  • It is essential to perform the software process improvement activities to reinforce the software quality. Some companies are trying to improve the software process capability by establishing and implementing the software process improvement strategies voluntarily. But, the whole software industry is not active yet in terms of software process improvement. In this paper, we surveyed 'Software Process Capability Level' of software companies, analyzed the strength and weakness of the companies and provided with systematic approaches to improve Software Process capability. So, this paper contributes that software companies vigorously focus on the Software Process Improvement and eventually have the global competitiveness in terms of software quality.

  • Milking parlor wastewater contains high concentration suspended solid (SS), nitrogen, and/or phosphate as well as organic compounds. A new biological wastewater process by magnetic separation, magnetic activated sludge (MAS) process, was applied to milking parlor wastewater treatment process. A three step wastewater treatment process of coagulation sedimentation / ammonia stripping (C/S), magnetic activated sludge process and contact oxidation (CO) was proposed for removal of these pollutants. First step, C/S process recovered 96% TN and 96% PO43--P as resource for fertilizer from the wastewater. 81% biochemical oxygen demand (BOD) in wastewater was removed after MAS process. As a results, all pollutant concentrations satisfied Japanese effluent standards. Most of residual BOD and SS were removed by the CO process. It was estimated that the proposed process could reduce the process space to 1/7.

  • In this paper, it is investigated the properties of the transformed geometric Poisson process when the intensity function of the process is a distribution of the continuous random variable. If the intensity function of the transformed geometric Poisson process is a Pareto distribution then the transformed geometric Poisson process is a strongly P-process.

  • In order to provide a manufacturing system with efficiency and flexibility to cope with the changes in shop floor status, the integration of process planning and operations scheduling is required. In this paper, an integrated system of process planning and operations scheduling based on the concept of process net model and genetic algorithm is suggested. The process net model includes the alternative process plans. The integrated system is applied for prismatic parts.

  • A process mining is considered to support the discovery of business process for unstructured process model, and a process mining algorithm by using the associated rule and sequence pattern of data mining is developed to extract information about processes from event-log, and to discover process of alternative, concurrent and hidden activities. Some numerical examples are presented to show the effectiveness and efficiency of the algorithm.

  • The aim of this study was to evaluate on the removal effect of total nitrogen and phosphorus with municipal wastewater in ultrasonic nutrient removal (UNR) process using ultrasonic sludge carbon source. The removal efficiency for total nitrogen was 44.2% at biological nutrient removal (BNR) process, 50.8% at UNR process. The removal efficiency for total phosphorus was 45.6% at BNR process, 46.2% at UNR process. The removal of nitrogen was effectively influenced by ultrasonic sludge carbon source.

  • MF membrane element was specially designed for water purification and VSA process which can solve the fouling problem. Especially VSA process is developed for the SK Chemical's asymmetric microfiltration hollow fiber membranes. In case of outside-to-in filtration process, MF membrane element showed the excellent flux stability caused by cleaning ability of VSA process. Simultaneous back- washing with VSA considerably enhances cleaning efficiency. Form the result, the possibility of the replacement of chemical coagulation and sand filtration process with newly developed VSA process was revealed.

  • The statistical process control charts are very extensively used for monitoring of process mean, deviation, defect rate or reject rate. In this paper we consider a control chart to monitor the process reject rate in the high yield process, which is based on the observed cumulative probability of the number of items inspected until r defective items are observed. We first propose selection of the optimal value of r in the CPC-r charts, and also consider the usefulness of the chart in high yield process such as semiconductor or TFT-LCD manufacturing process.
