개인용 컴퓨터 그래픽스를 사용한 로보트 시뮬레이터의 연구 (A Study on Robot Simulator by use of Personal Computer Graphics)

  • Recently, robot plays an important role in factory automation and its use is rapidly increasing. In paticular, modern industry tends to need the robot to adjust itself swiftly to new workcell. But, robot is to be taught of operator through teaching box in order that it can carry out new tasks. In the process, interruption of the production line is frequent and so much time and expense are required. Computer Graphic Simulator(CGS) provides a useful tool to overcome such a problem. In this paper, CGS consists of teaching mode and execution mode. The 5-axis Rhino robot is modelled in IBM-PC/386 compatible 32-bit personal computer with 80387 co-processor and the simulator performs defined operations on the computer screen.

  • Genetic algorithms find the optimal solution by mimicking the evolution of natural organisms. In this study, the genetic algorithm was used to enable Pac-Man's reinforcement learning, and a simulator to observe the evolutionary process was implemented. The purpose of this paper is to reinforce the learning of the Pacman AI of the simulator, and utilize genetic algorithm and artificial neural network as the method. In particular, by building a low-power artificial neural network and applying it to a genetic algorithm, it was intended to increase the possibility of implementation in a low-power embedded system.

RAS: Request Assignment Simulator for Cloud-Based Applications

  • Applications deployed in cloud receive a huge volume of requests from geographically distributed users whose satisfaction with the cloud service is directly proportional to the efficiency with which the requests are handled. Assignment of user requests based on appropriate load balancing principles significantly improves the performance of such cloud-based applications. To study the behavior of such systems, there is a need for simulation tools that will help the designer to set a test bed and evaluate the performance of the system by experimenting with different load balancing principles. In this paper, a novel architecture for cloud called Request Assignment Simulator (RAS) is proposed. It is a customizable, visual tool that simulates the request assignment process based on load balancing principles with a set of parameters that impact resource utilization. This simulator will help to ascertain the best possible resource allocation technique by facilitating the designer to apply and test different load balancing principles for a given scenario.

  • Because of being operated to accomodate the load variation, fossile power plants need modern controller to satisfy frequency regulation, fast response and efficiency requirement. But in the way of developing the Digital Instrumentation and Control System that can adopt advanced control algorithms, power plant simulator must be available for safe and convenient test. In this paper, a simple drum-type boiler model is proposed, using Signal Flow Diagram that describes the system by a collection of basic time response representing the relationship between process variables. After verifying the model and thereafter building simulator based on the proposed model, we test the operation of controller and approve stability or efficiency of implemented control algorithms.

  • TCU is a shift controller far automatic transmission of which major functions are to determine the shift point and manage the shifting process based on the various input signals. As the recent digital control technologies advance, it plays a key-role to improve a transmission performance and its algorithm becomes more complicated. This paper describes the development of transmission simulator fur wheel loader that enables a TCU for normal stand-alone operation by the real-time emulation of TCU interface signals. It can be utilized for the analysis of shift control algorithm implemented in a commercial TCU as well as for the development of brand new TCU.

  • Several simulation techniques have been developed which are not practical deformation processes but are designed to embody specific tribological aspects. Sliding rolling type friction test machine (Cold rolling tribosimulator) was developed to simulate the tribological phenomena at the roll bite in real mill by laboratory scale. A rolled material is fed at a low speed of Max. 1/20 to that of roll speed, so as to obtain simultaneous plastic deformation in the material during rotation of the rolls in simulator. New cold rolling tribe-simulator is effective for evaluation of the lubricity of lubricant in cold rolling process.

  • Three-dimensional simulator for the ion implantation process is developed. The simulator based on an analytical model which would be a choice with high computational efficiency and accuracy. This is an important issue for the simulation of a numerous number of processing steps required in the fabrication of ULSI or GSI. The model can explain scattering and bulk channeling mechanism (1D). It can also explain depth dependent lateral diffusion effect(2D) and mask effect(3D). The model is consist of one-dimensional JPD(Joined Pearson Distribution) function and two-dimensional modified Gaussian functions. Final implanted profiles under typical mask structures such as hole, line and island structure are obtained with varying ion species.

  • The main purpose of this paper is cost reduction in absurd pilot positive expense and human accident prevention which is caused by in the pilot selection process. We use classification models such as logistic regression, decision tree, and neural network based on aptitude test results of 505 ROK Air Force applicants in 2001~2004. First, we determine the reliability and propriety against the aptitude test system which has been improved. Based on this conference flight simulator test item was compared to the new aptitude test item in order to make additional yes or no decision from different models in terms of classification accuracy, ROC and Response Threshold side. Decision tree was selected as the most efficient for each sequential flight training result and the last flight training results predict excellent. Therefore, we propose that the standard of pilot selection be adopted by the decision tree and it presents in the aptitude test item which is new a conference flight simulator test.

  • The Grand-Touring is a game motion simulator that simulates the race-car driving motion with three hydraulic cylinders which connect the platform and base in parallel. Its motion control system consists of the PC-based main controller and micro-controller based sub-controller. The former one process the dynamic image of race-car in response to the driver's action and computes the reference command for each cylinder and the latter one is designed for the tracking control of hydraulic cylinder and interfacing the auxiliary signals between various sensors/actuator and main controller. In this research, we developed the sub-controller that implements the required functions of Grand-Touring and prove the overall performance with experiments.

  • The DSP silicon compiler consists of language compiler, module generator, placement tool, router, layout generation tools, and simulator. In this paper, The language compiler, the module generator, placement tool, and simulator were developed and provided for the system designer. The language compiler translates the designer's system description language into the intermediate form file. The intermediate form file expresses the interconnections and specifications of the cells in the cell library. The simulator was developed and provided for the behavioral verification of the DSP system. For its implementation, the event-driven technique and the C$^{++}$ task library was used. The module generator was developed for the layout of the verified DSP system, and generates the functional block to be used in the DSP chip. And then the placement tool determines the appropriate positions of the cells in the DSP chip. In this paper, the placement tool was implemented by Min-Cut and Simulated Annealing algorithm. The placement process can be controlled by the several conditions input by the system designer.
