  • The study was carried out development a pricision positioning apparatus, consisting of DG servo motor and piezoelectric actuatior. This system is composed of fine and coarse apparatus, measurement system and control system. Peezoelectric actuator is designed for fine positioning. Coarse positioning using lead screw is droved by DC servo motor. Control system output a signal from laser interfermeter and capacitive sensor to amplifer of DC servo motor and piezoelectric actuator after digital signal processing (DSP).   • It can be acquired the high effective productivity through of high speed, precision of machine tools, and then, machine tools will be got a competitive power. Industrially advanced countries already developed that the high speed feed is 60m/min using the high speed ball screw. Also, a lot of problems have happened the feed drive system. It is necessary to study about the characteristics of thermal deformation played a more critical role than static stiffness and dynamic rigidity in controlling the level of machining accuracy. In spite of the improving the thermal deformation characteristics of machine tools at the design stage, there are always some residual errors that have to be compensated for during machining. In this study, thermal deformation error automated compensation device with multiple linear regression is proposed that thermal deformation error can be eliminated at the machining stage. The developed device has been practically applied to the feed drive unit.

  • In this study, automatic assembly and evaluation system fer phone camera module is conceptually designed. The designed core(Auto focus & UV curing, Image Test) equipments adopts a clustering mechanism and compactible structure using index table for minimum tact time. Using a ball screw actuator and absolute encoder in each axis, we can verifies the repeatability and position accuracy of system within ${\pm}3{\mu}m$. In result of simulation test, the proposed system is expected up to 30% in productivity than manual operation.

  • In recent years, grinding techniques for precision machining of stainless steel used in shaft, screw parts and clear value have been improved by using the superabrasive wheel and precision grinding machine. The completion of optimum dressing of superabrasive wheel makes possible the effective precision grinding of stainless steel. However, the present dressing system cannot have control of optimum dressing of the superabrasive wheel. In this study, a new system and the grinding mechanism of optimum in-process dressing of superabrasive wheel. Therefore, the optimum in-process electrolytic dressing is a good method to obtain the efficiency and mirror-like grinding of stainless steel (STS304)

  • The ELID(electrolytic in-process dressing) grinding method is a new precision grinding technique with the special electrolytic in-process dressing by metal bonded grinding wheel, fluid, and power supply. It is possible to make a efficient precision machining of hard and brittle materials such as ceramics, hard metals, and quenched steels by using this method, In this study, a new efficient precision grinding method with ELID was attempted for application to the machining and finishing processes of cylindrical structural components. And, we try to develop the cylindrical grinding technique for mirror surface of ceramics, tungsten carbide and SCM steel, and for the high efficiency grinding of machined parts, for example, ball screw shaft. Electrical characteristics of three different wheel grit sizes of #325, #2000 and #4000 were investigated experimentally. ELID grinding method is proved to be useful for mirror surface generation and efficient machining.

  • With a conventional positioning apparatus, it is very difficult simultaneously to achieve desired driving ranges and precision levels at the sub-micrometer level. Generally, a lead screw and friction drive have been used as servo control systems. These have large driving ranges, and high-speed positioning is feasible. In this study, we present a global servo system controlled by a laser interferometer acting as a displacement measurement sensor for achieving positioning accuracy at the sub-micrometer level.

  • Linear motors are efficient mechanism that offers high speed and positioning accuracy. By eliminating mechanical transmission mechanisms such as ball screw or rack-pinion, much higher speed and greater acceleration can be achieved without backlash or excessive friction. However, an important disadvantage of linear motor system is its high power loss and heating up of motor and neighboring machine components on operation. For the application of the linear motors to precision machine tools an effective cooling method and thermal optimizing measures are required. This paper presents an investigation into the thermal behavior of linear motors with the objective of deriving the optimum cooling conditions. To reach these goals several experiments were carried out, varying operating and cooling conditions. From the experimental results, this research proposed cooling conditions to improve the thermal characteristics of the linear motors.

모바일 기기용 초소형 나사의 냉간 단조 공정 설계 (Design of Cold Forging Process of Micro Screw for Mobile Devices)

  • 나사는 나선형의 홈으로 구성된 체결용 기계요소이다. 최근의 모바일 기기의 소형화 추세로 인하여 나사의 소형화 및 경량화 요구도 크게 증가하고 있는 실정이다. 우수한 기계적 성질과 높은 정밀도의 나사를 생산하기 위해서는 금형 및 공정설계가 성공적으로 수행되어야 한다. 본 연구에서는 유한요소해석을 통하여 초소형 나사의 머리부 냉간 단조 성형에 대한 공정설계를 수행하였다. 특히, 금형의 형상과 마찰력이 성형에 미치는 영향을 분석하기 위하여 실험계획법을 적용하였고, 그 결과 마찰력이 성형 시 발생하는 접힘 결함의 지배적인 요인임을 밝혀내었다. 이러한 결과로부터 금형 형상을 개선하였고, 개선된 금형으로 단조 실험을 수행하였고, 실험 결과로부터 접힘 결함 불량이 해소된 것을 확인하였다.

A Dual-mode Pico-positioning System using Active Aerostatic Coupling

  • This paper proposes a dual-mode ultra precision positioning system for machine tools and measuring machines. The objective was to position a machine table with a picometer order of resolution, i.e., pico-positioning. A twist-roller friction drive (TFD) was used in coarse-mode positioning. The TFD, which was driven by an AC servomotor, is a kind of lead screw in mechanical terms, and several centimeters of machine table movement was controlled with a nanometer order of positioning resolution. To eliminate lateral vibration caused by the TFD, an active aerostatic coupling driven by piezoelectric actuators was inserted between the TFD and the machine table. This active aerostatic coupling was also applied as a feed drive device for fine-mode positioning; in the fine mode, the positioning resolution was 50 pm. Factors influencing pico-positioning, such as how noise from displacement sensors and vibrations in the aerostatic guideway affect positioning resolution, are discussed.

토양굴취력이 향상된 스크류형 경량 식혈기 개발(I) - 설계 및 제작 - (Development of Screw-Type Handy Earth Auger for an Improved Digging Efficiency(I) - Design and Manufacture -)

  • 본 연구는 산림조성사업에 있어서 가장 큰 비중을 차지하는 인건비와 생산비용을 절감시키고 경사가 험준한 우리나라 산림지형에서 유용하게 이용 가능한 경량 식혈기를 개발하고자 수행하였다. 제작된 1차 시제품은 토양을 굴취하는 스크류(screw) 부분과 동력원인 배터리로 구성되고, 제원은 스크류의 길이 170mm, 상단폭 60mm, 하단폭 47mm, 나선각(Helix angle)은 23°, 그리고 Tip은 송곳형태로 길이 50mm로 설계·제작하였고 무게를 줄이기 위해 1줄 스크류를 채택하였다. 또한, 동력원으로는 회전용 DC Motor(WD-6G2425, WONILL, Korea)로 최대 Torque는 30㎏f-cm, 회전속도는 20~30rpm으로 설정하였다. 감속비는 30:1의 K6G30C 감속기에 무부하 상태로 사용한 결과 48시간 작동하였다. 그리고 배터리는 경량식재기의 개발을 목표로 하기 때문에 무게를 고려하여 리듐배터리를 사용하였으며, 포트묘의 길이가 15cm 내외인 점을 고려하면 스크류의 회전력이 최대 100kgf-cm정도로 설계하였다. 1차 시제품의 성능을 평가하기 위해 조사지에서 굴취시 스크류에 소요되는 회전력을 측정한 결과, 회전력이 가장 큰 곳은 A area(단단한 초지), 그 다음은 F area(경사가 40°인 산지), E area(경사가 30°인 산지)의 순서로 나타났다. 토양의 굴취 회전력은 일반적으로 깊이가 깊어질수록 높아지는 경향을 보이고 있으며, 대체적으로 토양의 깊이 10cm 부근에서 높은 경향을 보였다.
