The purpose of this study is to develop the education program for a healthy family support center. This will be a representative program which will differ from the education programs of other welfare centers. This study suggests 11 themes based on the elements of a healthy family. These programs aim to prevent and solve family problems. The 11 themes are as follows: family values, family relations 1 and 2 (couple/parent-children), parent coaching 1 and 2, family culture, resource management, multi-cultural families, working families, family volunteerism, and family consulting. This study focuses on creating a frame for this program which is integrated, systematic, and flexible. It also develops both family diagnosis sheets and educational content about various aspects of family life. Thus, this can be a core program which allows networking with other programs.
Purpose: This study was conducted to test the effect of the 12 weeks brisk walking exercise program on body composition, blood pressure, blood glucose and blood lipid for middle-aged woman with obesity. Method: The subject were 25 obese women in 40-64 yr old who were composed of over 30% body fat. For the analysis, descriptive statistics, paired t-test were used for statical analysis with SPSS 15.0. Result: The results were summarized as follows: first, the body weight, body mass index (BMI), % body fat of the obese woman were significantly decreased after implementing the 12 weeks brisk walking exercise program (p<.5). Second, the systolic blood pressure, diastolic blood pressure and blood glucose were significantly decreased after the 12 weeks brisk walking exercise program (p<.5). Third, the serum cholesterol was significantly decreased (p<.05) but serum triglyceride was not significantly decreased the after 12 weeks brisk walking exercise program. Conclusion: These results suggest that the brisk walking exercise program has an effect on decreasing body weight, BMI, percent body fat, blood pressure and serum cholesterol in middle-aged woman with obesity to reduce obesity and prevent chronic disease.
Purpose: The purpose of this study was to identify a path diagram for the influence of family, personality, sexual abuse, drug abuse, coping strategies, and aggressive impulsiveness on aggression, and to develop a sublimation program for Korean adolescent's aggression. Method: Data was collected by self-report questionnaires. Subjects consisted of 2,111 adolescents. A proportional stratified random sampling method was used. The major instrument was the Mental Health Questionnaire for Korean Adolescents, and the Cronbach's Alpha ranged from .54 to .95 for each subscale. Statistical methods were Chi-square, correlation analysis, and path analysis. Results: The strongest contributing variables on aggression were person-related aggressive impulsiveness, antisocial personality, self-injured aggressive impulsiveness, gender, sexual abuse, psychosomatic symptoms II, drug abuse, age, parent-child relationship, alcohol abuse and cognitive avoidance coping strategies in the order named. Also the author developed a multi-systemic sublimation program for Korean adolescents's aggression. The multi-systemic sublimation program involves four domains including adolescents, parents, peers and community, and has several therapeutic sub-programs for each domain. Conclusion: The ecology of human development is composed of multiple, integrated levels of organization, including biological, individual-psychological, social-interpersonal, cultural, and historical levels. Therefore, this multi-systemic sublimation program will prevent and decrease the rate of aggressive behavior among Korean adolescents.
The purpose of this study was to plan a 5-day menu using antioxidant-rich foods (vitamin A. vitamin C, vitamin E, phytochemicals) for a congregate meal program for the elderly and to evaluate the satisfaction of menus. The elderly participated in the congregate meal program at Guro Elderly Welfare Facility during October, 2003 (120 persons / day). The elderly liked yungyangbab, cooked rice with sweet potato and pumpkin, soybean paste soup with chinese cabbage, pan-fried cuttlefish patty with chopped soybean sprout, pan-fried beef patty with tofu and ginseng, fresh vegetable salad and most of desserts. The leftovers of menus were negatively correlated with satisfaction of menus. The 5-day menu contained over 1/3 of KDRIs (Dietary Reference Intakes for Koreans) except fiber calcium, vitamin K and vitamin E. In conclusion, menus using antioxidant-rich foods for a congregate meal program for the elderly will improve nutrient intakes and satisfaction of the meal program. It may help to prevent chronic diseases and improve healthy lives of the Korean elderly.
Previous studies have shown that forest therapy program can help prevent dementia. However, few studies have focused on low-income elderly people living alone. The current study examined the meanings that the elderly living alone receiving medical care assigned to the urban forest therapy program, as a way to understand the pathways that nature-based intervention affect preventing dementia. Twenty-one participants were recruited and they participated in a five-week urban forest therapy program. Semi-structured interviews were carried out with 21 participants who experienced the urban forest therapy program, and analyzed qualitative data using thematic analysis. Results showed that all themes identified were related to connectedness with oneself, neighbors and nature. Awarenesses of change were consisted of positive and negative themes. The themes of positive awareness were improvements of mental and emotional condition, feelings of isolation and loneliness, and health-related lifestyle. The negative themes were terminations of short-term programs and inconvenient access to the urban forest. Based on these data, we suggest an urban green welfare framework for future research and interventions for preventing dementia of underprivileged elderly group.
Lifetime Health Maintenance Program(LHMP) for Koreans is the Korean guide to clinical preventive services which include screening for chronic diseases, counseling and immunization. The Korean Task Force on the LHMP vigorously reviews evidence for interventions to prevent over 50 different illnesses and conditions which are important in Korea. The problems addressed in this program are common ones seen every day by primary care physicians in Korea: cardiovascular, infectious diseases, gastrointestinal and endocrine diseases, cancers, alcohol and smoking, and many others. Primary care clinicians have a key role in screening for many of these problems and immunizing against others. Of equal importance, however, is the clinician's role in counseling patients to change unhealthful behaviors related to diet, smoking, exercise, injuries, and sexually transmitted diseases. The recommendations are grouped by age, sex, and other risk factors.
This study has investigated the perception of adults in relation to healthy family to help identify import issues. Gathered information were then incorporated to education programs for the Healthy Family Support Center. For this purpose, a survey was conducted in four cities in Kyungnam during March 2007. The responses of 213subjects have been used for the final analysis. The results of this analysis lead to three major findings. Firstly, the surveyed adults regarded positive interaction and domestic family functions as essential activities in healthy families. Secondly, the participants exhibited a very low knowledge-level of the 'Healthy Family Act', and the Healthy Family Support Center. Finally, the respondents said that they are more likely to specifically participate in educational program and counseling program if it helps them prevent family programs.

Marine reduction gears are usually used to increase the propulsion efficiency of propellers for ships powered by medium and small sized high speed diesel engines. Most of shaft systems adopt flexible couplings to absorb the transmitted vibratory torque from the engines to the reduction gears and to prevent the chattering phenomenon of reduction gears. However some elastic couplings show non-linear characteristics due to the variable torque transmitted from the main engines and the change of ambient temperature. In this study dynamic characteristics of flexible couplings sare investigated and their effects upon various vibratory conditions of propulsion systems are clarified. A calculation program of torsional vibration for the propulsion systems are clarified. A calculation program of Results of the program developed are compared with ones of the existing linear method and propulsion systems with the elastic couplings the transfer matrix method is adopted which is found to give satisfied results.
