  • This paper presents a design of macro-micro system for high-speed mounting of micro-chips. A macro motion device is driven by DC servomotor and ball screw mechanism. To obtain fast response, a micro motion device utilizes a precision elector magnetic actuator In order to reduce peak impact force, We evaluate the design parameters that have an effect on it. And a characteristic of response is simulated using PID controller in velocity and force control.

  • This system is composed of fine and coarse apparatus, measurement system and control system. Piezoelectric actuator is designed for fine positioning. We make a study of precision apparatus that is used in the various industrial machine. The study was carried out to develope a precision positioning apparatus, consisting of servo motor and piezoelectric actuator. Coarse positioning using lead screw is drived by servo motor. Control system output a signal from laser interferometer to amplifier of servo motor and piezoelectric actuator after digital signal processing(DSP). Resolution of this apparatus measure with laser interferometer. In this study, design method and control system with ultra precision position apparatus are researched. As the first step, we have estimated for control performance and system stability before an actual apparatus is manufactured by MATLAB with SIMULINK including various functions those are composed of pre-design and system modeling.

  • In recent years, grinding techniques for precision machining of astainless steel used in shaft, screw parts and clear value have been improved by using superabrasive wheel and precision grinding machine. The completion of optimum dressing of superabrasive wheel makes possible the effective percision grinding of stainless steel. However, the present dressing system cannot have control of optimum dressing of the superabrabive wheel. In this study, a new system and the grinding mechanism of optimum in-process electrolytic dressing were proposed. This system can carry out optimum in-process dressing of superabrasive wheel. Therefore, the optimum in-process electrolytic dressing is a good method to obtain the efficiency and mirror-like grinding of stainless steel(SUS304).

  • Linear motor is very rapidly substituted for rotary motor and ball screw for precision positioning applications because of its characteristics such as high speed, no backlash and simplicities. A precision positioning system which is composed of linear motion(LM) guide and linear motor is widely used since it has easy controllable property but this system has low accuracy problem caused by friction of the LM guide. In this study, a scanning type XY stage is manufactured and some experiments is performed to improve the accuracy of the stage.

  • As a tool for strain measurement to work with screw driven or hydraulic material test systems, in which mechanical vibration is inherent, SSDG(Speckle Strain/Displacement Gage), ESP(Electronic Speckle Photography) and its 3-dimension version SDSP are investigated for the theory and practical appliance. Through tension test of steel strips, their validity and shortcomings are examined. As the results, it has been shown that, although SSDG and ESP provide direct measurement of in-plane strain in one direction, they are so sensitive to the out-plane displacement. On the other hand, SDSP which is aided with DIC (Digital Image Correlation) technique to trace the movement of the speckles provides not only in-plane 2-dimensional displacement field, but also out-of-plane displacement simultaneously. However, because the DIC is time-consuming, not automated yet and it needs post-processing to evaluate strain from the displacement field, SDSP appears to be not adequate as a real time sensor.

  • Toggle bolt is mechanical device constructed with toggle spring wing toggle and machine screw, and defined as an expansive bolt consisting of a nut with flanged wings which are pressed to the bolt and, after insertion in a thin or hollow wall, spread open through spring pressure, thus anchoring it to the wall. And spring wing toggle is aligned with two wings, spring and nut manually in domestic manufacturing line. Then it is regarded as major problem for exports increasement to make cost down in the view of total manufacturing process. Accordingly in this study, high speed type automatic alignment mechanism is guided for spring wing bolt, and exclusive alignment dies and some special additional units are designed and manufactured.

추정된 쿨롱 마찰을 보상한 슬라이딩 모드 제어 시스템의 위치제어 (Position Control of Sliding Mode Control Systems with Compensation of Estimated Coulomb friction)

  • The control systems with friction cause the steady state error and slow response, because friction is a sensitive to the change of system condition and has highly nonlinear characteristics. To overcome these problems and do precise position control for a ball-screw system, we use Coulomb friction estimator and the sliding mode control(SMC) to compensate its negative effect. The applied SMC for tracking position has a characteristics of robust stability and reducing chattering, and is derived from the Lyapunov stability theorem and reaching condition. Compensating the estimated friction torque to the bounded disturbance term of the SMC's equivalent control input, it has a tracking performance better than the PID from the experimental results.

  • This paper presents the thermal behavior of a synchronous linear motor with high speed and force. Such a linear motor can successfully replace ball lead screw in machine tools because it has a high velocity, acceleration and good positioning accuracy. On the other hand, low efficiency and high heating up during operation are disadvantage of linear motors. For the application of linear motors to machine tools a water-cooling system is often used. In this research, structure of the linear motor and water cooler is changed to improve the thermal behavior of the linear motor. Some important effects of an integrated cooler, an U-cooler and a thermally symmetrical cooler are presented.

  • In machine tools, the stiffness of feed drive system is very important for high speed and accurate operation. The ball screw driven feed system has small friction, so the longitudinal and twist stiffness are connected directly and affected by each other. As the longitudinal and twist stiffness are participated in total stiffness of feeding system by about ratio of 4:1, the combined stiffness is necessary to compute when stiffness of feed system is estimated. In this paper, calculation of this combined stiffness is derived and applied for an actual ballscrew fled drive system. The static stiffness and 1 st natural frequency of the feed system is measured, and it is proved the difference between estimation and experiment result is less than 6%.
