Recently, there have been many research efforts on privacy-preserving data mining. In privacy-preserving data mining, accuracy preservation of mining results is as important as privacy preservation. Random perturbation privacy-preserving data mining technique is known to well preserve privacy. However, it has a problem that it destroys distance orders among time-series. In this paper, we propose a notion of the noise averaging effect of piecewise aggregate approximation(PAA), which can be preserved the clustering accuracy as high as possible in time-series data clustering. Based on the noise averaging effect, we define the PAA distance in computing distance. And, we show that our PAA distance can alleviate the problem of destroying distance orders in random perturbing time series.

Most of existing privacy-preserving multi-authorities attribute-based encryption schemes (PP-MA-ABE) only considers the privacy of the user identity (ID). However, in many occasions information leakage is caused by the disclosing of his/her some sensitive attributes. In this paper, we propose a collusion-resisting ciphertext-policy PP-MA-ABE (CRPP-MACP-ABE) scheme with hiding both user's ID and attributes in the cloud storage system. We present a method to depict anonymous users and introduce a managerial role denoted by IDM for the management of user's anonymous identity certificate ($AID_{Cred}$). The scheme uses $AID_{Cred}$ to realize privacy-preserving of the user, namely, by verifying which attribute authorities (AAs) obtain the blinded public attribute keys, pseudonyms involved in the $AID_{Cred}$ and then distributes corresponding private keys for the user. We use different pseudonyms of the user to resist the collusion attack launched by viciousAAs. In addition, we utilize IDM to cooperate with multiple authorities in producing consistent private key for the user to avoid the collusion attack launched by vicious users. The proposed CRPP-MACP-ABE scheme is proved secure. Some computation and communication costs in our scheme are finished in preparation phase (i.e. user registration). Compared with the existing schemes, our scheme is more efficient.
Due to advances in DNA sequencing technologies, its medical value continues to grow. However, once genome data leaked, it cannot be revoked, and disclosure of personal genome information impacts a large group of individuals. Therefore, secure techniques for managing genomic big data should be developed. We first propose a privacy-preserving inner product protocol for large data sets using the homomorphic encryption of Gentry et al., and then we introduce an efficient privacy-preserving DNA matching protocol based on the proposed protocol. Our efficient protocol satisfies the requirements of correctness, confidentiality, and privacy.

Machine-learning systems have proven their worth in various industries, including healthcare and banking, by assisting in the extraction of valuable inferences. Information in these crucial sectors is traditionally stored in databases distributed across multiple environments, making accessing and extracting data from them a tough job. To this issue, we must add that these data sources contain sensitive information, implying that the data cannot be shared outside of the head. Using cryptographic techniques, Privacy-Preserving Machine Learning (PPML) helps solve this challenge, enabling information discovery while maintaining data privacy. In this paper, we talk about how to keep your data mining private. Because Data mining has a wide variety of uses, including business intelligence, medical diagnostic systems, image processing, web search, and scientific discoveries, and we discuss privacy-preserving in deep learning because deep learning (DL) exhibits exceptional exactitude in picture detection, Speech recognition, and natural language processing recognition as when compared to other fields of machine learning so that it detects the existence of any error that may occur to the data or access to systems and add data by unauthorized persons.

This paper proposes a privacy-preserving aggregation scheme based on the designed P-Gene (PAPG) for sensor networks. The P-Gene is constructed using the designed erasable data-hiding technique. In this P-Gene, each sensory data item may be hidden by the collecting sensor node, thereby protecting the privacy of this data item. Thereafter, the hidden data can be directly reported to the cluster head that aggregates the data. The aggregation result can then be recovered from the hidden data in the cluster head. The designed P-Genes can protect the privacy of each data item without additional data exchange or encryption. Given the flexible generation of the P-Genes, the proposed PAPG scheme adapts to dynamically changing reporting nodes. Apart from its favorable resistance to data loss, the extensive analyses and simulations demonstrate how the PAPG scheme efficiently preserves privacy while consuming less communication and computational overheads.

Differential privacy, which used to collect and analysis data and preserve data privacy, has been applied widely in data privacy preserving data application. Local differential privacy algorithm which is the local model of differential privacy is used to user who add noise to his data himself with randomized response by self and release his own data. So, user can be preserved his data privacy and data analyst can make a statistical useful data by collected many data. Local differential privacy method has been used by global companies which are Google, Apple and Microsoft to collect and analyze data from users. In this paper, we compare and analyze the local differential privacy methods which used in practically. And then, we study applicability that applying the local differential privacy method in survey or opinion poll scenario in practically.

In smart grid, privacy implications to individuals and their families are an important issue because of the fine-grained usage data collection. Wireless communications are utilized by many utility companies to obtain information. Network coding is exploited in smart grids, to enhance network performance in terms of throughput, delay, robustness, and energy consumption. However, random linear network coding introduces a new challenge for privacy preserving due to the encoding of data and updating of coefficients in forwarder nodes. We propose a distributed privacy preserving scheme for random linear network coding in smart grid that considers the converged flows character of the smart grid and exploits a homomorphic encryption function to decrease the complexities in the forwarder node. It offers a data confidentiality privacy preserving feature, which can efficiently thwart traffic analysis. The data of the packet is encrypted and the tag of the packet is encrypted by a homomorphic encryption function. The forwarder node random linearly codes the encrypted data and directly processes the cryptotext tags based on the homomorphism feature. Extensive security analysis and performance evaluations demonstrate the validity and efficiency of the proposed scheme.
The rotation-based transformation (RBT) for privacy preserving data mining is vulnerable to the independent component analysis (ICA) attack. This paper introduces a modified multiple-rotation-based transformation technique for special mining applications, mitigating the ICA attack while maintaining the advantages of the RBT.

Patients' health data is very sensitive and the access to individual's health data should be strictly restricted. However, many data consumers may need to use the aggregated health data. For example, the insurance companies needs to use this data to setup the premium level for health insurances. Therefore, privacy-preserving data aggregation solutions for health data have both theoretical importance and application potentials. In this paper, we propose a privacy-preserving health data aggregation scheme using differential privacy. In our scheme, patients' health data are aggregated by the local healthcare center before it is used by data comsumers, and this prevents individual's data from being leaked. Moreover, compared with the existing schemes in the literature, our work enjoys two additional benefits: 1) it not only resists many well known attacks in the open wireless networks, but also achieves the resilience against the human-factor-aware differential aggregation attack; 2) no trusted third party is employed in our proposed scheme, hence it achieves the robustness property and it does not suffer the single point failure problem.

We study on the practical privacy-preserving techniques by matrix-based randomization approach. We clearly examine the relationship between the two parameters associated with the measure of privacy breach and the condition number of matrix in order to achieve the optimal transition matrix. We propose a simple formula for efficiently calculating the inverse of transition matrix which are needed in the re-construction process of random substitution algorithm, and deduce some useful connections among standard error and another parameters by obtaining condition numbers according to norms of matrix and the expectation and variance of the transformed data. Moreover we give some experimental results about our theoretical expressions by implementing random substitution algorithm.
