국내 세탁행동의 지속가능성에 관한 연구 -유럽과의 비교를 중심으로- (A Study on Sustainable Laundry Behavior -Comparison between Korean and European Consumers-)

  • The purpose of this study was to assess the sustainability of laundry practices among Korean households in comparison with European households. A total of 329 responses were collected through an online survey and analyzed using SPSS. Detergent dosing, use of fabric softener, prewashing, rinsing, washing programs, and washing temperatures of Korean households were not optimal for sustainability. Only 11.2% of respondents followed dosage instructions while the majority based on load size. Use of fabric enhancer, prewashing, and rinsing were frequent. Cotton 40℃ was the most frequently used program (81.5%) while eco and cold wash programs were among the least (1.5%). In terms of laundry sorting, load size, drying, and ironing, more sustainable actions were reported. Laundry was often sorted by color, machines were commonly filled, and clothes tended to be air-dried and not excessively ironed. Gender was the primary socio-demographic factor denoting sustainable habits, with males being more attentive to instructions and care labels than females. European households, however, were more sustainable in all areas except for frequent ironing, and education level and employment status were significant factors affecting sustainable practices.

  • Extraction and anti-solvent crystallization were proposed to recover octahydro-1,3,5,7-tetranitro-1,3,5,7-tetrazocine (HMX) from pressed polymer bonded explosives(PBXs). DXC-57 and DXC-59, whose polymeric binders are Estane and HyTemp with dioctyl adipate plasticizer, respectively, were used as pressed PBX models. Estane of DXC-57 was removed by washing with tetrahydrofuran prior to extraction, which enabled the crystallization of HMX at a low degree of supersaturation, sufficient to obtain β-form HMX. Using dimethyl sulfoxide and ethanol as the extraction solvent and the anti-solvent for crystallization, respectively, HyTemp and dioctyl adipate in DXC-59 were separated from HMX. The purity of recovered β-form HMX was higher than 99 %.

Arthrobactor sp. A-6의 배양과 Chicory 뿌리 추출물에서 Di-Fructofuranose Dianhydride(DFAIII)의 생산 (Cultivation of Arthrobactor sp. A-6 and Production of DFA III(Di-Fructofuranose Dianhydride) from Chicory Root Extract)

  • Chicory 뿌리에서 Arthrobacter sp. A-6를 배양하여 inulin fructotransferase를 생산하였을 매 균주의 성장속도, 효소의 생산성을 검토하였다. 가공된 치커리 뿌리는 inulin fructotransferase의 crude enzyme solution으로 처리하였을 때 생산되는 di-fructofuranose dianhydride(DFA III)의 양을 chicory 뿌리의 가공방법에 따른 차이를 비교하였다. 우선 standard 배지에서 생산된 효소액으로 10%의 inulin이 포함된 standard inulin용액을 처리하면, 1.14mg/ml의 DFA III가 생산되었다. Chicory뿌리의 전처리방법에 따라, 같은 조건으로 반응을 진행시키는 실험을 통해 각 배지에서의 생산효율을 비교하였다. Chicory뿌리를 washing과 extraction과정을 거치지 않고 그대로 반응시켰을 경우, 2.29 mg/ml의 DFA III가 생산되어 생산성이 가장 높았는데, 이는 세척과정에서 inulin이 유실되지 않으므로, 기질로 작용하는 inulin의 양이 가장 높은 데 기인하는 것으로 생각된다.

Development of ginseng powder using high hydrostatic pressure treatment combined with UV-TiO2 photocatalysis

  • Background: Korean ginseng (Panax ginseng Meyer) powder is in rising demand because powder forms of foods are convenient to handle and are highly preservable. However, ginseng powder (GP) manufactured using the conventional process of air drying and dry milling suffers nutrient destruction and a lack of microbiological safety. The objective of this study was to prepare GP using a novel process comprised of UV-TiO2 photocatalysis (UVTP) as a prewashing step, wet grinding, high hydrostatic pressure (HHP), and freeze-drying treatments. Methods: The effects of UVTP and HHP treatments on the microbial population, ginsenoside concentration, and physiological characteristics of GP were evaluated. Results: When UVTP for 10 min and HHP at 600 MPa for 5 min were combined, initial 4.95 log CFU/g-fw counts of total aerobes in fresh ginseng were reduced to lower than the detection limit. The levels of 7 major ginsenosides in UVTP-HHP-treated GP were significantly higher than in untreated control samples. Stronger inhibitory effects against inflammatory mediator production and antioxidant activity were observed in UVTP-HHP-treated GP than in untreated samples. There were also no significant differences in CIELAB color values of UVTP-HHP-treated GP compared with untreated control samples. Conclusion: Combined processing of UVTP and HHP increased ginsenoside levels and enhanced the microbiological safety and physiological activity of GP.

염류집적 유형이 다른 토양의 교환성 양이온 측정 (Determination of Exchangeable Cations in Soils Affected by Different Types of Salt Accumulation)

  • 염류집적 토양의 교환성 양이온을 분석할 때 수용성 양이온이 많이 존재하는 경우 교환성 양이온이 높게 측정될 수 있으므로 수용성 양이온을 제외한 교환성 양이온을 측정하여야 한다. 수용성 양이온을 제거하기 위하여 전처리 과정 중 알콜 등으로 세척을 하거나 전체 양이온을 구한 후 포화 용액 중 녹아있는 수용성 양이온을 빼는 방법이 있다. 본 실험 결과 시설재배지 토양의 경우 전처리에서 세척하는 방법을 사용해도 타당할 것으로 판단되나, Na 함량이 높은 간척지 토양은 포화용액에 녹아있는 수용성 양이온을 빼야 정확한 교환성 나트륨을 구할 수 있다고 판단되었다. 또한 $EC_e$가 4 이하인 토양에서는 수용성 양이온을 제외할 필요가 없었다.
