비선형 해양파 수치 모사를 위한 고속 재현 기법 (A fast reconstruction technique for nonlinear ocean wave simulation)

  • 최근 컴퓨터 성능 향상과 더불어 대규모 클러스터 서비스가 기존의 산업 및 연구기관뿐만 개인에게도 제공되고 있으며, 막대한 계산 성능을 이용한 공학 설계 활용은 빠르게 증가하고 있다. 이에 조선 해양 산업에서는 많은 계산 비용이 요구되는 전산유체역학 기법을 선박 및 해양구조물 설계에 활용하려는 노력이 증가하고 있다. 선박 및 해양구조물과 같은 부유체는 대양에서 해양파, 조류, 바람과 같은 환경 외란에 노출되어 있으며 이러한 환경 외란은 전산유체역학에서 고정도 모델링이 필요하다. 특히 해양파의 경우 비선형 전산유체역학의 특성상 기존의 선형 중첩법에서 벗어난 비선형 해양파가 고려되어야 한다. 본 연구에서는 이러한 비선형 해양파 수치 모사를 위해 고속 재현 기법을 제안하고 전산유체역학 기법을 활용하여 검증을 수행하였다.

초임계유체 추출에 의한 생강(Zingiber officinale Roscoe) Oleoresin의 항균활성 (Antimicrobial Activity of Ginger(Zingiber officinale Roscoe) Oleoresin by Supercritical Fluid Extraction)

  • 본 연구에서는 에탄올추출과 초임계추출(SFE) 조건에 따른 생강 oleresin(GO) 추출물의 Gram 양성균(Bacillus subtilis, Staphylococcus aureus, Listeria monocytogenes)과 Gram 음성균(Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Escherichia coli)에 대한 항균활성을 살펴보았다. GO 에탄올추출은 추출물의 농도가 증가할수록 clear zone이 비례적으로 증가하였다. 이의 항균성은 Gram 양성균이 Gram 음성균보다 크게 나타났으며, 특히 Listeria monocytogenes에서 항균활성이 크게 나타났다. 생강분말과 에탄올의 추출비율이 1:6인 E-III 처리구가 항균활성이 높았다. GO 에탄올추출물의 항균성은$80^{\circ}C$ 조건에서 처리하는 것이 효과적이었고, 추출시간 (1시간~7시간)은 처리구 간에 큰 차이가 없었다. 초임계추출물에 대한 항균성은 Listeria monocytogenes에서 가장 크게 나타났다. 초임계추출물에서는 100 bar $35^{\circ}C$, 250 bar $35^{\circ}C$, 250 bar $65^{\circ}C$ 조건에서 강한 항균력을 보였다. 그리고 용매추출물의 경우 추출조건에 따라서 항균활성에 큰 차이를 나타내지 않았으나, 초임계추출물의 경우 추출압력 100 bar, 500 bar 처리구와 추출온도 $35^{\circ}C$, $65^{\circ}C$ 처리구에서 항균활성이 크게 나타났다.

  • An experimental modeling is applied to investigate the formation of forms in molten aluminum By using a specially designed equipment, the effect of process variables, such as the shape of stirrer, stirring velocity and fluid viscosity, on the formation of foams were studied in the glycerine added water. Bubbles formed in water had various diameter from 1 to 10 mm and the number of bubbles was 0 to 20/$cm^2$. It turned out that among various variables the stirring velocity and fluid viscosity played important roles on the formation of bubbles. The results obtained from the model experiment were preyed to be convincible also in the real aluminum foam.

Processing of Microcellular Nanocomposite Foams by Using a Supercritical Fluid

  • Polystyrene/layered silicate nanocomposites were prepared by melt intercalation. To examine the distribution of the clay in polymer matrix, small angle X-ray scattering (SAXS) and transmission electron microscopy (TEM) were used. Intercalated nanocomposites were obtained and their rheological properties were investigated. Microcellular nanocomposite foams were produced by using a supercritical fluid. As clay contents increased, the cell size decreased and the cell density increased. It was found that layered silicates could operate as heterogeneous nucleation sites. As the saturation pressure increased and the saturation temperature decreased, the cell size decreased and the cell density increased. Microcellular foams have different morphology depending upon the dispersion state of nanoclays.

  • Shape separation method - a separation process which utilizes the fact that particles of different shape behave differently in force fields- is regarded as an useful measure for recycling, mineral processing, upgrading powdered material and so on. In this study, a trial was given to shape separation method using fluid field to recover pure diatom skeleton - which is thought to have many uses in itself and potential for various applications -from low grade diatomaceous earth of southeastern part of the Korean Peninsula. The striking difference of shape between diatom skeleton and other minerals like clay and quartz made it natural to choose shape separation method. Considering the size of particles to be separated, among many possible methods of shape separation, hydrodynamic field using hydrocyclone was adopted. And it resulted in recovery of pure diatom skeleton with high purity

점성 유체중에 자유낙하 하는 니들과 스프링의 거동에 관한 연구 (STUDY ON THE BEHAVIOR OF NEEDLES AND SPRINGS FALLING FREELY IN A VISCOUS FLUID)

  • We report in this paper the analysis of the motion of a needle and a spring in a viscous fluid under the influence of gravitational force. Lateral shift as well as vertical motion of a needle falling in a viscous fluid has been observed from a simple experiment. We also observed the combined rotation and translation of a falling spring. The trajectory and velocity of the falling needle and the spring were obtained by using an image processing technique. We also conducted numerical simulation for both problems. For the falling-needle problem, we employed a theory; but it turns out that significant correction is required for the solutions to match the numerical and experimental data. For the falling spring problem various theoretical formula were tested for their justification, but none of the existing theories can successfully predict the numerical and experimental results.

다수의 분할된 긴 열선과 짧은 열선을 갖는 새로운 비정상열선법 센서개발 (Development of a New Sensor with Divided Multiple Long and Short Wires in Transient Hot-wire Technique)

  • A fine hot-wire is used both as a heating element and a temperature sensor in transient hot-wire method. The traditional sensor system is unnecessarily big so that it takes large fluid volume to measure the thermal conductivity. To dramatically reduce this fluid volume, a new sensor fabrication and a data processing method are proposed in this article. Contrast to the conventional and most popular two wire sensor, the new sensor system is made up of divided multiple long and short wires. Through validation experiments, it is found that the measured thermal conductivities of the glycerin are exactly same each other between the conventional and proposed new method. Also some technical considerations in arranging the multiple wires are briefly discussed.

나노임프린트 리소그래피 공정에서 Slip에 의한 경계 효과 (Effect of Boundary Slip Phenomena in Nanoimprint Lithography Process)

  • It is widely known that no-slip assumptions are often violated on regular basis in micrometer- or nanometer-scale fluid flow. In the case of cavity-filling process of nanoimprint lithography(NIL), slip phenomena take place naturally at the solid-to-liquid boundaries, that is, at the mold-to-polymer or polymer-to-substrate boundaries. If the slip or partial slip phenomena are promoted at the boundaries, the processing time of NIL, especially of thermal-NIL which consumes more tact time than that of UV-NIL, can be significantly improved. In this paper it is aimed to elucidate how the cavity-filling process of NIL can be influenced by the slip phenomena at boundaries and to what degree those phenomena increase the process rate. To do so, computational fluid dynamics(CFD) analysis of cavity filling process has been carried out. Also, the effect of mold pattern shape and initial thickness of polymer resist were considered in the analysis, as well.

  • In order to obtain monoclonal antibody from ascites fluid at sufficiently high purity using a single hydroxylapatite chromatography (HA) a further optimization on its operating variables was carried out. By adjusting the pH of the eluent, the sodium phosphate buffer, to 6.0 from 6.8 and adding CaCl$_2$to 1 mM at the column inlet, the elution molarities (M$_{elu}$) for the desired monoclonal antibody and contaminating proteins can be distinguished from each other with enough resolution. Previously these two groups of proteins co-eluted at the same time at pH 6.8 and without CaCl$_2$. This sin81e step hydroxylapatite chromatography yields the desired antibody pure enough for diagnostic use.

점탄성유체의 Capillary Breakup 가시화 및 신장유변물성 측정 (Capillary Breakup of Viscoelastic Fluid and its Extensional Rheology)

  • Extensional flow of viscoelastic fluids is widely utilized in various industrial processes such as electrospinning, 3D printing and plastic injection molding. Extensional rheological properties, such as apparent viscosity and relaxation time, play an important role in the design and evaluation of the viscoelastic fluid-involved processes. In this work, we propose a lab-built capillary breakup extensional rheometer (CaBER) based on flow image processing to investigate the capillary breakup of polyethylene oxide (PEO) solution and its extensional rheological properties. We found that the apparent extensional viscosity and extensional relaxation time of the PEO solution are independent of the strike time. The proposed CaBER is expected to be applied to characterization of the extensional rheological properties of viscoelastic fluids at low cost with high precision.
