In this paper, a novel printed meander monopole antenna is proposed for wireless USB dongle applications. Dual-wideband resonance is obtained by utilizing a printed meander monopole radiator. The proposed antenna was fabricated on a thin FR-4 substrate with a thickness of 1 mm and a dielectric constant of 4.6. The antenna is fed by a $50{\Omega}$ coaxial cable. This novel USB dongle antenna measures only $10{\times}50mm^2$. The measured results demonstrates that the antenna supports WiBro, Bluetooth/ISM, WLAN, S-DMB, and WiMAX service bands.
In the present study, a coplanar waveguide (CPW)-fed printed monopole antenna with an inverted n-shaped slot is newly proposed for dual band operations which cover bandwidths of CDMA (1.85~2.025 GHz) and WLAN (2.4~2.484 GHz) as well as implementation of omnidirectional radiation pattern. For enhancement of impedance bandwidth ($S11{\leq}10dB$) in 2.4 GHz WLAN frequency band, an inverted n-shaped slot instead of the previous n-shaped slot is etched on the printed radiating monopole. The proposed antenna is designed and fabricated on one side of FR4 substrate with dielectric constant of 4.4, thickness of 1.6 mm, and size of $50{\times}25mm^2$. It has been observed that the measured impedance bandwidths are 280 MHz (1.84~2.12 GHz) in frequency band of CDMA and 420 MHz (2.38~2.8 GHz) in WLAN frequency band respectively. It is noticeable that impedance bandwidth in 2.4 GHz frequency band of WLAN is enlarged to three times due to use of inverted L-shaped slot in comparison with impedance bandwidth 140 MHz (2.39~2.53 GHz) obtained by use of the previous n-shaped slot. In addition, good omnidirectional radiation patterns have been observed over the entire frequency band of interest.

In this paper, modified spiral monopole printed antenna for dual band operation in GPS(1.57~1.577 GHz) and WiBro(2.3~2.4 GHz), WLAN(2.4~2.48 GHz) is proposed. To control the frequency ratio of the antenna for dual band operation freely, distance between inner lines of the spiral is diversified by using the different current distribution between basic resonance frequency of spiral monopole antenna and harmonic resonance frequency$(3\lambda_H/4)$. And also the branch line is inserted. Bandwidth(-10 dB) of the antenna is measured 140 MHz(1.47~1.61 GHz) in basic resonance frequency and 420 MHz(2.29~2.71 GHz) in harmonic resonance frequency$(3\lambda_H/4)$. The peak antenna gains are measured 2.825 dBi in GPS(1.57 GHz), and 3.65 dBi in WiBro(2.35 GHz), and 4.564 dBi in WLAN(2.44 GHz).

This paper presents a printed, wideband folded monopole antenna for laptop and tablet computer applications. The proposed antenna is designed to cover bandwidth(2.3~10.6 GHz) of Bluetooth, WiMAX, and UWB system by using the printed folded monopole antenna having asymmetrical line width coupling with a parasitic inverted- L element. Also, wireless LAN band(5.15~5.85 GHz) which interferes with UWB system is rejected by inserting half-wavelength open stub in the folded monopole antenna. -10 dB bandwidth of the fabricated wideband antenna is 2.27~10.6 GHz (4.7:1) and -10 dB band-rejected bandwidth is measured as 700 MHz(5.15~5.85 GHz, 12.72 %). The gain and efficiency of the antenna except for the rejected band are higher than 3.93 dBi and 91.89 % and are measured as -2 dBi and 14.65 % at 5.5 GHz which is band-rejected frequency. The size of the antenna is suitable to install for small space of tablet and laptop computers as 12.75(1 ${\lambda}$/10)${\times}$12(1 ${\lambda}$/11) $mm^2$(${\lambda}$ is free space wavelength at 2.3 GHz). Therefore, we verified that the designed antenna is appropriate for wideband antenna of tablet and laptop PC applications.

This paper designed and fabricated the printed dual monopole antenna with CPW feeder for PCS and UWB(Ultra-Wide Band) band. In this paper, modified dual monopole antenna is proposed transform conventional monopole antenna to get dual band frequency. The dual monopole antennas have dual band, broad bandwidth and omni-directional radiation patterns, as it is the conventional monopole antenna. As one monopole operated a stub to match feed line with antenna, we are obtained easy an ideal impedance matching. It is increased band width of impedance. The antenna bandwidth is about 1350MHz (1.69~2.04[GHz]z]) at 1st resonance frequency, 2,670MHz (4.33~6[GHz]) at 2nd, resonance frequency, and, 3,980MHz (6.1~10.08[GHz]) at 3th resonance frequency on VSWR$$\leq_-$$2, and then we can be got not only 1.75~1.87 [GHz] PCS band but also, UWB band.

This paper summarizes the data of a monopole antenna with a sleeve structure that can be applied in various ways. Sleeve monopole antennas have broadband characteristics and are used for multi-frequency applications. The sleeve monopole antenna is composed of a vertical conductor, which is a radiator, and a sleeve having the same structure as a coaxial cable. The sleeve acts as a radiator and an open stub. The length of the sleeve should be 1/3~2/3 of the total length of the antenna. A monopole antenna having a sleeve structure is applicable to a vehicle wiper antenna. In addition, the case of applying this antenna to a broadband sleeve antenna using a loading coil, a broadband printed sleeve monopole antenna for an ISM band, a gap sleeve and a double sleeve, and a UWB planar monopole antenna using half cutting was summarized and analyzed in terms of structure and broadband.

Chemically modified graphene has been great interest for the application of printed electronics using solution prossesable technique. Here, we demonstrate a large area graphene exfoliation method with fewer defects on the basal plane by application of shear stress in solution to obtain high quality reduced graphene oxide (RGO). Moreover, we introduce a novel route to preparing highly concentrated and conductive RGO in various solvents by monovalent cation-${\pi}$ interaction. Noncovalent binding forces can be induced between a monopole (cation) and a quadrupole (aromatic ${\pi}$ system). The stability of this RGO dispersion was more sensitive to the strength of the cation-${\pi}$ interactions than to the cation-oxygen functional group interactions. The RGO film prepared without a post-annealing process displayed superior electrical conductivity of 97,500 S/m. Our strategy can facilitate the development of large scalable production methods for preparing printed electronics made from high-quality RGO nanosheets.

This letter describes a dual-band compact monopole antenna with two branches for Wi-Fi applications. The proposed antenna is based on a planar monopole design, and composed of two branches of radiating patches for dual-band operation. The ground size of the antenna matches the ground size of a typical hand-held cellular phone for improved compatibility with mobile phone printed circuit boards. The antenna is designed using a simulator and fabricated with optimized parameters. The fabricated antenna is measured at the lower and higher operating frequencies, and the return loss coefficient, gain, and radiation patterns are determined.

In this paper, we proposed a triple band printed monopole antenna with a bent branch strips for WiFi / 5G. An antenna structure in which bent strips for generating multiple resonance are attached in the form of branches was newly proposed based on a typical monopole strip vertically erected as a triple band antenna structure. The proposed antenna is designed on a FR-4 substrate with dielectric constant 4.3, thickness of 1.6 mm, and size of 28×40 mm2. The measured impedance bandwidth is 430 MHz (2.22~2.65 GHz) in the 2.4 GHz WLAN, 450 MHz (3.38~3.83 GHz) in the 3.5 GHz and 2390 MHz (4.95~7.34 GHz), In particular, it has been observed that antenna has a stable omnidirectional radiation patterns as well as gain of 1.537 dBi, 1.878 dBi and 2.337 dBi in the entire frequency band of interest.

In this Paper, a new antenna(VHMDA) characteristics of half-circular/elliptical disc-loaded planar antennas with horizontally top-loaded small disc is studied by simulation and measurements with additional resonant structure. The transfer function characteristics of Gaussian pulse from the designed UWB transmitter antenna has been investigated. The radiation pattern of the proposed antenna in azimuth is nearly omni-directional response, which is usulally required in conventional monopole antenna. In addition to that, the simulation and measured results show that the return loss characteristics of VHDMA covers considerably large bandwidth with small area. From the measured results of the circular and half-circular disc-loaded monopole antennas with small disc mounted on the top, it is found that the half disc-loaded monopole antenna with additional structure can be comparable to the circular disc-loaded monopole antenna in respect o( size and electrical performances. Surface wave and dielectric losses often caused by the printed antenna using high dielectric constant does not occur in metallic planar antenna with good impedance matching and without lossy matching unit. This structure implies that the performance of return loss is directly related with the radiation efficiency.
