin films to produce many forms. The RP equipment used for this experiment is FDM system. This can produce 3D model with using 3D CAD designed file within a relatively short time. Not only this, this system also through 3D file preparation, 3D product manufacture, removal support these 3 step operating process can easily produce goods, but product can be different from original design. This research has been conducted to minimize this error. To apply to the circular product made a circular specimen and measured several times with 3D scanner and find out average 99.622% of accuracy. This result is applied to RP system, and with this changed design produced a specimen, and found out the accuracy is increased to 99.958%. If this is applied to circular products, we can produce more precise products with less process.

  • Presented in this paper is the development of an product cost estimation system at the product design stage. The efficient cost estimation function at the design stage is essential for the cost reduction activities through the entire product life cycle. For this purpose, it is necessary to establish a systematic working procedure, and to develop information system for managing a great deal of production and product-related data required for the cost estimation. The developed system has the capability of estimating a cost of assembly type products as well as unit-item type products. As proposed system is based on the variant approach, it can be used easily at an early design stage without the need for detail design information. Also, this system is integrated with legacy PDM (Product Data Management) and ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) system for fast. accurate and easy product cost estimation. The estimated cost includes material cost, overhead cost as well as labor cost.

  • It is well blown that the product development time in manufacturing industry is critical. A new methodology for a product design knowledge management is required to reduce design errors and to optimize a design process. In this paper, Process-Related design knowledge management and Document Template are introduced to provide a design process to prevent previous design errors and a solution for the desist errors. Also the Document Template is more convenient interface in integrating the design knowledge into a system.

  • A systematic investigation for the process design in deep drawing is necessary to improve the quality of drawn cups. This study concentrates mainly on the influence of process design strategy on the product quality. Several types of process design were chosen from initial blank of 100mm in diameter to make final cup of 50mm in diameter. Forming analysis are carried out to find out optimal design in terms of drawing force. We assume that the case which shows minimum drawing force in the subsequent operations is the best case. Through experiments it is found that the case which shows minimum drawing force also results in minimum drawing force and better product quality than other case. Thus, it is shown that this design strategy is very effective in the improvement of quality in drawn cups.

  • Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) is an integrated business approach to manage the creation and distribution of product information throughout the product development process. From the product perspective, PLM encompasses a holistic approach to product development and product information management. It supports the integrated product information in conjunction with the efficient product structures and BOM (Bill Of Material), user interfaces, proper functions, design processes and enterprise integration. Therefore, PLM should not only satisfy required functions as an enterprise software but also offer a systematic method for the efficient application from the initial stage of its development. Recently, many shipyards have been considering the PLM as a strategic solution to get the efficient management of product information such as 3-D models, BOM, drawings, documents, and the other product data. Though many studies on PLM are performed, most of them are performed in a function-based approach adequate for mass productive assembly industries. It could not help having limitations on applying the proper PLM system to the shipbuilding business since the requirements of shipbuilding PLM are too diverse and huge to design the architecture. This study presents the PLM framework which effectively reflects the diverse requirements of shipbuilding PLM. In order to get the macroscopic architecture of shipbuilding PLM, authors suggest the four-tier architecture model which considers the various requirements collected from shipyards. Entities of ship design data are modeled BOM in terms of product structure and hierarchical class diagram. Applicable functions of shipbuilding PLM are also investigated by analysis of issues of ship design. Finally, by reflecting the design process of shipbuilding, To-Be ship design procedure cooperated with the suggested PLM framework has been summarized.

  • Mold making and product manufacturing process was made by a die through a number of stages. Thereby, it takes a long period of time from the manufacture of mold until passed the products to consumers. However, it is not possible to meet the diverse desires purchasing of consumer. We made a 3D CAD Model aligned with product scan data using reverse engineering. Utilizing thereafter flow analysis to derive the optimal mold conditions, by applying the condition, and devised a mold fabrication process that is much shorter than the conventional process for fabricating a mold. In this study, the outlet cover to the product, it describes a process, as a result, it was confirmed that the number of steps can be shortened much more than the conventional process.

소셜미디어와 PDM 시스템을 활용한 협업적 제품자료관리 교육 (Education of Collaborative Product Data Management by Using Social Media in a Product Data Management System)

  • This study proposes an approach to Product Data Management (PDM) education for collaborative product data management, which can support collaborative product development process. This approach introduces social media and a PDM system into a framework for PDM education supported by consistent product development process and product data model. It has been applied to two PDM classes and the result shows that the social media in PDM education can support not only experiences of the collaborative product data management but also interactive and informal communications among instructors and participants using integrated social media with product data during courses.

STEP 파일을 이용한 웹기반 설계 및 치수 검증 시스템 (Web-based Design and Dimension Verification System Using STEP Files)

  • Most manufacturing companies are trying to develop a competitive product by increasing the quality, shortening time to market and reducing the cost of a product. Collaborators related to the development of a new product want to confirm geometric forms and dimensions during the design process, as well as to verify dimensional errors of a product during the fabrication process. Objective of this paper is the development of a collaborative design and dimension verification system on the Internet. STEP files obtained from the design process are used for the design and dimension verification. Functions of the design and dimension verification modules are constructed over the ActiveX control using the visual C/sup ++/ and OpenGL. By using mark up functions over the Internet, collaborators check geometries, interferences, dimensional errors, human factors and form errors, as well as share their design ideas and opinions with XML rapidly and remotely. The usefulness of the developed system is confirmed through case studies.

  • 오늘날 디자인 프로세스는 인간이 만든 물건에 변화를 주기 위한 시각적 영역뿐만 아니라 마케팅의 영역까지도 포함하고 있는 광범위한 과정을 말한다. 디자인 프로세스의 요소들은 제품이나 회사의 여건에 따라 다르지만 프로세스의 기본적인 기능은 같다. 디자인 프로세스는 기업과 제품특성에 따라 여러 가지 방법으로 나누어 활용하고 있다. 본 연구는 가전제품을 중심으로 한 기본적 개념에 바탕을 두고 있으면서 실무에서도 효과적으로 활용할 수 있도록 4단계로 구성된 디자인 프로세스를 제안하였다. 첫째로 기획단계(Planning Phase), 두 번째로 기획단계에서 추출된 아이디어를 형상화시키는 아이디어 단계(Idea Development Phase 단계), 세 번째로 아이디어단계에서 결정된 내용을 평면에서 구체적이고 사실적으로 나타내는 표현 및 결정단계(Presentation & Decision Phase), 마지막으로 디자인된 내용을 양산시까지 제안된 디자인대로 되는지를 관리하고 평가 피드 백 하는 관리단계(Check & Control Phase)의 4단계로 이루어진다. 디자인 프로세스 매니지먼트의 전개 방버법으로는 첫째로 디자인 부문을 이념주도형으로 운영하여 기업이념에 맞는 디자인 부문을 이념주도형으로 운영하여 기업이념에 맞는 디자인 정책, 디자인 전략, 상품전략, 기업이미지와 상품의 통일성과 독창성이 표현되도록 하여야 한다. 두 번째로는 전략을 수립하고 기획에서 판매까지의 상품개발 전 과정에 프로덕트관리자(Product director)가 지휘, 통솔하여 디자인 구체화 과정까지 상품체계만이 아닌 기업활동 전반에 관여하여야 한다. 세 번째로 디자이너가 아이디어를 프리젠테이션 할 경우 그림과 모델뿐만 아닌 경영자에게 아이디어의 이해가 쉽도록 새로운 케뮤니케이션을 개발하여야 한다. 마지막으로 디자인 프로세스를 체계적이고 효율성을 높이기 위하여 매니지먼트의 다양한 기술을 도입시켜 디자인 프로세스의 체계를 세워야 한다.

중소형 CIM을 위한 ROPP 정보 모델러 개발 (A Development of ROPP Information Modeler for Mid-Sized CIM)

  • Currently a hot potato in industries is to reduce the lifecycle of product and maximize the time-to-market benefits. A lot of methodologies and the concrete systems are in use for performing this function. One of these systems is that process are reconstructed by BPR and systems are implemented by PDM. First of all, th analyses of existing product, process and resource data must be preceded. New process is established on the basis of the analyzed information of a company and PDM implements the new process in the company. The consecutive activities like this provide the basic environment for CIM. However, the current system have been developed on the favor of a big company. There are many problems in applying it too a mid-sized company. A lot of function in a PDM tool is not necessary for the mid-sized CIM characteristic. The purpose of this study is to define the ROPP information model that is an appropriate information integration for a design process. The model shows an associated complicated information of a company effectively. Also the modeler makes it possible to manage consistently the constraints of design process on the basis of the analysis of dependency among each resource.
