An urban ecosystem is a complex system that includes social, economic and ecosystems. Therefore, it is important to consider its environmental capacity while developing a city plan. Most of the plans, however, consider only the social aspects, which fragments the green spaces and disturbs the movement of species. Sungnam has approximately 100 parks with unexecuted development plans and with great potential to contribute towards urban ecosystem enhancement. Therefore, this study applied network analysis to prioritize the development of city parks and contribute towards improving the green network, with Parus spp. as the target species. To compensate for the drawbacks of binary and possibility-based network analysis, this study included two indices, namely $BC^{PC}_K$, $BC^{IIC}_K$, $dPCconnector_k$ and $dIICconnector_k$. These indices make it possible to find patches that could play an important role in green network enhancement. The urban park with greater value gets a higher priority to be transformed into a park. Thus, our methodology could prove to be very useful in prioritizing the undeveloped parks, thereby supporting decision-making.
In recent decades, wavelet transforms as a strong signal processing tool have attracted attention of researchers for damage identification. Apart from the wide application of wavelet transforms for damage identification, influence of higher order modes on the quality of damage detection has been a challenging matter for researchers. In this study, influence of higher order modes and different mass configurations on the quality of damage detection through Discrete Wavelet Transform (DWT) was studied. Nine different damage scenarios were imposed to four cantilever structures having different mass configurations. The first four mode shapes of the cantilever structures were measured experimentally and analyzed by DWT. A damage index was defined in order to study the influence of higher order modes. Results of this study showed that change in the mass configuration had a great impact on the quality of damage detection even when the changes altered natural frequencies slightly. It was observed that for successful damage detection all available mode shapes should be taken into account and measured mode shapes had no significant priority for damage detection over each other.
In most existing research, it is difficult to evaluate thermal comfort exactly because of reflecting individual ideal or psychological response by subjective questions. Physiological variable was selected in this study to evaluate objectively thermal comfort. MST was appeared very sensitively in indoor temperature and can express correctly thermal comfort of human body. The results of CSV are different each individual feeling sensation, so is difficult to evaluate detailedly thermal comfort unlike TSV. But the results of PP, AIx, ED, SEVR are greatly related to temperature change. So thermal comfort is evaluated more objectively by using PP, AIx, ED, SEVR on behalf of TSV, CSV. Human body was presented physiological feedback by temperature impetus and specially, tendency of heart rate agree with temperature change. Physiological reaction was showed sufficient possibility availing evaluation index of thermal comfort. In the future another one needs to review beside the selected physiological variable.
The goals of this study were to development Natural Ecosystem Value Assessment Model, to suggest the practical applicability of the Natural Ecosystem value assessment for development areas, and to assess natural ecosystem quantitatively using GIS. The Model can evaluate Natural Ecosystem Value between before and after land developments. To select indicators for the model, we conducted the literature reviews. and six indicators and the standard of evaluation had been developed through the expert interviews and literature reviews. the relative importance of the evaluation index throught two times expert questionnaires was found out. the Natural Ecosystem Value Assessment Model has been established, The results demonstrate that although the suggested six indicators are arranged by priority, to maintain quantitative and qualitative the natural ecosystem value, all indicators are desirable to be maintained complementarily. The findings of this study suggest that the natural ecosystem value assessment model appears to be effective an assessment for damaged natural environment value and possible to assign a score value. Also, this model can be applied to research areas and has implications to help maintain the natural ecosystem in land development districts.
Purpose: This study developed a method of determining priorities for evaluating and revising defense standards. Methods: The proposed data integration and refinement methods are used to obtain component reliability information and to determine the frequency of component citation based on Pareto analysis. Based on the reliability information and the frequency of cited components, the target components for quality improvement can be determined and improved using various methods, such as engineering changes, special meetings, additional training, and revising the maintenance manual. Results: Based on the proposed process, we identified components that need to be improved in order to enhance the quality and reliability. Conclusion: Our process will improve the quality and reliability of weapon systems. The proposed process can be adopted for various weapon systems to enhance their quality and reliability, and to reduce military spending.
Due to incessant earthquakes, many historic South Nias traditional timber houses have been damaged while some still stand today. As Nias is part of an extremely active tectonic region and the buildings are getting older by day, it is essential that these unique houses are well maintained and functioning well. A post-earthquake condition assessment was conducted on 2 selected buildings; 'Building A' survived the seismic shakings while 'Building B' got severely damaged. The overall condition assessment of "Building A' was found out to be poor and the main structural members were not performing as intended. In 'Building B', the columns were not well anchored to the ground, no tie beams to tie the columns together, and eventually, the timber columns moved in various directions during the earthquake. The frequent earthquakes along with deterioration due to lack of proper maintenance program are responsible for the non-survival of the buildings. Thus, a process guideline for managing the maintenance of these buildings was proposed. This is necessary because managing the maintenance works could help to extend the life of the buildings and seek to avoid the need for potentially expensive and disruptive intervention works, which may damage the cultural significance of the buildings.

Indonesia has successfully increased its ranking to 40th place in the 2019 Travel & Tourism Competitiveness Index. While tourism has become the country's second largest foreign exchange contributor, there is no existing competitive advantage model for Indonesian tourist destinations. The purpose and novelty of this study is to develop and formulate a competitive advantage model for Indonesia's tourism industry. The model will be based on the supply-side perception analysis of competitiveness indicators from Bali and five designated super-priority destinations in Indonesia. This model is expected to become a guideline for policymakers to design an effective and focused strategy. Data were obtained from in-depth interviews with, and questionnaires given to, 62 qualified industry players from the public and private sectors. This data-driven approach builds a relationship between competitiveness indicators and competitive advantages using a combination of importance-performance analysis and confirmatory factor analysis, thereby leveraging these advantages to generate a strategic model to compete in the international tourism industry. This would also be the first study to use this method in defining the competitive advantage of a destination. Using structural equation modeling, the study found that there are 54 indicators representing twelve dimensions of competitive advantages with good fit criteria.
The objective of this study is to investigate the healthcare status of South Korea and other member countries of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) using OECD health statistics 2020. We employed the position value for relative comparison index to measure the healthcare status in five following components: demand, supply, accessibility, quality, and cost. The Mann-Kendall test was used to analyze for increasing or decreasing trend of the position value for relative comparison values from 2000 to the recent year. Results showed that Korea was positioned above than the OECD median values in most of components, but lower than the median values in certain indices including healthcare employment, primary care, and mental health care. This study sheds some light on healthcare issues to be improved and the policy-makes can take into account for prior setting process.
