PPM을 이용한 원자력 발전소 모터구동밸브의 안전성 평가 (A Safety Evaluation of Motor-Operated Valves of Nuclear Power Plants By Using PPM)

  • PPM (Performance Prediction Methodology) developed by EPRI was introduced and applied to calculate the stem thrust of 3 and 4 inches flexible-wedge gate valves. The calculated stem thrusts of open and close strokes including cracking were compared with the results measured at in-situ differential pressure tests. The comparison has shown that PPM is an extremely conservative method to predict the minimum required stem thrust to operate motor-operated valves in a design basis accident condition of nuclear power plants.

u-home 가스안전관리시스템 개발 및 성능시험 (Development and Performance Test of Gas Safety Management System based on the Ubiquitous Home)

  • 본 논문에서는 무선 ZigBee 통신모듈과 지능형 가스안전기기를 이용하여 u-홈 가스안전관리시스템을 개발하여 가스안전관리의 효율을 향상시킬 수 있는 시스템을 제안하고자 한다. 제안한 시스템은 마이컴가스미터, 자동식소화기, 감지기 및 월패드로 구성된다. 마이컴미터는 가스압력, 가스유량, 지진을 모니터링하고, 자동식소화기는 가연성 가스의 누출상태와 $100^{\circ}C$$130^{\circ}C$의 온도를 측정한다. 그리고 감지기는 연기와 일산화탄소(CO)를 검지한다. 제안한 시스템은 가스사용중 이상상태발생시 마이컴가스미터는 경보와 함께 내부밸브를 차단시키고, 자동식소화기는 중간가스밸브를 차단하거나 소화약재를 분사시킨다. 감지기는 연기와 CO를 감지할 경우 각각 신호를 발생시킨다. 가스안전기기와 센서들은 지능적 조치를 취하고 그 정보를 월패드로 전달한다. 월패드는 상황정보를 실시간으로 서버에게 전달하고 사용자는 웹기반으로 서버에 접속하여 가스의 상황정보를 확인하거나 관리할 수 있다. 본 논문은 가스안전 및 위험관리의 시나리오를 고안하고 실험을 통하여 그 효용성을 증명하였다.

정량적 위험성 평가를 통해 제안된 도시가스 고압배관의 위험경감조치별 위험감소효과 (Risk Reduction Rate for Each Risk Mitigation Measure on High Pressure Urban Gas Pipelines Proposed by Quantitative Risk Analysis)

  • 이 논문에서는 실제 설치예정인 도시가스 고압배관에 대하여 정량적 위험성 평가를 실시하고, 평가 결과 위험이 허용영역 밖에 위치하는 경우에는 위험경감조치를 도출하였다. 또한, 도출한 위험경감조치별 위험감소율을 계산하였다. 정량적 위험성 평가결과, 복사열에 의한 사고피해거리는 바람의 속도와 대기안정도에 따라 크게 좌우됨을 알 수 있었다. 위험감소율이 가장 큰 조치는 배관의 부식관리, MOV 설치 및 타공사로 인한 배관손상방지조치를 모두 이행하도록 하는 10번 조치로서 75%의 위험감소효과가 있었다.

영광3,4호기 안전감압계통 추가설비 설계최적화를 위한 시스템엔지니어링 적용연구 (Systems Engineering Approach to Reengineering of YGN 3&4 Safety Depressurization System Retrofit Design)

  • The purpose of this paper is to present the results of reengineering of the YGN 3&4 (Yonggwang Nuclear Power Plant, Units 3&4) SDS (Safety Depressurization System) retrofit design and to make recommendations for the improvement in design and design procedure implementing the Systems Engineering (SE) process. YGN 3&4 is a basic model for OPR1000 (the Korean standard 1000 MWe plant). The basic model, herein, represents the reference plant for the OPR1000 development. In the middle of the YGN 3&4 construction, the Korean Nuclear Regulatory Body requested a retrofit of this plant with a means to rapidly depressurize the plant in conformance with a severe accident mitigation requirement. For the reengineering of the SDS in YGN 3&4, V-model and functional and physical architectures have been developed. A SE decision making method has been used for the selection of SDS valves. Finally, recommendations have been made to improve OPR1000 design for the improved operation and enhanced safety.

다중 종속 고장상태를 갖는 공정시스템의 신뢰성 모델 (A Reliability Model of Process Systems with Multiple Dependent Failure States)

  • Process safety technology has developed from qualitative methods such as HAZOP (hazard and operability study) to semi-quantitative methods such as LOPA (layer of protection analysis), and quantitative methods are actively studied these days. Quantitative risk assessment (QRA) is often based on fault tree analysis (FTA). FTA is efficient, but difficult to apply when failure events are not independent of each other. This problem can be avoided using a Markov process (MP). MP requires definition of all possible states, and thus, generally, is more complicated than FTA. A method is proposed in this work that uses an MP model and a Weibull distribution model in order to construct a reliability model for multiple dependent failures. As a case study, a pressure safety valve (PSV) is considered, for which there are three kinds of failure, i.e. open failure, close failure, and gas tight failure. According to recently reported inspection results, open failure and close failure are dependent on each other. A reliability model for a PSV group is proposed in this work that is to reproduce these results. It is expected that the application of the proposed method can be expanded to QRA of various systems that have partially dependent multiple failure states.

  • 압력용기란 압력을 가진 유체를 수용하는 원통형 용기로써 실생활에는 프로판가스통과 부탄가스통 등이 있다. 한국가스안전공사의 자료에 따르면 국내 가스사고 발생 건수로는 연간 평균 프로판가스 관련 33건, 이동식부탄가스 관련 20.8건 등이 발생되었다. 이에 폭발방지를 위한 방안을 연구하고자 하였다. 기존 연구로는 폭발 한계점에서 안전출구를 통한 강제배출, 가스통의 강제격리, 고강도 강판 제조 등이 있으며, 본 논문에서는 철근콘크리트의 인장응력을 상쇄할 수 있도록 미리 압축응력을 준 프리스트레스트 개념을 사용하여 내압을 받는 원통내부의 응력을 감소시키고자 하였다. 즉, 압력용기 내부 양단에서 미리 인장한 긴장재를 설치하여 가스 중간밸브와 같은 역할을 하면서 응력을 상쇄하는 안전장치이다.

  • This study was experimentally performed in order to estimate the errors due to the leakage of transmitter gaugelines in the orifice flow meter for natural gas. It would be a serious problem in safety if a large quantity of leak was occurred at the tubes or fittings like valve. But in most cases the safety problems might be rarely happened because the gas leak detectors could be operated in advance and the various kinds of inspection would be also fulfilled periodically. If the leakage was occurred continuously with an undetectable amount at the gaugelines for measuring the pressure or the differential pressure(DP), the amount of leakage might be an error or an unaccounted flow(UAE). In addition if the measuring value of pressure or DP were affected by the leakage, it might also be a measurement error. The experiments were performed to estimate the amount of leakage and to check the DP changes if it exited. First, through the measurement of the air pressure changes in the airtight container connected to a transmitter with gaugelines as the time passed, the amount of leakage causing from the fittings of gaugelines was roughly estimated. As changing the leak position of the gaugeline, the leak was intentionally made to break out. The variance of DP was checked as controlling the extent of leakage and compared to no leak conditions. Consequently, under the normal maintenance conditions, the result represented that the amount of leakage causing from the gaugelines was insignificant and also the DP changes on leakage conditions were too small to cause the errors of measurements.

저압 SCR을 위한 디젤발전기 배기가스 온도 변화 (Temperature Variation of Exhaust Gas in Diesel Generator for Low Pressure SCR)

  • L.P SCR의 촉매 반응을 위해 선박의 발전기용 4행정 디젤엔진의 배기가스 온도를 높게 설계 할 수밖에 없었다. 본 연구의 목적은 밸브개폐시기와 연료분사시기를 조정을 통한 배기가스의 온도 감소가 L.P SCR의 운전조건을 만족시키고 고온으로 인한 발전기 엔진의 사고를 예방하기 위함이었다. 배기가스 온도를 하강시키기 위해 캠샤프트의 각도를 조정하고 연료분사펌프의 Shim을 추가하였다. 그 결과 최대폭발압력은 12.8 bar 증가하였고 터보차저 출구온도 평균값은 13.3 ℃ 하강하였다. 터보차저 출구에서 SCR 입구까지의 열손실을 감안하더라도 L.P SCR 운전조건인 SCR 챔버 입구 온도인 290 ℃를 만족하였다. 배기가스 온도 하강을 통해 디젤발전기의 안전운전이 가능하게 한 연구였다.

선로전환부 청결을 위한 자동 분사형 윤활시스템 개발에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Development and Application of an Automatic Injection Type Lubrication System for the Cleaning of the Line Switching Part)

  • In this study, an automatic spraying lubrication system was developed to maintain the cleanliness of the switchgear when detecting the movement of the track through the switchgear. To develop this system, an air tank, valve block, and spray nozzle were designed, and the safety was secured through the pressure test of the prototype after designing the air tank. Furthermore, the environmental aspect was considered by minimizing the use of lubricant by enabling the mixing of air and lubricant through the production of a valve using the Venturi principle. The performance evaluation was conducted by implementing (producing) the injection system, and the product developed in this study was deemed installable in actual switchgear. It is expected that the proposed system will enable the maintenance of the cleanliness of the track during switching and reduce faults and malfunctions caused by switchgear defects.

Effect of inlet throttling on thermohydraulic instability in a large scale water-based RCCS: A system-level analysis with RELAP5-3D

  • This paper presents results from system-level modeling of a water-based reactor cavity cooling system using RELAP5-3D. The computational model is benchmarked with experimental data from a half-scale RCCS test facility at Argonne National Laboratory. The model prediction is first compared with a two-phase oscillatory baseline experimental case where mixed accuracy is obtained. The model shows reasonable prediction of mass flow rate, pressure, and temperature but significant overprediction of void fraction. The model prediction is then compared with a fault case where the inlet of the risers is gradually reduced using a throttling valve. As the valve is closed, the model is able to predict some major flow phenomena observed in the experiment such as the dampening of oscillations, the reintroduction of oscillations, as well as boiling, flashing, and geysering in the risers. However, the timeline of these events are not well captured by the model. The model is also used to investigate the evolution of flow regime in the chimney. This work highlights that the semi-empirical constitutive relations used in RELAP-3D could have a strong influence on the accuracy of the model in two-phase oscillatory flows.
