The Current design procedures of ACI 318-02 and CEB-FIP for the exterior beam-column joints do not provide engineers with a clear understanding of the physical behavior of the beam-column joints. In this paper, the failure strengths of the exterior beam-column joint specimens tested to failure were evaluated using the approach implementing 3-dimensional strut-tie models, design criteria of ACI 318-02, ACI-ASCE committee 352 and Park and paulay, and softened strut-tie model approach. The analysis results obtained from the 3-dimensional strut-tie models were compared with those obtained from the other approaches, and the validity of the approach implementing 3-dimensional strut-tie models were examined.

To study the effect of the macroscopic TVLEM(Three Vertical Line Element Model) which is developed in 2D, a bearing wall system is selected and 2D and 3D pushover analyses are carried out. In 2D model, the participating width of a flage wall to lateral resistance is modelled based on Paulay's effective width. From the comparisons of roof displacements, 2D model which uses the effective width of flange wall has better prediction and less analysis time than 3D model which has intrinsically the full width of the flange that causes higher stiffness and strength and shorter deformation capacity than 2D model.
Creep and shrinkage behaviour of an ultra lightweight cement composite (ULCC) up to 450 days was evaluated in comparison with those of a normal weight aggregate concrete (NWAC) and a lightweight aggregate concrete (LWAC) with similar 28-day compressive strength. The ULCC is characterized by low density < 1500 $kg/m^3$ and high compressive strength about 60 MPa. Autogenous shrinkage increased rapidly in the ULCC at early-age and almost 95% occurred prior to the start of creep test at 28 days. Hence, majority of shrinkage of the ULCC during creep test was drying shrinkage. Total shrinkage of the ULCC during the 450-day creep test was the lowest compared to the NWAC and LWAC. However, corresponding total creep in the ULCC was the highest with high proportion attributed to basic creep (${\geq}$ ~90%) and limited drying creep. The high creep of the ULCC is likely due to its low elastic modulus. Specific creep of the ULCC was similar to that of the NWAC, but more than 80% higher than the LWAC. Creep coefficient of the ULCC was about 47% lower than that of the NWAC but about 18% higher than that of the LWAC. Among five creep models evaluated which tend to over-estimate the creep coefficient of the ULCC, EC2 model gives acceptable prediction within +25% deviations. The EC2 model may be used as a first approximate for the creep of ULCC in the designs of steel-concrete composites or sandwich structures in the absence of other relevant creep data.

In this paper is one of the measures to prevent concrete collapse accidents at construction sites in advance. Analyzed based on accumulated Meteorological Agency data. It is a reliable model that confirms the prediction of the decrease rate occurrence interval, and the verification items such as p_value is 0.5 or less and ecof appears in one direction through the SARIMA model, which is suitable for regular and clear time series data models, ensure reliability. Significant results were obtained. As a result of analyzing the temperature change by time zone and the water reduce ratio by section using the data secured based on such trust, the water reduce ratio is the highest in the 29-31 ℃ section from 12:00 to 13:00 from July to August. found to show. If a factor in the research result interval occurs using the research results, it is expected that the batch plant will produce Ready-mixed concrete that reflects the water reduce ratio at the time of designing the water-cement mixture, and prevent the decrease in concrete compressive strength due to the water reduce ratio.

This paper presents an analytical prediction of the hysteresis behavior of reinforced concrete long column with rectangular section under the cyclic loading state. The mechanical characteristic of cracked concrete and reinforcing bar in concrete has been modeled, considering the bond effect between reinforcing bar and concrete, the effect of aggregate interlocking at crack surface and the stiffness degradation after the crack has taken place. The strength increase of concrete due to the lateral confining reinforcement has been also taken into account to model the confined concrete. The formulation of these models for concrete and reinforcing bar has been based on the smeared crack concept that the stress-strain relationship of reinforced concrete element would be defined using the average values. In addition to the material nonlinear properties, the algorithm for large displacement problem that may give an additional deformation has been formulated using total Lagrangian formulation. The analytically predicted behavior was compared with test result and they showed good agreement in overall behavior.
Non-linear finite element analysis for newly developed precast concrete details for beam-to-column connection which can be used in moderate seismic region was carried out in this study. Developed precast system is based on composite structure and which have steel tube in column and steel plate in beam. Improving cracking strength of joint under reversed cyclic loading, joint area was casted with ECC (Engineering Cementitious Composites). Since this newly developed precast system have complex sectional properties and newly developed material, new analysis method should be developed. Using embedded elements and models of non-linear finite element analysis program ABAQUS previously tested specimens were successfully analyzed. Analysis results show comparatively accurate and conservative prediction. Using finite element model, effect of axial load magnitude and flexural strength ratio were investigated. Developed connection have optimized performance under axial load of 10~20% of compressive strength of column. Plastic hinge was successfully developed with flexural strength ratio greater than 1.2.

Mechanical properties of GFRP rebars significantly decrease due to high temperature as well as alkalinity of concrete. This study focuses on the long-term reduction of inter-laminar shear strength of pre-damaged GFRP rebars by high temperature. For this investigation, bare GFRP rebar specimens were exposed to $270^{\circ}C$ for 1hour and then immerged in alkali solution for several months and tested in shear. No thermally conditioned specimens were immerged and tested for the comparisons. In results, the reduction of thermally damaged GFRP rebars was greater than that of no thermally damaged ones. Based on the accelerated experimental test data, an polynomial equation is presented for prediction of long-term residual inter-laminar shear strength of GFRP rebars previously damaged by high temperature.
This paper focuses on the application of two dimensional orthogonal polynomials in the regression analysis for the relationship of product parameters viz. compressive strength, bulk density and water absorption of fly ash cement bricks with other process parameters such as percentages of fly ash, sand and cement. The method has been validated by linear and non-linear two parameter regression models. The use of two dimensional orthogonal system makes the analysis computationally efficient, simple and straight forward. Corresponding co-efficient of determination and F-test are also reported to show the efficacy and reliability of the relationships. By applying the evolved relationships, the product parameters of fly ash cement bricks may be approximated for the use in construction sectors.

The panel shear and bearing strengths determining the seismic resistance of reinforced concrete column-to-steel beam connections are predicted by various methods for four previously tested exterior beam-column joints. The analytical approach to model the joint deformation is also examined. Several analyses incorporating the deformations of panel shear and bearing in the joint are demonstrated using a analyses incorporating the deformations of panel shear and bearing in the joint are demonstrated using a fairly simple connection model in the commercial packages such as Drain2dx and IDARC. The strength prediction results indicated that the ASCE method with the modifcation of the comprssion strut contribution is th most accurate. It is also considered that the analytical model presented including the joint deformation can be used for the overall analysis
