The purpose of the study is to design the ontology-based Prescription Knowledge Management System of Oriental Medicine. The study was done with the premise that the effectiveness of the system can be improved by using ontological abstractional structure based on definition of concept, attribution and relations of words related to the specific area. The system is developed with Protege-2000 by using newly developed KPML(Korean Medicine Prescription Markup Language). The results of the study provide the model of Prescription Knowledge Management System and the possibility of implementing XML-based ontology system to the semantic web environment.

Objectives: The objective of this study is to investigate and valuate currently provided database management systems (DBMS) of traditional Korean medical knowledge. Methods: We searched DBMS on the web and smart device application markets (Apple App Store and Google Play Store). Key words for searching were 'traditional medicine', 'acupuncture', 'moxibustion', 'herbal medicine', and '한의학'. We looked into each DBMS to find out its scopes and limits, and each was valuated according to its functionality, accessibility, and utility. Results: 186 DBMS of traditional Korean medical knowledge were investigated and 91% of them were applications for smart devices. Almost all DBMS provided acupuncture and herb information, and a small amount of DMBS provided prescription and research paper information. Functionality, accessibility, and utility valuation were performed by using scoring system from 0 to 2. Mean values of functionality, accessibility, and utility were 0.86, 1.29, and 1.09. Conclusions: On the whole, high accessibility and low functionality were found, and various data-calculating functions were not implemented. Further researches and developments about traditional Korean medical knowledge DBMS are necessary to provide correct traditional Korean medical information and to support the studies about Korean medicine.

Objectives: Hypertension is the highest ratio among chronic disease in Korea, and the western medical information about hypertension is provided by many web sites. Advanced researches about hypertension have been conducted in Traditional Korean Medicine(TKM) for decades, but the research results are not arranged. So the results have not been utilized in following research nor contributed to the expansion of public knowledge. Methods : We did this study to improve this situation. In this study, we built database about advanced research articles related hypertension in TKM and implemented TKM information system of hypertension. Results : First, we benchmarked hypertension information systems and designed the TKM information system based on the benchmarking results and comments from TKM doctors. And it was composed of introduce, treatment, and etc. Second, we built prescription, herb, acumoxa, qigong, prevention/management, and pill database which is about 600 data extracted from papers and books. Third, we implemented JAVA/JSP based web information system which provides the database. And we created links for the each papers and books to use more easily. Conclusions : If we provide the research results about TKM hypertension diagnosis and combinational medication of western and oriental medicine, this information system will be more useful. And if we add internal and external project report about hypertension, it will be more worthy.

This study aims to organize the pharmacological component of native chicken(NC) by analyzing the bill presented in traditional medicine NC relevant literature. And the analyze the heterogeneity and the common prescription of chicken that a variety of traditional technologies to existing treatment books private data to organize information about the scientific verification.
