An Index Structure for Efficient X-Path Processing on S-XML Data (S-XML 데이터의 효율적인 X-Path 처리를 위한 색인 구조)

  • This paper proposes an index structure which is used to process X-Path on S-XML data. There are many previous index structures based on tree structure for X-Path processing. Because of general tree index's top-down query fashion, the unnecessary node traversal makes heavy access and decreases the query processing performance. And both of the two query types for X-Path called single-path query and branching query need to be supported in proposed index structure. This method uses a combination of path summary and the node indexing. First, it manages hashing on hierarchy elements which are presented in tag in S-XML. Second, array blocks named path summary array is created in each node of hashing to store the path information. The X-Path processing finds the tag element using hashing and checks array blocks in each node to determine the path of query's result. Based on this structure, it supports both single-path query and branching path query and improves the X-Path processing performance.

  • We developed a path algorithm for ultrafast/wide area laser processing. Demands for high precision laser processing with a wide area has been increasing for a number of applications such as in solar cell battery, display parts, electronic component and automobile industry. Expansion of the area in which laser processing is an important factor to handle the ultrafast/wide area processing, it will require a processing path. Processing path is path of 2- axis stage and stage of change in velocity can be smooth as possible. In this paper, we proposed a smoothingnurbs method of improved speed profile. This method creates soft path from edge part, it is main purpose that scan area ($50mm{\times}50mm$) inside processing path makes path of topology of possible straight line. We developed a simulation tool using Visual C++.

  • Current electronic products are dominated by the laser processing and the application will be extended this time. Especially, demands for high precision laser processing with a large area has been increasing for a number of applications such as in solar cell battery, display parts, electronic component and automobile industry. In this paper we designed an on-the-fly system for ultrafast/high precision/large area laser processing. In addition, we have developed the path algorithm for large area. Expansion of the area in which laser processing is an important factor to handle the ultrafast/wide area processing, it will require a processing path. Processing path is path of 2- axis stage and stage of change in velocity can be smooth as possible. We proposed a path of the user concept using NURBS(Non-Uniform Rational B-Spline)method. Through our experiment with the chopper, was to prove the continuity of edge parts. Through basic shape experiments, we proved that large area can be processed using laser. We developed a simulation tool using Visual C++.

NURBS Post-processing of Linear Tool Path (미소직선 공구경로의 NURBS 변환)

  • NURBS (Non Uniform Rational B-Spline) is widely used in CAD system and NC data for high speed machining. Conventional CAM system changes NURBS surface to tessellated meshes or Z-map model, and produces linear tool path. The linear tool path is not good for precise machining and high speed machining. In this paper, an algorithm to change linear tool path to NURBS one was studied, and the machining result of NURBS tool path was compared with that of linear tool path. The N-post, post-processing and virtual machining software was developed. The N-Post post-processes linear tool path to NURBS tool path and quickly shades machined product on OpenGL view and compares a machined product with original CAD surface. A virtual machined model of original tool path and post-processed tool path was compared to original CAD model. The machining error of post-processed NURBS tool path was reduced to 43%. The original tool path and NURBS tool path was used to machine general model using same machine tool and machining condition. The machining time of post-processed NURBS tool path was reduced up to 38%.

  • The Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) trends to delegate the certificate path processing to the Delegated Path Discovery (DPD) Server and Delegated Path Validation (DPV) server recently. The most critical factor for the selection of the delegated server is to allow the server to be equipped with a high reliability through a low cost, and simple implementation. In this paper, we propose a new certificate path processing scheme employed the trusted CA as the DPD/DPV server by adding the capability of the Validation Authority (VA) to the trusted CA. Since our proposed scheme uses the existing trusted CA as validation server, we can achieve a high trust through a simple implementation for the processing. Besides, we propose an additional scheme for reducing an overhead on the trusted CA. it is obtained by delegating digital signature verification to CAs on the path and by skipping the repeated path processing. As the result, our proposed validation scheme can be performed efficiently with high speed and low computational overhead.

  • In this paper, we describe study on the development or multi-path ultrasonic gas flowmeter using a transit time method. This system includes 5 pairs of ultrasonic transducers. ultrasonic signal processing unit using switch matrix method, computation algorithm of gas flow rate, spool piece type multi-path pipe unit. We have developed enhanced type of main ultrasonic signal processing unit using switch matrix method fer multi-path ultrasonic gas flowmeter. Also, we have developed the new transmitting & receiving method of ultrasonic waves and the new signal processing algorithm for the computation of ultrasonic transit time from received ultrasonic waves. In this study, we have designed more compact signal processing unit compared with the conventional hardware system of multi-path ultrasonic gas flowmeter. We have confirmed its reliability for multi-path ultrasonic gas flowmeter through the laboratory test using calibration system. In the future. we will perform the field test for the developed system in the POSCO gas line.

  • To discover a certificate path is a very important topic in the PKI with a lot of candidate paths. The certificate path discovery processing is executed via many verifications and as the number of verification times increases, the validity of the discovered path becomes high. The selection of the path with high validity provides high-speed certificate validation by reducing the number of repetition times of path discovery and validation processing. Otherwise, there is a problem that the speed and computation overheads are increased. In this paper, we propose an efficient certificate path discovery algorithm can make high the certificate validity with low overhead.

Mobile Robot Path Finding Using Invariant Landmarks

  • This paper proposes a new path-finding scheme using viewpoint-invariant landmarks. The scheme introduces the concept of landmark detection in images captured with a vision sensor attached to a mobile robot, and provides landmark clues to determine a path. Experiment results show that the scheme efficiently detects landmarks with changes in scenes due to the robot's movement. The scheme accurately detects landmarks and reduces the overall landmark computation cost. The robot moves in the room to capture different images. It can efficiently detect landmarks in the room from different viewpoints of each scene. The outcome of the proposed scheme results in accurate and obstacle-free path estimation.

  • Queries on XML are based on paths in the data graph, which is represented as an edge labeled graph model. All proposed query languages for XML express queries using regular expressions to traverse arbitrary paths in the data graph. A meaningful query usually has several regular path expressions in it, but much of recent research is more concerned with optimizing a single path expression. In this paper, we present an efficient technique to process multiple path expressions in a query. We developed a data structure named as the path identifier(PID) to identify whether two given nodes lie on the fame path in the data graph or not, and utilized the PID for efficient processing of multiple path expressions. We implement our technique and present preliminary performance results.
