We measured subsidences occurred in a coastal reclaimed land, Noksan industrial complex, from May 2, 1996 to February 21, 1998, using 5 interferograms of JERS-1 L-band SAR. SAR with a spatial resolution of about 16 m can detect the two-dimensional distribution of subsidence that is difficult to be estimated from in situ measurements. Accuracy of the subsidences estimated by 2-pass DInSAR was evaluated using the measurements of Magnetic Probe Extensometer (accuracy of :${\pm}$1 mm) installed at 42 stations. DInSAR measurements were well correlated with the field measurements showing an average correlation coefficient of 0.77. The correlation coefficient was further improved to be 0.87 (with RMSE of 1.44 cm) when only highly coherenced (>0.5) pixels were used. The slope of regression line was 1.04, very close to the unit value. In short, DInSAR measurements have a good linear relation with field measurements so that we can effectively detect a subsidence in the coastal reclaimed area especially using pixels of high coherence (>0.5). The maximum accumulated subsidence was about 60 cm in the study area, while the subsidence in the northern and south western areas were less than 20 cm. The resuts show that DInSAR is extremely useful for geotechnical applications as well as observation of natural deformation.
A measurement unit and signal processing algorithm have been developed for predicting arterial oxygen saturation noninvasively. The measurement set-up was composed of a probe including light source and photodetector, optical signal processing section, LED driving circuit, PC interface software for data acquisition and data processing software. Light from the LED's was irradiated onto the finger nail bed and transmitted light was measured at different wavelengths. An effective baseline correction method was developed and measured data were analyzed by using various data processing methods and prediction algOlithms. For performance evaluation, a pulse oximeter simulator (Bio- Tek Instrument Inc.) was used as reference. The best performance in terms of the correlation coefficient and the standard deviation was obtained under the following conditions; when the arterial signals were computed in terms of area rather than peak-valley difference, and when the algorithm calculating by $In(I_p/I_v)/I_{avr}$ value for pulsation waveform was used. In in vivo test, prediction was improved when the developed baseline correction method was used. In addition, wavelengths of 660 nm and 940 nm provided better linearity and precision than wavelengths of 660 nm and 805 nm. 05 nm.
In this study, the effect of rock mass curtain grouting was investigated by analyzing the correlation between the parameters of the RMR & grout injection volume, Lugeon value & RQD, Lugeon value & cement injection volume. In order to investigate the effect of rock mass curtain grouting, we analyzed the grout injection volume of 315 curtain grouting holes at 9 tunnel face of NATM Subsea tunnels in gneiss area. The total grout injection volume in the Subsea tunnels study was slightly changed in some tunnels face but decreased with increasing the rating of parameters in spacing of discontinuity (R3, Js) and groundwater condition (R5). The geological anomalies of seismic survey (3D, TSP) and the inflow of probe hole were found to be more correlated of relative than the parameters of RMR. The unit injection volume was found to decrease with higher ratings in the parameters of the RMR except the weathering degree of the discontinuity (Jc, R4). The correlation between RQD and Lugeon values is not significant, but it can be confirmed that the Lugeon value tends to decrease as the RQD value increases.
Cervical cancer is the most important female gynecological cancer, the second leading cause of cancer mortality in women worldwide and the second most common cancer in Thai women. The major cause of cervical cancer is persistent infection of human papillomavirus (HPV), leading to abnormal epithelial lesions, with progression to precancerous and invasive cancer. This study was conducted to investigate the frequency and type distribution of HPV in Thai women who had abnormal cytology. HPV detection from FFPE confirmed abnormal of high grade cervical intraepithelial lesions were for SPF-10-Innogenic Line Probe Assay. HPV-positivity was detected in 320/355 cases (90.14%) and HPV-negativity in 35/355 (9.86%). HPV-positive was found 147/320 cases (41.4%) of single infection, whereas 173/320 cases (48.7%) showed the multiple HPV infection. The most common seven types were HPV-16, -52, -18, -11, -51, -31 and -33, in that order. HPV 16 and 18, the important oncogenic HPV type, were observed in 64.8% of HSIL cases. Interestingly, a high proportion of multiple infections was found in this study and more than ten types could be detected in one case. Therefore, HPV infection screening program in women is essential, particularly in Thailand. Effective primary and secondary prevention campaigns that reinforce HPV screening for HPV detection and typing may be decrease the incidence and mortality of cervical cancer in the future and may lead to significantly improve the quality of life in Thai women.
In order to simulate the crack connection between cords and the interply crack growth in the belt-layer of real tire, 2 ply rubber/cord laminate specimens with exposed edges were tested in 4~11mm displacement control. Measurement of the crack connection is evaluated when crack reaches the half of the length between 45$^{\circ}$ aligned cords, and the amount of the crack growth is measured by the steel probe method. 2 dimensional analytic modeling was performed to simulate the crack connection between cords at the exposed edges. Also, the theoretical life of the specimens was calculated from the crack connection life between cords(critical value) and from the critical value to the final failure by the use of Tearing energy(T); the strain energy release per unit area of one fracture surface of a crack. Then, theoretical life was compared with those of experiments. The life prediction up to the critical value has about 20% error compared to experimental life, and up to the final failure about 65% error. Therefore, total theoretical life has about 45% error compared to the experimental life, which is conceivable in the case of rubber.
In the present study, we developed a nuclear stethoscope interfaced with a personal computer (APPLE- II) and evaluated it's performances as compared with the gamma camera. This single-probe, ECG-gated system has been used for displaying the left ventricular time-activity curves, the peak ejection time and its rate, the peak filling time and its rate, and the R-R interval distribution. The radioactivity was measured at every 10msec around the ventricular region, where the activity curves shows the maximal peak to peak variations. The background activity was measured around the lung area showing its counts approximately 50% of the end-diastolic count with minimal variations. The average time-activity curves of 100 beats were used for analysis in the equilibrium study after intravenous injection of 15-20mCi of Tc. The ejection fractions measured by the nuclear stethoscope(Y) were compared with those measured by gamma camera(X) in 47 patients with various heart diseases. The correlation coefficient between two measurements was 0.766 with a relation of Y=1.04 x-8.48. Also, the high reproducibility was obtained for the same patient. Also, the high reproducibility was obtained for the same patient. From this study, we conclude that this device is useful for continuous monitoring in the intensive care unit, as it is portable, compact, and inexpensive.

The anatomic structure around interproximal area plays an important role not only in the natural teeth, but also in the implant. The loss of papilla can lead to cosmetic deformity, phonetic problem, food impaction on the anterior dentition, and masticatory problem, food impaction and proximal caries on the posterior dentition. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the relationship between interdental papilla existence and distance from contact point to alveolar crest in Korean posteior dentition. 45 Korean adult patients(31males, 14 females) participated in this study. Measurements were carreid out total 126 interproximal areas, 18 first premolar, 31 second premolar, 40 first molar, and 37 second molar areas. Papilla index was recorded as suggested by Jemt. Distance between contact point and alveolar crest measrued by Florida $probe^{R}$, after flap elevation. Each distance was measured 10 times by every 0.1mm unit. The results showed that the mean Papilla index 1.37 and mean distance between contact point and alveolar crest was 7.44mm. The correlation between the Papilla index and distance was high negative correlation(Pearson correlation=-0.47), and it was statistically significant(P=0.000) When the distance between contact point and alveolar crest was 5mm, the loss of papilla was appeared almost in half cases. When the distance was 6mm, the papilla loss was present 95%, when 7mm, the papilla loss was 100%.

This study was conducted to obtain the transgenic Brnssica napus plants with tobacco Apase gene using the binary vector system of Agrobacteriurn fumefociens. The results obtained were summarized as follows: A repressible acid phosphatase gene of Saccharon~yces cerevisiae, pho105 was used for screening of tobacco Apase cDNA. In order to identify Apase gene in tobacco genome, Southern blot analysis was pcrformed and the Apase gcnc may be present as a single copy, or at most two or three copies, in tobacco genome. To isolate the tobacco Apase gene, tobacco cDNA library was constructed using purifed mRNA from -Pi treated tobacco root and the plaque forming unit of the library was 2.8 x $10^5$ pfu/m${\ell}$, therefore the library might cover all expressed mRNAs. Using pho5 as a probe. tobacco Apase cDNA was cloned, and restriction mapping and Southern blot analysis of cDNA insert were revealed that the 3.6 kb cDNA contained tobacco acid phosphatase cDNA. Plasmid pGA695 -tcAPl was constructed by subcloning tobacco Apase cDNA into the Hind site of pGA695 with 35s promoter which can be expressed constitutively in plants. The Brassica napus cotyledonary petioles were cocultivated with the ,4 grobacteriunz and transferred to the selection medium. The transformed and regenerated plants were transplanted to soil medium. Southern blot analysis was done on the transformed plants, and it was confirmed that a foregin gene was stably integrated into the genonies of B. nnpus plants.
The effects of light and $CO_2$ on the electrophysiological characteristics of guard cells in the intact leaf and isolated epidermis have been investigated. Fast hyperpolarization of guard cell apoplastic PD in the intact leaf was recorded reaching up to around 7 mV and 20 mV in response to light and $CO_2$. Whenever the experiments were attempted with isolated epidermis, there was no response to light and $CO_2$. In order to determine the influence of the mesophyll cells, the apoplastic PD of guard cells in isolated epidermis was measured in the presence of the mesophyll supernatant or the control medium. The apoplastic PD in isolated epidermis was hyperpolarized to -7mV, changing from -22mV to -29mV at 40 min. But, when isolated epidermis was incubated with the supernatant from mesophyll cells incubated in the light, the apoplastic PD in isolated epidermis was hyperpolarized to -19 mV, changing from -22 mV to -40.5 mV. $CO_2$ also caused a change of 0.1 to 0.3 pH unit in the intact leaf. However, this change was absent in isolated epidermis. A vibrating probe was used to detect the change in electrical currents at the surface of excised intact leaves and isolated epidermis. The reading of excised intact leaves in the dark was $0.5\muA\;cm^{-2},$ remaining steady until illuminated. Light increased the current on the surface of excised leaves to about $0.8\muA\;cm^{-2},$. However, light had no effect in the current on the surface of isolated epidermis. Apoplastic pH changes across the stomatal complex in response to light and dark were measured both in the intact leaves and isolated epidermis over the same time period using pH micro-electrodes. The guard cell wall of intact leaf was acidified to 2.5 pH unit, falling from pH 7.5 to pH 5.0 in the first 10 min. in the light. At the same time the guard cell wall pH of isolated epidermis fell from pH 7.5 to pH 7.0 at 10 min. The guard cell wall pH of isolated epidermis incubated in the mesophyll supernatant fell from pH 7.6 to pH 6.7 at 10 min. Likewise, It could be imagined that an electrical signal, chemicals and hormones propagated from the mesophyll in response to light and $CO_2$ could control a fast stomatal response.

This paper describes about non-burial AVI (Automatic Vehicle Identification) system using general vehicle as probe car for obtaining more accurate traffic information while conserving road pavement surface. Existing spot traffic detectors have their own limits of not obtaining right information owing to its mathematical method. Burial AVI systems have some defects, causing traffic jam, needing much maintenance cost because of frequent cutting of loop and piezo-electric sensors. Especially, they have hard time to make right detection, when it comes to jamming time. Therefore, in this paper, we propose non-burial AVI system with laser trigger unit. Proposed non-burial AVI system is developed to obtain regional traffic information from normal Passing vehicle by automatic license number recognition technology. We have adapted it to national highway section between Suwon city and Pyong$\~$Taek city(9.5km) and get affirmative results. Vehicle detection rate of laser trigger unit is more than 95$\%$, vehicle recognition rate is 87.8$\%$ and vehicle matching rate is about 14.3$\%$. So we regard these as satisfying results to use the system for traffic information service. We evaluate proposed AVI system by regulation of some institutions which are using similar AVI system and the proposed system satisfies all conditions. For future study, we have plan of detailed research about proper lane number from all of the target lanes, optimal section length, information service period, and data fusion method for existing spot detector.
