화상처리를 이용한 OLED 디스플레이의 픽셀 불량 검사에 관한 연구 (Defect Inspection of the Pixels in OLED Type Display Device by Image Processing)

  • The image processing methods are widely used in many industrial fields to detect defections in inspection devices. In this study an image processing method was conducted for the detection of abnormal pixels in a OLED(Organic Light Emitting Diode) type panel which is used for small size displays. The display quality of an OLED device is dependent on the pixel formation quality. So, among the so many pixels, to find out the faulty pixels is very important task in manufacturing processing or inspection division. We used a line scanning type BW(Black & White) camera which has very high resolution characteristics to acquire an image of display pixel patterns. And the various faulty cases in pixel abnormal patterns are considered to detect abnormal pixels. From the results of the research, the normal BW pixel image could be restored to its original color pixel.

Significant Factors Affecting the Mode of Rice Processing in Igbemo-Ekiti, Nigeria

  • In Nigeria, Igbemo-Ekiti is synonymous with a popular local rice which, nevertheless, is characterized with contaminations. Efforts of Government through the Agricultural Development Project (ADP) to improve rice quality in the state, have failed to yield the desired results. This study, therefore, reports the peculiar factors influencing the processing of rice in Igbemo-a major local producing town in Ekiti State, Nigeria. 72 respondents were interviewed, which was a census of the rice processors in 21 residential quarters of the town. Using the multiple linear regression models for analysis, the study discovered that; (i) status of the processors, (ii) expenditure on processing (iii) training acquired before commencing work, and (iv) storage facilities are crucial factors impacting rice processing activities in the town. The paper canvasses for policy measures based on research findings.

Oxidative stress impairs the meat quality of broiler by damaging mitochondrial function, affecting calcium metabolism and leading to ferroptosis

  • Objective: This work was conducted to investigate the effects of oxidative stress on meat quality, mitochondrial function, calcium metabolism and ferroptosis of broilers. Methods: In this study, a total of 144 one-day-old male Ross 308 chicks were divided into 3 groups (control group, saline group, and hydrogen peroxide [H2O2] group) with 6 replicates of 8 broilers each. The study lasted for 42 d. The broilers in the saline and H2O2 groups were intraperitoneally injected with 0.75% saline and 10.0% H2O2 on the 16th and 37th day of the experimental period respectively, the injection volumes were 1.0 mL/kg of broiler body weight. On the 42nd day of the experimental period, two chicks were randomly selected from each cage, a total of thirty-six chicks were stunned by electric shock and slaughtered to collect breast muscle samples. Results: The H2O2 exposure reduced pH value, increased drip loss and shear force of breast meat (p<0.05), impaired the ultrastructure and function of mitochondria. The H2O2 exposure damaged the antioxidant system in mitochondria, excessive reactive oxygen species carbonylation modified calcium channels on mitochondria, which impaired the activities of key enzymes on calcium channel, resulted in the increased calcium concentration in cytoplasm and mitochondria (p<0.05). In addition, the H2O2 exposure increased the iron content and lipid peroxidation (p<0.05), which induced ferroptosis. Conclusion: Oxidative stress could impair meat quality by causing mitochondrial dysfunction, resulting in calcium metabolism disorder and ferroptosis.

MSSSIM 및 쿨백-라이블러 발산 기반 의사 율-왜곡 평가 함수와 복수개의 영상처리 필터를 이용한 동영상 전처리 방법 (Image Processing of Pseudo-rate-distortion Function Based on MSSSIM and KL-Divergence, Using Multiple Video Processing Filters for Video Compression)

  • 본 논문에서는 동영상 화질을 최대한 유지하면서 압축 비트량 절감을 효율적으로 이루기 위해 복수개의 영상처리 필터를 영상의 블록에 따라 선택적으로 적용하고, 영상처리 필터의 선택을 위한 MSSSIM(Multi-Scale Structural SIMilarity) 및 쿨백-라이블러 발산(Kullback-Leibler divergence: KL-Divergence) 기반의 영상 처리 평가 함수를 제안한다. 영상압축의 경우, 영상 내 특징에 따라 화질과 비트량 절감의 특성이 다르며, 이에 따라 단일 목적을 가진 영상처리 필터로서는 화질을 유지하면서, 비트량 절감이라는 목적을 동시에 만족 시키기 어렵다. 이에 따라, 주관적 화질을 최대한 유지하면서, 비트량을 절감시키기 위해 주관적 화질 측도로서 MSSSIM를 사용하고 비트 량 측도를 위하여 쿨백-라이블러 발산을 사용함과 동시에 두 가지 척도를 하나의 척도로 결합시키기 위한 방법을 제안한다. 아울러 제안한 측도를 사용하여 서로 다른 특성을 가진 영상처리 필터를 전처리 필터로 사용할 경우, 주관적 화질을 최대한 유지하면서 비트량 절감을 유지할 수 있도록 동영상 압축이 가능함을 확인할 수 있었다.

Differential expression of heat shock protein 90, 70, 60 in chicken muscles postmortem and its relationship with meat quality

  • Objective: The aim of this study was to investigate the expression of heat shock protein (HSP) 90, 70, and 60 in chicken muscles and their possible relationship with quality traits of meat. Methods: The breast muscles from one hundred broiler chickens were analyzed for drip loss and other quality parameters, and the levels of heat shock protein (HSP) 90, 70, and 60 were determined by immunoblots. Results: Based on the data, chicken breast muscles were segregated into low (drip loss${\leq}5%$), intermediate (5%${\geq}9.5$) drip loss groups. The expression of HSP90 and HSP60 were significantly lower in the high drip loss group compared to that in the low and intermediate drip loss group (p<0.05), while HSP70 was equivalent in abundance in all groups (p>0.05). Conclusion: Results of this study suggests that higher levels of HSP90 and HSP60 may be advantageous for maintenance of cell function and reduction of water loss, and they could act as potential indicator for better water holding capacity of meat.

Quality Characteristics of Tteokgalbi with Black Rice Bran and Organic Acid to Substitute Synthetic Caramel Colorant

  • This study aimed to evaluate the quality characteristics of Tteokgalbi with 1% (w/w) black rice bran only (T1), or with black rice bran and one of the following four types of organic acid: ascorbic acid (T2), citric acid (T3), tartaric acid (T4), or maleic acid (T5) as a substitute for caramel colorant. Tteokgalbi with only black rice bran showed the highest (p<0.05) values of moisture content and water holding capacity (WHC), while there were no significant differences in protein content, fat content, ash content, and thiobarbituric acid reactive substance (TBARS) values in treatments and controls (p>0.05). All the treated samples with any one of the four organic acids showed lower pH than controls (p<0.05). The lightness and redness of Tteokgalbi treated with any one of the four organic acids and black rice bran were higher than those of T1. The volatile basic nitrogen (VBN) values of T4 and T5 were higher than those of the other treatments (p<0.05). With regards to sensory characteristics, T1 and T2 showed overall acceptability similar to that of the controls (p>0.05). The results reported in this study show that Tteokgalbi with black rice bran and any one of the four organic acids listed above not only improved quality characteristics in cooking loss, WHC, lipid oxidation but also could successfully replace the synthetic caramel colorant. Overall, the most satisfactory results were obtained by adding black rice bran and ascorbic acid.

  • In general CELP type vocoders provide good speech quality around 4.8kbps. Among them, G.723.1 developed for Internet Phone and videoconferencing includes two vocoders, 5.3kbps ACELP and 6.3kbps MO-MLQ. Since 6.3kbps MP-MLQ requires large amount of computation for fixed codebook search, it is difficult to realize real time processing. In order to improve the problem this paper proposes the new method that reduces the processing time up to about 50% of codebook search time. We first decide the grid bit, then search the codebook. Grid bit is selected by comparison between synthetic speech, which is synthesized with only odd or even pulses of target vector. and DC removed original speech. As a result, we reduced the total processing time of G.723.1 MP-MLQ up to about 26.08%. In objective quality test 11.19㏈ of segSNR was obtained, and in subjective quality test there was almost no speech degradation.
