  • Recently, a variety of uses for combined reinforced concrete and steel have been applied in actual construction, which are called hybrid structures. The purpose of the hybrid construction is the high-efficiency of structural behaviors. But the design method of SRC is relatively complicated design method. So, it hasn't detailed design method yet and we are depending upon foreign specifications. In this study, To develop the design method of SRC at the condition of composite behaviors, makes process about major factors that affects the composite behaviors. And we suggested fundamental data of the composite behaviors by experiments.

  • This paper describer a design expert system which determines the design values of shadow mask using Case-Based Reasoning. In Case-Based Reasoning, it is important to both retrieve similar cases and adapt the cases to meet the design specifications exactly. Especially, the difficulty in automating the adaptation process will prevent the designers from using the design expert systems efficiently and easily. This paper explains knowledge-based design support systems for shadow mask through neural network-based case adaptation. Specifically, we developed 1) representing design knowledge and 2) adaptive case-based reasoning method using RBFN (Radial Basis Function Network).

Graceful Degradation FEC Layer for Multimedia Broadcast/Multicast Service in LTE Mobile Systems

  • This paper proposes an additional forward error correction (FEC) layer to compensate for the defectiveness inherent in the conventional FEC layer in the Long Term Evolution specifications. The proposed additional layer is called a graceful degradation (GD)-FEC layer and maintains desirable service quality even under burst data loss conditions of a few seconds. This paper also proposes a non-delayed decoding (NDD)-GD-FEC layer that is inherent in the decoding process. Computer simulations and device-based tests show a better loss recovery performance with a negligible increase in CPU utilization and occupied memory size.

  • In this paper, we review the domestic reliability standards and its global counterparts IEC/TC 56 international reliability standards. Recently private transfers of reliability certification control tower has established in Korea. Some check points to consider regarding the control tower transfer process to the non-government organization are suggested. Also the IEC/TC 56 and its relevant reliability standards are introduced. Understanding of the IEC/TC56 system will be helpful for the time of non-government organization control tower transfer in the reliability certificate specification

  • This Paper, first, tries to optimize the output specifications with uncertain characteristics. And then aims to solve the problem not only by making use of transformed multiple regression equation which can yield objective function of output characteristics but also by formulating developed multiple fuzzy goal programming using fuzzy set theory which can treat uncertainty easily, and the efficiency of these techniques, will be also demonstrated through a case study.

  • Design and manufacturing (or production) must be closely interrelated. They should never be viewed as separate disciplines or activities. Each part or component of a product must be designed so that it not only meets design requirements and specifications, but also can be manufactured and assembled economically, ecologically and with relative ease. This approach improves productivity and allows a manufacturer to remain competitive. This broad view has become recognized as the area of design for manufacture and assembly(DFMA). Here the principles of the DFMA and their some examples are reviewed.

  • A design of scanning electrode driving IC chip has been implemented aiming at the application to liquid crystal color television displays. The chip reflects the design characteristics of high quality liquid crystal panels and satisfies specifications of NTSC type color television displays. The design was verified using logic and circuit simulation, and fabricated using a high voltage CMOS process. A fully working die has been obtained that can be readily applicable to commercial color liquid crystal panels.

  • This paper describes how using the XPS Document technologies of Windows Vista support and enhances interactions with the structural design and construction process. It illustrates the document workflows and the document life cycle in a typical construction base knowledge system. It provides engineers and decision makers and implementers with information about this new technology and how they can apply it to their design and construction models. The paper also highlights opportunities for the new format of data exchange in the recent efforts to develop National Management System Standards for Transportation Applications to benefit from these emerging technologies.

Optimal Solution of Classification (Prediction) Problem

  • Classification or prediction problem is how to solve it using a specific feature to obtain the predicted class. A wheat seeds specifications 4 3 classes of seeds will be used in a prediction process. A multi linear regression will be built, and a prediction error ratio will be calculated. To enhance the prediction ratio an ANN model will be built and trained. The obtained results will be examined to show how to make a prediction tool capable to compute a predicted class number very close to the target class number.
