  • The Location Based Services (LBS) comprise spatial information and mobile technology allow users to receive various services based on Global Positioning Systems (GPS). Although, spatial information based services are very useful, it has lots of possibility to damage privacy protection. But the contents of the legislation by government have problems conflicted between protection of a person's location information and invigoration LBS. Therefore, in this study suggest a causal model to deal with user satisfaction and factors affecting spatial information based services to customer perspective. The proposed research model is tested empirically with one hundred and forty one usable questionnaires and partial least square (PLS) method. Experimental results showed that the usefulness, playfulness, and service quality play a prominent role in influencing the spatial information services satisfaction compared to other factors. But, easy of use and perceived risk are not significant.

  • In the age of IoT, in which everything is connected to a network, there have been increases in the amount of data traffic, latency, and the risk of personal privacy breaches that conventional cloud computing technology cannot cope with. The idea of edge computing has emerged as a solution to these issues, and furthermore, the concept of ultra-low power edge intelligent semiconductors in which the IoT device itself performs intelligent decisions and processes data has been established. The key elements of this function are an intelligent semiconductor based on artificial intelligence, connectivity for the efficient connection of neurons and synapses, and a large-scale spiking neural network simulation framework for the performance prediction of a neural network. This paper covers the current trends in ultra-low power edge intelligent semiconductors including issues regarding their technology and application.

  • This study wanted to find out what college students thought about family participated delivery and what concerns they had. To this end, eight college students aged 20 to 25 were interviewed three times. The data collection period was from March 20 to April 10, 2021. Interview materials were collected and interpreted simultaneously using the Giorgi method, a phenomenological research method. As a result of the analysis, 29 semantic units were derived, 12 subcomponents were grouped again, and five categories were formed as final components. The five categories of thoughts on the participated delivery of college students consisted of Responsibility, Happiness, Stability, Shame, and Anxiety. Based on the above meaning, college students were found to be comfortable with their families and to be more comfortable with birth happiness, while also feeling the risk of infection and shame as women. Accordingly, this study suggests that when participating in the delivery of family participation of college students who will be future parents, a systematic protocol will be established to thoroughly prepare for infection and protect women's privacy.

  • Currently, many of schemes for smart grid data aggregation are based on a one-level gateway (GW) topology. Since the data aggregation granularity in this topology is too single, the control center (CC) is unable to obtain more fine-grained data aggregation results for better monitoring smart grid. To improve this issue, Shen et al. propose an efficient privacy-preserving cube-data aggregation scheme in which the system model consists of two-level GW. However, a risk exists in their scheme that attacker could forge the signature by using leaked signing keys. In this paper, we propose a secure and fine-grained electricity consumption aggregation scheme for smart grid, which employs the homomorphic encryption to implement privacy-preserving aggregation of users' electricity consumption in the two-level GW smart grid. In our scheme, CC can achieve a flexible electricity regulation by obtaining data aggregation results of various granularities. In addition, our scheme uses the forward-secure signature with backward-secure detection (FSBD) technique to ensure the forward-backward secrecy of the signing keys. Security analysis and experimental results demonstrate that the proposed scheme can achieve forward-backward security of user's electricity consumption signature. Compared with related schemes, our scheme is more secure and efficient.

  • In Internet of Things (IoT) environments, devices or sensors everywhere can automatically collect data without the individual awareness, further combine and share data using ubiquitous network, and thus the development of IoT raises new challenges in respect of personal data protection and privacy. This study aims to identify main issues related to data protection in the IoT and propose adequate measures. We analyzed the types of personal data controllers and processors in IoT and figured out the issues regarding the processing of personal data and the rights to privacy of data subject. Accordingly, we suggested the institutional ways (e.g., establishment of user-friendly notice and flexible consent system, re-identification risk monitoring system, data protection in cross-border transfer, and user education) to improve the situation of personal data protection in IoT and finally proposed the improvement tasks to carry out first based on the degree of urgency and importance.

  • In recent years, the rapid increases in video distribution and viewing over the Internet have increased the risk of personal information exposure. In this paper, a method is proposed to robustly identify areas in images where a person's privacy is compromised and simultaneously blocking the object area by blurring it while rapidly tracking it using a prediction algorithm. With this method, the target object area is accurately identified using artificial neural network-based learning. The detected object area is then tracked using a location prediction algorithm and is continuously blocked by blurring it. Experimental results show that the proposed method effectively blocks private areas in images by blurring them, while at the same time tracking the target objects about 2.5% more accurately than another existing method. The proposed blocking method is expected to be useful in many applications, such as protection of personal information, video security, object tracking, etc.

  • E-commerce has been developing rapidly by enabling companies to sell their products or services online. However, adoption of an e-commerce website still faces lots of problems, such as changing consumer behaviors from purchasing in physical stores to purchasing online, privacy and risk, and so on. The purpose of this study is to analyze the influence of consumers' attitude on actual purchasing behavior based on the degree of product information. In this study, we designed two kinds of product web pages which show different degrees of product information. The first web page has adequate product information, and the second one has much less product information than the first one. We found that according to degree of product information, there is a difference among perceived usefulness, privacy, attitude and actual behavior. And we also reveal weight difference between the two kinds of webpages. Finally, we indicated that variables have impact effect on both mutual relations and preceding relationships.

  • In this paper, we consider a system where multiple sources are encrypted in separated nodes and sent through their respective public communication channels into a joint sink node. We are interested at the problem on protecting the security of an already existing system such above, which is found out to have correlated encryption keys. In particular, we focus on finding a solution without introducing additional secret keys and with minimal modification to minimize the cost and the risk of bringing down an already running system. We propose a solution under a security model where an eavesdropper obtains all ciphertexts, i.e., encrypted sources, by accessing available public communication channels. Our main technique is to use encoders of universal function to encode the ciphertexts before sending them to public communication channels.

  • Recently, the processing and utilization of big data, which is generated by the spread of smartphone, SNS, and the internet of things, is emerging as a new growth engine of ICT field. However, in order to utilize such big data, De-identification of personal information should be done. De-identification removes identifying information from a data set so that individual data cannot be linked with specific individuals. De-identification can reduce the privacy risk associated with collecting, processing, archiving, distributing or publishing information, thus it attempts to balance the contradictory goals of using and sharing personal information while protecting privacy. De-identified information has also been re-identified and has been controversial for the protection of personal information, but the number of instances where personal information such as big data is de-identified and processed is increasing. In addition, many de-identification guidelines have been introduced and a method for de-identification of personal information has been proposed. Therefore, in this study, we describe the big data de-identification process and follow-up management, and then compare and analyze de-identification methods. Finally we provide personal information protection issues and solutions.
