Calibration Interval Analysis Method Based on F-test and Performance Index of Measurement Reliability Model Using Maintenance Data in Military Weapon Systems (군 무기체계에서 정비 데이터를 이용한 측정신뢰도 모델의 F-검정 및 성능지수 기반 교정주기 분석 기법)

  • The PME(precision measurement equipment) used in the measurement to check the performance of the equipment in military weapon system is periodically calibrated to maintain measurement reliability during the life cycle. Previous studies suggest that reliability models are determined by considering sample size and characteristics of equipment. However, it may not be fit well to apply a single model assuming the same characteristic distribution for the maintenance date of many kinds of PMEs. This paper proposes that the most suitable calibration interval for maintenance data is selected through the F-test and the performance index evaluation among the calibration intervals estimated from the measurement reliability models assuming the characteristic of the bath-tub curve during the life cycle of various PMEs. The research results show that the reliabilities of various types of equipment are maintained during calibration intervals.

A Study on the System of the Precision Dimensional Measurements for Molded Product Carbon Materials (탄소재 성형품에 대한 정밀 치수 검사 시스템에 관한 연구)

  • This paper proposes a method to develop a high-precision dimension measurement system using a linear variable differential transformer sensor. The Dimension targets for measurement is carbon material vanes of key element in the rotating parts within vehicle circulating pump. Data acquisition system for dimension measurement is designed using the NI Compact RIO. And the program applying the dimension measurement algorithm is built using NI LabVIEW. The dimension measuring program is composed of a FPGA program, Real Time program and Host program. The method of the experiment compares master vane with target vane for measure the length of the carbon material vane. The experimental results confirmed the usefulness of the accuracy within ${\pm}4um$.

  • Recently, the rheology on the fluidity of materials has been progressed remarkably. Viscosity measurement for precision-accuracy has needed very important to measure the rheological properties of materials in the field of chemistry-fiber, paint, printing-ink, plastics, rubber, foodstuff-industry, etc. And many methods of measurement have been developed lately. So in this experimental study, small capacity torque transducer with type of strain gage, different method against other existing viscometers, measured viscosity about a liquid that has flowing characteristics of newtonian liquid. Using the assumed computational equation of viscosity, it has same value of viscosity in each different radius of rotating cylinder. In the result, this equipment will be used in the viscosity measurement of a liquid taking flowing characteristics of newtonian liquid.

  • HP Laser Interferometer Measurement System[HP5529A] is one of the most powerful equipment for measurement of the motion accuracy. The straightness measurement system of the HP5529A is composed of wollastone prism and reflector. In this system, straightness error is measured by relative lateral motion between prism and reflector. But rotating motion of prism or reflector as moving optic causes not real straightness error but additive straightness error. Especially unwanted straightness error as this becomes very large when reflector is used as moving optic and an interval between reflector and prism is distant. In this paper, the compensation method is proposed for removing additive error and experiment is carried out for theoretical verification.

  • In this paper, we propose a method that measures quality of digital correlator. Quality of digital correlator in field of image composition of radio astronomy have as important position for acquisition of radio wave image with high precision. Digital correlator should have wide bandwidth and high precision to study on deep space. Digital correlator, therefore, should be designed to have high speed processing and high precision. But, real time measurement of quality of digital correlator using acquisition data is difficult to compare accuracy of result because digital correlator should process a large quantity of data with high speed. Measurement method of quality, also, has intricate implementation of experiment equipment. this paper present methods that compose experiment equipment without external installation easily and verify quality of digital correlator perfectly.

  • A kinematic ball bar measurement system can analyze the various errors of a machine tool easily and rapidly in a procedure and can measure many types of equipment such as chip mounter, PCB router, precision stage, etc. In this paper, the thermally induced errors are loused among various errors of a chip mounter because it affects the accuracy of the machine very much. Linear regression technique is adapted for the thermal error modeling. While the measurement and calibration of a chip mounter is difficult in general, this developed system is not only easy to apply for it but also improves the accuracy by 4 times or more.

Compensation of the Straightness Measurement Error in the Laser Interferometer (레이저 간섭계의 진직도 측정오차 보상)

  • The laser interferometer system such as HP5529A is one of the most powerful equipment fur measurement of the straightness error in precision stages. The straightness measurement system, HP5529A is composed of a Wollaston prism and a reflector. In this system, the straightness error is defined as relative lateral motion change between the prism and the reflector and computed from optical path difference of two polarized laser beams between these optics. However, rotating motion of the prism or the reflector used as a moving optic causes unwanted straightness error. In this paper, a compensation method is proposed for removing the unwanted straightness error generated by rotating the moving optic and an experiment is carried out for theoretical verification. The result shows that the unwanted straightness error becomes very large when the reflector is used as the moving optic and the distance between the reflector and the prism is far. Therefore, the prism must be generally used as the moving optic instead of the reflector so as to reduce the measurement error. Nevertheless, the measurement error must be compensated because it's not a negligible error if a rotating angle of the prism is large. In case the reflector must be used as the moving optic, which is unavoidable when the squareness error is measured between two axes, this compensation method can be applied and produces a better result.
