We measured change of peripheral skin temperature and mean skin temperature when the upper arm and thigh pressured in order to know the effect of skin pressure applied by clothing on blood circulation. After release from pressure, we observed also recovery condition. At the same time, we examined relation between pressure and a feeling of tightness. Three physiques of healthy females, namely slender, standard and plump, served as subjects. We used intermittent method with skin pressure applied by experimental fabric at l-minute intervals. Besides we made a comparative study with results according to different restraint method (continuous method and intermittent method). As a result of this experiment, we obtained following findings. 1. The significant difference was marked at the pressure, measuring time, physique and measuring region with change of skin temperature under upper arm and thigh restraint by intermittent method. The peripheral skin temperature decreased with the lapse of restraint time. A remarkable tendency observed according to the. increase of restraint pressure. Recovery condition after release from pressure not yet recovered to original state, for all after a lapse of 10 min. The mean skin temperature decreased with the lapse of restraint time in case of upper arm restraint, it was not an obvious tendency except 60mmHg under thigh restraint. 2. Main factor affecting the evaluation of a feeling of tightness was restraint pressure, when the upper arm and thigh restraint by intermittent method. The respondence rate of 'very tight' grew larger according to the increase of restraint pressure. The value of pressure sensation declined after restraint ten times as compared with one time, but there was difference according to restraint pressure. 3. We reexamined change of skin temperature and feeling of tightness by different restraint method(continuous method and intermittent method). The results were as follows. 1) The skin temperature decreased more greatly during skin pressure by continuous method than intermittent method, especially in the peripheral. Without different restraint method, the skin temperature of slender plysique decreased more greatly than that of plump physique. 2) The value of pressure sensation by intermittent method was highly on both sites of upper arm and thigh.
This study is about efficiency of pretreatment process and operating factor to membrane process at continuous coagulation/ultrafiltration process in water treatment. The capacity of pilot plant was $0.06{\beta}(C)/d$. The raw water used was from Nakdong stream which was characteristized by high organic matter and high turbidity. The result of the test was that coagulation is good process as to high removal rate to organic matter and turbidity but It caused problem to membrane pore blocking. This paper is to determine the membrane fouling potential under different membrane flux, backwash pressure and linear velocity. Backwash pressure and flux is important parameter on operation of membrane system. Those are directly affected on membrane system. When backwash pressure increased from 150 kPa to 200 kPa, the result showed that fouling (pressure increase rate) changed from 3.69 kPa/h to 0.93 kPa/h and the recovery rate changed from 90.7 % to 82.0 %. Linear velocity had slightly effect on fouling. Linear velocity increased from 0.2 m/s to 0.5 m/s, the corresponding pressure rate changed from 0.93 kPa/d to 0.77 kPa/d.

This study investigated the effects of changes to the pulsation factor of pulsed direct currents on wound healing. Patients with a pressure ulcer at a care hospital for the elderly were randomly divided into three groups: Group 1 involved the application of $100{\mu}s$ in pulse duration, 10 ms in pulse period, 100 pps in a pulsation factor, 15 mA in pulse amplitude, and polarity red+ by using pulsed direct currents; Group 2 involved a change of pulse period to 8 ms; and Group 3 received general wound management. Although there were no statistically significant differences in the changing stages of pressure ulcers among the groups, all the groups dropped in numerical stages. In the two groups to which pulsed direct currents were applied, there was a statistically significant reduction in the stages of pressure ulcers from the initial assessment to the 12-week assessment (p<.05). Even though there were no statistically significant differences in changes to the area of pressure ulcers among the groups, a statistically significant decrease was found in pulsed direct current group 2 whose pulse period was shortened (p<.05). There was no difference in the healing rate of pressure ulcers among the groups, but it made a numerical increase in pulsed direct current group 1 and group 2 and a numerical decrease in group 3. There were no significant differences in the characteristics of those who had a full recovery among the groups. Those findings indicate that pulsed direct currents have positive effects on the wound healing of patients with a pressure ulcer and that a treatment with pulsed direct currents whose pulsation factor is raised by reducing the pulse duration is especially effective.
In order to control indoor air quality and save energy. it is needed to install a suitable ventilation system equipped with heat exchanger for heat recovery. Paper heat exchanger can recover $50{\sim}70$ of the enthalpy difference between supply and exhaust air. The purpose of this research is to obtain the experimental correlations for the friction factor, heat transfer coefficient, mass transfer coefficient and permeance of paper heat exchanger, which can be used for the performance prediction of the paper heat exchanger. Pressure drop at various velocities and heat transfer rate at various dry-bulb temperatures, relative humidities, and specific humidities are measured to make experimental correlations. The results of prediction using correlations show fairly good agreement with experimental data.

Flow channels with non-circular cross-sections are encountered in a wide variety of heat exchangers. Accurate friction factor and Colburn j factor data are essential for the design and viable applications of such heat exchangers. In this study, an analysis is con ducted on heat transfer and pressure drop characteristics for tube-bundle heat exchanger with various arrangements of tubes, of which their geometry could easily be modified from a circular one in a harsh environment. The parameters investigated are aspect ratio, pitch, and inclined angle of tubes. The results obtained are: (1) Aspect ratio has larger influence on the j and f factor than pitch; (2) As aspect ratio increases, both j and f factors decrease; (3) The high performance is achieved when the pitch and aspect ratio are in the range of 1.5${\~}$2.5 and 1.25${\~}$2.0, respectively; and (4) the inclined arrangements of tubes show unfavorable results for both heat transfer and pressure drop characteristics in spite of the positive possibility of condensate removals in a latent heat recovery system.

Tactile sensors have widely been researched in the areas of electronics, robotic system and medical tools for extending to the form of bio inspired devices that generate feeling of touch mimicking those of humans. Recent efforts in adapting the tactile sensor have included the use of novel materials with both scalability and high sensitivity [1]. Graphene, a 2-D allotrope of carbon, is a prospective candidate for sensor technology, having strong mechanical properties [2] and flexibility, including recovery from mechanical stress. In addition, its truly 2-D nature allows the formation of continuous films that are intrinsically useful for realizing sensing functions. However, very few investigations have been carrier out to investigate sensing characteristics as a device form with the graphene subjected to strain/stress and pressure effects. In this study, we present a sensor of vertical forces based on single-layer graphene, with a working range that corresponds to the pressure of a gentle touch that can be perceived by humans. In spite of the low gauge factor that arises from the intrinsic electromechanical character of single-layer graphene, we achieve a resistance variation of about 30% in response to an applied vertical pressure of 5 kPa by introducing a pressure-amplifying structure in the sensor. In addition, we demonstrate a method to enhance the sensitivity of the sensor by applying resistive single-layer graphene.
It is necessary to design a compressor with high pressure ratio that satisfies the IMO(international maritime organization) NOx emission regulation for the marine diesel engine. Impeller was designed using the modified slip factor with the flow coefficient. The main purpose of this study is to investigate the sensitivity of the compressor performance by the vaned diffuser geometries. The first vaned diffuser type was based on a NACA airfoil, the second was channel diffuser, and the third was conformally transformated configuration of a NACA65(4A10)06 airfoil. The sensitivity of the performance was calculated using a commercial CFD program for three different diffuser geometries. The channel diffuser showed the wide range of operation and higher pressure characteristics, comparing with the others. This is attributed to the flow stability at diffuser. Combined with this results with impeller design, the optimized compressor was designed and verified by the test results.

Since the interior shape of a pressure regulator is complex and the change of fluid resistance at each operation condition is rapid and big, the pressure regulator can become the major factor that causes big loss in pipelines. So the suitable pressure regulator modeling by each operation condition is important to obtain reliable results especially in small scale pipeline network analysis. And in order to prevent the condensation and freezing problems, it is needed to confirm both whether temperature recovery is achieved after passing by the pressure regulator's narrow neck and how much amount of low temperature area that can cause condensate accumulation is distributed by various PCV models at every inlet-outlet pressure ratio. In this research, the numerical model resembling P company pressure regulator that is used widely for high pressure range in commercial, is adopted as the base model of CFD analysis to investigate pressure regulator's flow characteristics at each pressure ratio. Additionally it is also introduced to examine pressure regulator's critical flow characteristics and possibility of condensation or freezing at each pressure ratio. Furthermore, the comparison between the results of CFD analysis and the results of analytic solution obtained by compressible fluid-dynamics theory is attempted to validate the results of CFD modeling in this study and to estimate the accuracy of theoretical approach at each pressure ratio too.

Experiments are conducted to get basic information of under-expanded impinging jet in the near field. Experimental parameters are impinging angle and under-expanded ratio. As the under-expanded ratio increases, the maximum surface pressure decreases and the reducing effect of recovery factor increases. As the impinging angle decreases, the peak of surface pressure is displaced slightly from the geometric center of the plate to the upward region and the cooling region is expanded in the downward region, whereas it is contracted in the upward region.
